It's just a great pub, which is hard on a street that already has quite a few. The staff are quick, the layout means you can have a rowdy night or a quiet pint, and it has a great location. It's also home to Cypress Avenue, one of Cork's best live music venue. It's one of the few places in Cork that regularly takes a punt on indie bands, and responsible for some of my favourite gigs.

Lovely little Irish pub in the city centre! Cute atmosphere and not too noisy! Prices for drinks are very reasonable. It's a spot to visit!

Excellent venue for live music but get there early on Friday or Saturday nights as it can get very busy.

Much larger inside than it looks outside. Great pub atmosphere and cheap but tasty pub food.

Don't be fooled by the short frontage on Oliver Plunkett Street - this is a substantial bar.

During our entire stay, as my friends had joined about 10 minutes after I was seated and had already ordered drinks, the employee just kept throwing glances and staring at us the entire time. We were all ordering, so it wasn't like we were holding a table hostage. We did get good service from the waiter, although he didn't come around as often, even when we were out of drinks. Kudos to the whisky sommelier for giving us great suggestions. It's a quirky bar/restaurant, but I'm not sure it would be worth a return trip. The employee with the attitude was really unnerving.

Finally, the musicians invited about six members of the audience to learn how to play the bodhrán. Overall the music quality was excellent. The food was also satisfying. I had the chicken and chorizo pie which came with a small side salad dressed in honey mustard and a small portion of roasted potatoes. My friends really enjoyed the pork ribs. The waitress was awesome she split the bill for our entire group!
