What we really liked was being free to stroll through the store and look at kitchen chairs without being swarmed upon by salespeople. We detest the swarm of locusts approach that happens inside some furniture stores as soon as your big toe crosses the threshold. Not here. One very cool thing we saw and came THISCLOSE to buying was a nice kitchen chair that was tagged for $5. The tag also said "Wobbly Chair" and indeed it had some issues with the differing length of one leg, causing it to wobble! Had we identified a need to put a single chair somewhere in our house, that $5 wobbly chair would have lovingly rode the 270 miles back to Connecticut with us.

One of them the original is now closed up. It is just up the street from kings Homestead and sits on a corner property. This was the original wood shop where you could see the Mennonite carpenters. I say this because the saw equipment was electrified. Either way, they used to produce some very beautiful pieces out of that shop. The kings Homestead is very nice, but there is a lot more made from China offerings in home decor than there used to be. Don't get me wrong they do have a very nice selection of Amish made furniture. However, their prices have gone up significantly and they are no longer leaving you with the feeling that you've really gotten quite a piece for the price I mean you are getting solid real wood, but it is at a premium. We drive by Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture and see lawn furniture out front, my wife says they should have your hex sign. I walk into, it seems like Amish Oz. Beautiful handcrafted, both indoor and outdoor furniture. We're redoing our kitchen and looked for a kitchen set to replace our 22 year old kitchen table. We've been looking but haven't seen a set we both loved. Well, the search is over. Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture, you want everything in the store! We looked at a few sets that we really liked, when I came across this set I knew our search was complete. We started talking to the folks behind the counter, I tell them we need one more barstool for a total of 7 chairs. I'm told, let me contact the builder and see if he has any more in stock. 10 minutes later, the builder doesn't have any more in stock but will make one more chair, just for you?! I think I love you... How cool is that, this wasn't made on an assembly line but someone from the area made the beautiful table and chairs by hand. Delivery, I'm told them only take cash. They called my cell a few weeks later and came to, I like to see people struggle saying East Setauket NY, haha. Sure enough, they came and put together the table. We love our purchase and cannot thank you again Peaceful Valley Amish Furniture for getting the extra stool for us.

Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.

The staff are fine, but my main issue this place comes more from the regular customers and lack of regulations or expectations around behavior in the store. I've been to several prereleases here and I dont think I'll be back after multiple times men (sometimes with their kids present) Kept making sexist or straight up comments on my body or being female in a gamimg space. There is also a HEAVY issue with body odor here. This is not entirely the staffs fault, but I couldnt find staff members available to talk with about this issue, and was waved away when I did find one due to them being overwhelmed. Increasing staff numbers especially during high demand events would fix this. This is a great store, but I fear it is suffering from success in the numbers.

You can enter on the left side which is the retail store and if you go to the right by the cashiers they have a whole area set up for games with snacks and drinks. We picked up some D&D Supplies and my husband reminisced about his Magic days with the cashier. Both men at the registers were very nice and asked what games we were into and made recommendations on other mech we might like. Their selection is pretty vast and seems on par price wise with other stores in the area and online. They also had an area you could play test games and we saw people and families of all ages enjoying shopping and testing the games on display. The new store on Wesley Drive is HUGE. It might be a little hard to find but its located on the right corner of the plaza with the Peppermill restaurant, to the side/back of McDonalds. Parking can get a bit nutty and limited on weekends so just keep that in mind.
