Love the food at this restaurant but the service is the pits! Today was just another in a string of bad experiences.

Power Bowl (no zucchini) - awesome! Super fresh. Others in our party had the pancakes smothered in blueberries. Seriously, you couldn't see the pancakes - the waitress asked "You want Syrup" favorite quote of the morning. read more

Food was good, service was not. Despite the line, we did get seated pretty quickly. However, we felt that we weren't as important as larger parties. We ordered almost as soon as we sat down but it took well over half an hour for us to get pancakes and a sandwich. Meanwhile we saw larger parties that sat after us get their food well before us. We felt ignored by the waitstaff, asking multiple times just for a water refill. Even when we were ready to pay, our waitress never picked up our check. We had to flag another waiter down. read more

The 254 coffee is a brunch necessity. The food is pretty plain though meaning if I wasn't so lazy on the weekends, I could make these sandwiches and wraps by myself. Well the pancakes are decent, and I don't know how to make those so I guess those are worth it. read more

We went to the Olive Branch to try it out for the first time today. Not impressed at all. It was very busy and the waiter was one of the only few working the entire restaurant. He didn't tell us that when you ordered coffee, you went to go get it yourself so we we sat and waited for coffee that was never coming for a while until we had to ask. I asked for pancakes with a side of eggs and I substituted the meat for fruit. The waiter made it sound like the fruit and eggs would be included together but I ended up paying separate for each. The food honestly tasted like it came from another store. It was not good at all and definitely not worth the wait or price. It was a cute place in a remodeled old building, and we really wanted to like it but Bottom line: Not good service, not good food. We will definitely not be coming here again! read more

This use to be our favorite spot to meet and eat. The food had been wonderful and a great variety.....Sadly, they have changed their concept and menu. You now must go to the counter and order. I asked if there was anything gluten free friendly there, the gentlemen pointed to a display of all pastries. He replied, "nope!" We sadly left in search of a new meeting place to eat breakfast. Worse place ever. We were group of 7 and the food came in 3 waves. By the time the 2nd people got their food the first were done. It took so long after asking for napkins to get them so when they never showed up we had to go get them ourselves. Food was cold and with no flavor. I've been coming to Olive Branch a lot during my lunch breaks. Their soups are pretty good and served pretty fast, but their bread is a little too salty. My favorite soups are Chicken Enchilada and Broccoli Cheddar. Both are good, but others are good as well. Other than that, their sandwiches are pretty good at good prices. I like the chicken or tuna salad sandwiches and their breakfast croissant sandwiches are good as well! The environment is very homey and can get very busy/loud. A lot of people eat here, so the service can get really slow. If you're fixing to eat here, I would try not to go when you're starving because you might have to end up waiting a while. It's a good place to go to have a nice sit-in, not for a quick meal. read more

I love this place for breakfast. The food was great and so was the service. I had the American breakfast with a cinnamon walnut pancake substituted for the toast and it was fabulous! On another visit, the breakfast croissant was insanely good! The bakery blend coffee is great as well! I would recommend it to others. read more

Service was good but my order was subpar. Had a chicken sandwich that was somewhat bland with a side of what looked like Ruffles potato chips. Waiter gave us a complimentary brownie for the extended wait and having the wrong order. That actually made it worth going there. Looked at their desserts on display and looked promising. read more

This place is so cute! The bottomless coffee was great, I tried the breakfast blend. The servings are generous, my friend got a breakfast sandwich with two large sausage patties on it and my strawberry pancakes had plenty of strawberries. It was a great price for the two of us, only spent $20 for both are meals, a specialty drink, and bottomless coffee. read more

The ambiance is cute and the service is nice, if slow. The food, however, is subpar. The potato soup of the day was good, but the pesto chicken sandwich was abysmal. Dry and tough chicken breast that had been poached before being lightly browned and the pesto dressing on the bread and not the chicken. read more

Cool Place. Waco needs this downtown. New fresh concept with the best wine selection in town. They hosted an event this weekend that was amazing. Wonderful food, wine, and service. I came back the next day for the tasting event and had a plate made for dinner to take home. It was all fantastic. Staff told me that they had just started this new Concept and in a couple weeks they would be fully changed over to a combination of healthy portioned grab food, food by the pound to cook at home, fresh deli. Great place for brunch/lunch. I've been here multiple times and have never been unimpressed. Everything is good and comes out in a reasonable time. The reason I gave it four stars is because some of the chairs are a bit gross, with caving cushions and such. I love the veggie wrap and the quiche. The desserts are also definitely worth trying; my mom and I think the cupcakes here are better than the Magnolia cupcakes! read more

I was really disappointed in our lunch experience today. The prices are not bad, comparable to Waco, but not worth what you get. I got half a sandwich and soup, and I'm pretty sure my soup came straight from the can with some added herbs on top. My sandwich came with soggy bread. We were rushed through lunch and out the door as it was especially busy during the lunch hour and there were lots of people waiting. They do have a very nice changing table in the women's bathroom. This is a nice industrial style cafe that has the ambience of a warehouse that has been transformed into a rustic style cafe. The place is a seat yourself type setting and the waiting staff was kind and attentive. The food was large in portion and this is why the place doesn't get a four in my opinion: the potatoes I had ordered had a flavorful seasoning that would have been good in moderation but it was done in excess this time. Was really disappointed here. Driving from Austin back to Fort Worth and we decided to try and find a local place. We walked in and it was packed. We honestly didn't mind waiting. A lady has a big table and offered us the two seats she lad left over. As were waiting for service the waiter informed us that we couldn't sit there it was reserved for 5+ parties. So we decided we would combine with the other 4 to make us 6. Only to be told that couldn't work. As we tried to speak to the waitress once more about getting a table - she completely ignored us and walked away. We ended up leaving due to how poorly we felt like we were treated. We hope this post will simply teach y'all how to have your servers treat customers- not all of us are from Waco. Sadly disappointed that we walked into a Christian establishment and felt we weren't treated like so. read more

This is a great place to eat! They're food is fresh and so good! They have great breakfast! My husband went to buy me a breakfast sandwich here, not only was it a good price, it was very big! I had a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant and it was amazing! I was not expecting the size to be that big! Their lunch sandwiches are just as good. Also if your going to lunch, it's a great location if your wanting to shop afterwards! And for something sweet try their cookies! Your won't be disappointed. This place was a great place to relax after doing a little shopping. I had one of the BEST sandwiches ever! My mother and I shared the chicken pesto sandwich. It was fresh and packed with flavor. My father had the French dip sandwich and really enjoyed his as well. Our waiter was so friendly and came back several times to see how we were doing. The chai tea bag had an HEB tag. This should have been my first clue. This place smelled so good when we passed by a couple of weeks ago en route to shopping at Spice, upstairs. Smells can be deceiving. I ordered an omelette. The egg stuff was rubbery, cold and tasteless. The sausage was poor quality and greasy. Never did find the cheese. The potatoes were ice cold. My husband's scrambled eggs were marginally better. His bacon looked like the pre-cooked variety. He said it was lukewarm and he covered it in hot sauce. I've been going to Olive Branch for years, and now I'm going to their new express location off Washington. I'm shocked to see anything but a 4-5 review! Their ingredients are always so fresh and are high quality. Coffee is always great. Service is always friendly, though not 100% "with it" all the time. The current menu isn't as good by any means and is definitely not worth the price. Not to mention, the overall quality of food seems to have substantially decreased. I took my friends from Dallas to this cafe since it is local eatery for brunch during full service day.The decor in this restaurant is rather odd, i am not sure if they are going for rustic style or homestyle. We ordered TOB breakfast plate, salad with chicken, nutela candied bacon pancake and chocolate croissant. The bill was about $50 and the food quality is not nearly that price. 3 pancakes with nutella and a tablespoon of candied bacon was $11.95. I think you can feed 5 people at ihop with better quality of food for the price of $50. Chocolate croissant was not croissant at all. The filling was decent with the amount of chocolate but the croissant was not flaky. It was hard even it was warm. What a big disappointment! read more
