Beautiful old restaurant with exquisite interior main dining room and private rooms. Unfortunately, the hospitality and customer service is from the Middle Ages as well. Made to wait in a half empty dining room, we were eventually seated. While we waited for a server, three of them argued over which would have to take our table just a few feet away. One finally took out drink order and our lunch selection and promptly forgot to ever bring our drinks or check on us again...ever. A manager eventually brought our drinks right before the meal with a murmured apology. Halfway through lunch, my drink was empty, but evidently, The Old Inn has a one drink per guest maximum unless you manage to flag down a passing server. My friend tipped, not sure why as we really had to do most of the work. So, in closing, if you like beautiful surroundings and fairly good food, this is the place for you. If you appreciate good customer service and hospitality....keep driving!

It's pretty hidden in the alley and not going to lie...coming to a new city, let alone a new country by myself was a bit intimidating, but I found it just in time for my reservation. I absolutely loved my first Michelin Star restaurant experience. I was born in Belfast, and have never been back since I was born, so I enjoyed every opportunity to tell a server. The staff was so friendly and described every dish. I ordered the Seasonal Tasting MenuEach dish was excellent. My favorite was probably the duck and the savory mousse pastries. Food in order of serving: 1. Sourdough Guinness bread with vanilla butter and olive oil 2. Olive sponge crab and apple, chicken and caramel with some type of mousse 3. Scallops, cucumber frothy brown butter 4. Bluefin tuna tartare with avocado and heirloom tomato 5. Halibut with crispy chicken skin 6. Duck 7. Sorbet and then....my phone died before I could write down the other yummy dishes I ate! The ambience was dark, romantic, and vibey. A little mysterious because of the hidden aspect, but overall I loved my whole experience here.

The space itself has a very long and interesting history, just over 40 seats have been cramped into that space. A couple tables have small glass walls to separate them and squeeze in more diners. And it's pretty loud. So loud, I can barely hear the sommelier describe her wines. There may have been music playing... but who can hear? There seems to be an attempt to elevate the bartender over the sommelier, with the menu encouraging the guests to try specialty cocktails instead of selecting whole bottles of wine. And the bartender's constant ice shaker only adds to the noise. The service is very relaxed, with servers in t-shirts and jeans, sneakers, paper napkins. And the servers seemed a bit inattentive, watching the chefs through the pass, not paying attention to guests' needs. Oh, and the server even wrote "thank you" on the printed bill... How kind. Excellent Flair. Pure Chotchkie's. For the food, I'll return. 2025 04 16. M1. 235.

One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!

Each time I have been I've got something different and it's been just amazing. It's hard to choose, but I'd say my favourite so far was the Piri piri chicken quesadilla. Most of their mains come with two sides, and unusually for me, I struggled to finish this, but it was worth every bite! The braised Cajun rice and coleslaw were the perfect accompaniments. It's a very pleasant experience to sit in Josh Mac's, with great decor and really spacious and airy inside, with massive windows which are great for watching the world go by. I've always been seated quickly any time I have been there and the staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant (and importantly the bathrooms!) are spotlessly clean. Definitely a must visit!

The seating arrangements are pew-like booths, which allows for a comfortable relaxed envioronment where you can chat with friends and not feel like other patrons are listening in! The staff at Springsteens in Carrickfergus are always cheerful and helpful, facilitating any special additions or changes to our order without any fuss (I'm one of those annoying customers who always wants my order slightly different to how it is on the menu) The staff always get the balance just right, checking how the meal is shortly after serving, and noticing when drinks are running low and offering refills, but without being overly intrusive to our dining experience.
