The Old Fitz is primarily a hotel, but the highlight of this venue is for me the Old Fitz theatre. This intimate performance space is full of charm. The theatre and the pub have managed to escape all too familiar character depriving renovations and thus thrive with Wooloomooloo's coolest kids. The space in itself may just be an air conditioned box with raked seating, but this box is illuminated by the calibre of the shows it holds. There's also a distinct sense of time travel here, back to the days when a night at the local pub theatre was a weekly event. They pub also does the best Cheap Tuesday theatre deal in Sydney, a package of Beer, Laksa and Show for a pretty darn good price (that currently escapes me). The Old Fitz makes my (and TimeOut magazine's) list for great pub entertainment, as a top spot to see some quality local independent theatre.

There are plenty of pubs around Sydney that lack character, and the Old Fitzroy is certainly not one of them! From it's famous laksa to its fantastic independent theatre, this is one of Sydney's great pubs and at over 100 years old, it's also one of the oldest! For 14 years, The Tamarama Rock Surfers theatre group has been putting on around 12 productions a year, each running for about 4 weeks (from Thursday to Sundays). It's been a great avenue for young actors and writers to have their work seen by the public in a fantastic location. And for those who just want a drink, there are 2 bars (downstairs and upstairs) with a solid selection of beers and wines (13 beers on tap), so this pub isn't just about being arty, it's also a relaxing drinking venue too!

This is fantastic trip down memory lane, based in Kings Cross it is tucked away from the main drag. It is a theatre and old style pub with some great Asian fusion food. The Laksa from this pub is talked about in circles as far out as Newtown. The Tamarama Rock Surfers (a theatre group) regularly have shows in the intimate theatre contained within these walls. Its such an adventure attending a show here. There was recently a Halloween special on and it even had a 10.30pm session - so they are willing to be just that little bit different. I had a really enjoyable time at this pub, it is pretty much anything goes, you can have a quiet one or two, a show and a meal, or a night out with a couple of mates on the booze. Kings Cross is only a hop, step and a jump away, so I would definitely second the motion to visit the Old Fitz again.

Very nice neighbourhood pub serving good simple food. Service good and good came out hot and well cooked. Enjoyed the pasta and burgers.

What a lovely pub this is! Great beer selection, good atmosphere, friendly staff and a fine bistro. Can't wait to go back.

Potts Point Liquor and Deli's strength is their price range is much broader than Bottega Del Vino's offering more mid range product as well as the higher end lines. So it is handy for those of us who need to stay conscious of our credit card limits, yet still want a nice bottle of wine. Potts Point Liquor and Deli have impressively offered a range of organic wines and they also run their own cellar club. Regarding the deli side of the business, the main attraction is the Bangalow Cheese, which is sourced from the Byron Bay area. This is delicious award winning cheese and they have an array on offer.

I lived around the corner at the time and they couldn't believe you could have such a lovely wine store, deli and cake shop all rolled into one just five minutes from your couch and waiting glass. While my parents' enthusiasm might have been a little over the top, they were absolutely right about this shop's awesomeness. They've got a great range of handpicked boutique wines (including organic drops), a full deli section with imported cheeses, olives and dips, and am amazing cake section with individual portions of all kinds of amazing treats.

VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY- NOT THE FOUR SEASON STANDARD…read more This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced, especially for a brand like Four Seasons that is supposed to represent luxury and impeccable service. We were suspicious upon first arrival when reception appeared overwhelmed and not able or willing to accommodate our requests. I must give a shout out to Lorenzo who did meet our expectations when we were able to enlist his assistance. The hotel felt understaffed, which affected every aspect of the stay. The accommodations were underwhelming, with rooms that were small , particularly for room class designations ,and far below expectations for price point. Food and beverage service was particularly poor. Simple details that should be effortless at this level--like providing decent coffee in the lobby--were completely botched: no cream and poorly brewed coffee. The maitre d for breakfast service was particularly rude and appeared bothered. Wait staff appeared confused and not understanding what we needed. We felt like an inconvenience, perhaps because we did not order the self serve buffet and required a simple breakfast? Overall, this hotel failed to deliver on the most basic elements of hospitality, let alone luxury. The Four Seasons name sets a high bar and while I had high expectations, this property fell short in multiple areas. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as significant improvements are needed to meet brand standards.
