Great food, good service, and really great experience. Very small, quiet, and relaxed. Look forward to returning

We stumbled on to a rare gem by finding The Old Hotel. The kindest and most accommodating staff I have ever had while dining. Our waitperson Carol was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. We had the buttermilk fritters, lamb sausage, and a mushroom/artichoke/bleu cheese cream omelet. Every thing was perfectly cooked and delicious

The inside was really nice with tables in different rooms and the waitresses dressed in 18 th century dresses. The menu changes weekly and the food was quality a little expensive but it was a great experience. Also it's reservation only so make sure you call in advance. It's located on Main Street with lots of parking.

I wish they had expanded hours, but take what you can get. The Bento boxes are great. Don't forget some of their homemade desserts!

Lovely old hotel. Menu changes weekly. Few choices but well balanced. Nice rosemary bread. Served leisurely.

One staff member assisted all guests who came and went during our visit. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was very good. Plenty of meat and cheese on my sandwich. Side salad was a fresh mix of greens, thin slices of cucumber without the seeds, cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of seeds. The balsamic dressing is excellent. My SO ordered a tuna melt with chips and he was given four options of chips. Nice. They also have pasta salad or upgrade to side garden salad or soup, or add one for a bigger meal. The waitress was friendly and kept an eye on us. Food is fresh and tasty. Everything is clean. Restrooms in back. Art on the walls is for sale. On street parking is free. Highly recommend.

First off it's local, it's a small business, and they have a great variety of offerings for lunch or dinner. Today was a tuna melt day! This might be my favorite sandwich so far that they offer here. Their tuna is as close as I can remember my mom making when I was a kid, adding in the croissant was a great idea and the texture?!?! Excellent addition. I suggest getting the sandwich as is. You're welcome! Foot traffic was low today but the service was excellent as always, our server Clarissa said she was new but her warm smile and great attitude made her feel like an old pro. This place checks all the boxes from the great food, great service and cozy ambiance you can have a meeting here or go on a lunch date.

If I were to have stepped back in time 100 years and had period Virginia City Star Bakery food it would have been exponentially better. Things are supposed to improve with time, experience, and technique. Not here, they take you back to the stone ages with food and service. Sat down with a joke of a server who seemed like she had never interacted with a customer before. How about a menu, how about some silverware, maybe some water, oh it's morning maybe offer some coffee. Nope, you must fend for yourself. Once we did get some coffee it was not consumable. Better off as a preservative for the decks of medieval pirate ships. Menu was a hot mess for "brunch" and priced like it was a Michelin contending Big Sky restaurant. Nope, iHop would embarrassed this joint. COOK THE HASH-BROWNS CLOWN!!! Scrambled eggs overcooked, bacon you could see through it was so thin. The only thing palatable was the sourdough toast. Likely homemade, but a 12 year old could make sourdough. And the jelly came in a plastic 1oz compote cup. Classy, real classy. Cooks and server all looked like they rolled out of bed 5 minutes prior to service. You pay at a "kiosk" prior to even getting service, so MAKE SURE YOU TIP $0 AS TIPS ARE FOR SERVICE RECEIVED NOT SERVICE ASSUMED. Save your money for subpar service and food and go elsewhere. $17 for 2 eggs overcooked, 3 pieces of thin sliced bacon, and hash-browns warmed to take the chill off but god forbid they were browned. Let's not even discuss the lack of any seasoning. But, they are going for medieval theme right?

Zero seasoning on the steak, I should have just walked out into the nearest pasture and ate a cow. At least I know it's locally sourced. Only served with fries. Also from the same dumpster as the steak, frozen SYSCO garbage fried in the cheapest oil available seasoned with a sprig of garbage. Oh, and server claimed it was Prime, negative ghost rider, this steak is Choice, cooked on low heat so no delicious caramelized crust. More like blah sous vide. Let's rewind a bit. Our first course was Poutine. Same garbage fries, they just covered them with gravy from your favorite instant powder. The steak was tender so probably tenderloin, but the oh so familiar lack of seasoning. Betsy in the back pasture might taste better. Unable to tell if they curded their own cheese, but unlikely. Second course was a salad. Learn some presentation folks, Applebees looks more appealing. To light on the dressing, light on the beets, and claimed the beets were smoked. Zero essence of any smoke. Next course was New York, but I covered that dumpster fire. Finished with desert, Triple Chocolate cake togo and a cookie topped with ice cream in house. Ice cream was ok, maybe even from the local creamery. Cookie was clearly SYSCO frozen garbage cooked by Chef Mike aka a microwave. 1/4 scoop of ice cream to boot. The Triple Chocolate clearly a frozen undelight. Server also described it as having a chocolate mousse like feel. That broad needs to get out more and maybe experience a mousse. In summary don't waste your time and money. This place used to be a destination with the historic town being a bonus. now it's an overpriced diner using frozen garbage cooked by 1 Star line cooks. Come see Virginia City, but bring your own food in a picnic basket and enjoy your own good food and not some garbage from The Wells Fargo Bar and Grill.
