Dude showed up LATE even though he had asked to change the time to early, made fun of my outfit, and that wasnt even the worst part. When I arrived the place, it looked amazing. Ambience was dark yet cozy, employees were friendly, and the food and cocktails seemed simply delectable. I thought if the date was trash (which it was) at least the libations would be decent. WRONG! This clown of a man talked for an hour and 45 minutes and didn't order a thing! Well he ordered water and asked for some bitters in it. I ordered a cocktail which was wonderful but I had to fight through a barrage of non stop self agrandizement to even get him to take a break so I could suggest ordering something. (Mind you he suggested this place!) If you don't want to eat don't ask me to meet you at a restaurant! Anyway I extricated myself and went to the grocery store as I was hungry, vowing to return. I came back several days later and it was AMAZING! The food is so so delicious and inventive and the menus switches every so often (at least the appetizers do) The cocktails are lovely, and if you're looking for an off the menu boozy treat get the holywater...but maybe don't have more than two. Staff is always so kind and service top notch! This has become one of my most frequented spots. So thank you James for that hideous date. You were more helpful than you ever could know.

The service is johnny on the spot and the bartenders are welcoming with humorous slogans and stories. There's plenty of room inside the front of the restaurant as well as all along the sides and the back. The further back you go the less you want to know of the front. It's kind of cozy and sweet. So, come on out the next time you're in Blarney, County Cork. It's a lovely town, and inside is so colorful with songs, stories, decor and all sorts of delicious foods and libations. The stew was superb,it had plenty of lamb and nicely cut pieces of potato and root vegetables. This was the best stew by far after having stew twice while in Dublin. The fish was good but not the best I've had and the chips were a little lukewarm. Once at the bar we enjoyed some drinks and stayed for the live music until closing. Small pork pie's pastry had some slightly overburnt and had spots, but it was crispy overall. The filling was seasoned nicely, but could use a bit more gravy or juice. The blackberry sundae with ice cream was nicely done, silky texture ice cream, sundae was rich in blackberry flavor. Other elements provide a diversity of mouthfeel, but I felt some of them were a bit of nuisance as their textures sometimes did not feel harmonized together.
