I think this place is a solid neighborhood dentistry office. I love the cleanings; the hygienist is thoughtful, clearly communicates and helped me find a problem with my gums when a multitude of dentists just waved it off as me brushing too hard. I also received Invisalign treatment here and found it to be good. Not sure if it's the best as I haven't gone anywhere else for it, but appointments were easy to schedule and the check ins (beside the original few fittings) were super fast. I'm happy with my results and glad I did it. Besides cosmetic reasons, my teeth clenching + teeth alignment we're putting pressure on my gums causing sensitivity and gum recession. Ive been coming here for years and thats an attestation to the great service my husband and I receive. The reception team has always been friendly and dont mind having kids in the waiting area. They use state of the art modern technology for xrays and viewing/showing your teeth to you! My cleaning experience has always been great and painless. I even convinced my husband to start coming here a couple years ago. We've moved 90 minutes away but continue to return because we are happy with their dental services. I am new to this dental office, but I've been shuffling around with many dental offices, so I personally look for a few things. 1. Receptionist - These people can make or break the business even if the dentist is the best. The older reviews are outdated in my opinion, but as of Q4 2021 I had a good experience. They're patient and technologically literate which makes the process that much smoother. Additional points as they send automated text message reminders when to reschedule for a cleaning as well as a e-COVID questionnaire to keep everyone safe. 2. The Dentist/hygienist - To be honest I have not met all the staff in the office so I will be basing my review on the staff that I've had the pleasure of interacting with. Peter is the "One and Only Dentist" (Pun intended) that I have had the chance of teeth cleaning. Let me say he's magical like Peter Pan, but do you know what else is magical and remove stains? Answer: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Peter is delicate and thorough like a Magic Eraser we all need in our lives. 3. Billing/health insurance - This will be on a per individual basis. All my insurance has been accepted, but I would always recommend calling reception (Read 1 above) and double confirming if they accept your specific insurance. It is always best to understand what your insurance will cover before entering any medical establishment. 4. Results - Everyone results will differ since everyone's teeth(situation) and history is different. I had a wonderful experience (X-Ray & Teeth cleaning), and came out better than I went in. I went in there for a tooth extraction and they billed both my insurances for teeth cleaning as well, which they did not preform. I am still trying to recoup the funds to pay an actual teeth cleaning that was performed by another dentist, but after 3 plus months of communicating with "Mariam", she is now refusing to take my calls and refuse to return the funds to either of my insurances. At my first visit the technician took all of about 7 minutes to perform a "teeth cleaning". After they took my xrays the dentist came in and told me I had 7 cavities. This was a huge shock to me as I take particularly good care of my teeth, floss and brush twice daily. I had not been diagnosed with a cavity since I was five. Instead of letting them go to town on my mouth and insurance I told them I wanted to get a second opinion first. Went to a reputable dentist i had seen all my life upstate who told me its good thing I sought a second opinion as I had no cavities and my mouth and I appeared to have great dental hygiene. I've been coming to One and Only Dental for about three years for check-ups and I've never had a bad experience. The office is very clean and everyone is super nice. I never had to wait for more than 5 minutes, which is unusual for a dental office. Dr. Braylovskaya is very knowledgeable and professional. She is delicate and thorough in terms of checking for cavities and teeth cleaning. She also fitted me for a mouth guard and did a great job ensuring a comfortable fit. Dr. Braylovskaya has been very accommodating in terms of last minute appointments for emergencies. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected piece of shell(?) in my food, which cut into my palette. I called shortly before closing and they told me to come in right away. Dr. Braylovskaya did an X-Ray and gently removed every piece of shell. Even though they were closing, she did not rush. I'm extremely grateful for such wonderful care. Recently, I came in for a braces/Invisalign consultation. Dr. Braylovskaya walked me through the different procedures and recommended the best option for me. I never felt like she tried to push any specific treatment and I genuinely felt like her recommendation took my needs into consideration, including time and money. During the X-Ray for the Fast Braces, Dr. Braylovskaya noticed that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed. She was able to quickly schedule the surgery and received approval from my insurance company. Dr. Shnayder performed the surgery without general anesthesia. The surgery was somewhat risky, but Dr. Shnayder made me feel comfortable and confident in his skills. He told me exactly what I would experience and walked me through the entire procedure. Once he was certain that I was 100% numb, he started the surgery and let me know when I would experience some tension. The entire procedure was done in 10 minutes and I was given an ice pack to reduce swelling. After the procedure was done, Dr. Braylovskaya came by to check on me. Overall, my swelling was minimal and I had no complications. I'm glad that I went with One and Only Dental. Now that the surgery is done, I will finally get braces. I've been disappointed by so many dentists in the past, I'm glad that I finally found this place. I've referred several friends and family members for a variety of treatments. The dentists and dental assistants are probably the nicest people in the office. They are caring, professional, and they can put you at ease even during most stressful situations or procedures. The office is clean, visits are more or less painless. Most doctors are knowledgeable and pleasant. I would love to give 5 stars - but due to quite a few unpleasant situations - I can't. HERE'S MY STORY: MIX UP WITH APPOINTMENTS Throughout the past couple of years, I've had multiple 'mix-ups' with my appointments, which were made months in advance. What the lovely receptionists would do is reschedule my appointments without informing me. I would show up at the office just to find out - my appointment was rescheduled, i.e. it's not today, it is in two weeks or so. It does not take a lot of effort to inform the patient, does it? It's about professionalism and integrity the front of the office lacks. So after I wasted my time actually getting there and waiting, they would make me feel like an idiot, since I came without 'reconfirming' - I'm sorry, I know when my appointment was made and I expect my appointment to be on the day I made it, unless INFORMED otherwise. They did that 3 times - made an appointment and then changed it. Twice without my knowledge. REQUESTING A STATEMENT God forbid you request your detailed statement - "Don't you have the one we gave you 9 months ago?" Well, if I had it, I wouldn't be asking for it, thanks. RESCHEDULING - CANCELLING I had to reschedule my appointment once due to a serious illness - I was treated almost like a criminal - "Why not, why can't you keep your appointment? What's wrong with you? Why can't you come in today?" And since when am I obligated to explain myself? The fact I was sick wouldn't sink in. "So you're canceling you appointment, let me note that. So you are confirming you're not coming today?" Yeah, well, people cancel or reschedule their dental appointments... It's called life - get off you high horse, I cancelled my appointment, I did not commit a crime. RUDE STAFF One woman in particular who's working at the front desk could definitely use extensive training - she isn't even aware how arrogant or rude she is to the patients. You work with people in a social setting, you don't know how their day has gone, you don't keep your snappy comments to yourself, be professional, be courteous, that's your job, isn't it? SIMPLE CAVITY FILLING At one point, one of the dentists was working on my cavity. They said it would be inexpensive to fix, took some X-rays - everything is all right. I'm completely relaxed, sitting and waiting for my doctor to come back. Two minutes later a woman I've never seen comes and starts talking about a dental implant and how it's going to be $3,500 - I'm sitting there flabbergasted, trying to catch my breath, heart racing. What the hell just happened? She didn't introduce herself, didn't say hello - went straight for the jugular. LEARN SOME SOCIAL SKILLS, PEOPLE! 2 STARS The two stars are actually for the front desk person/people, who continuously gossip and can't seem to do their job. DENTAL IMPLANT The doctor, who worked on my implant - who seemed very nice in the beginning, turned out to be a total butcher on my last visit. He stabbed me with a needle to the extent that it hurt for over a week. Then, without waiting for the shot to work, he started ripping the gum tissue right out of my mouth!! Unbelievable. Butcher shop? Also, he comes once a week (sometimes skips a week or so) - and it is impossible to make an appointment. At one time, I had to wait 2 months for an appointment that the office messed up. I will not be using these services. Ever. Again. Yikes - hope everyone else has better experiences. read more

I have a phobia of visiting the dentist due to some trauma when I was younger but finally realized that it was time for a check-up. My first visit in 3 years was not only quick but extremely pleasant! There was a short wait time before examination but it did not take long even during a Sat. I went in for cleaning and X-Rays with the intention of figuring out if I should have my wisdom teeth removed or not. Dr. Mariya Braylovskaya was professional, knowledgeable and quick with the whole process. She was able to discuss the current situation as she reviewed the X-Rays with you. They do a great job with cleaning and warn you when you may experience slight pain or discomfort. However, I did notice that towards the end of cleaning there was no fluoride treatment which is usually standard in most cleaning procedures. I'm not sure if fluoride treatments are not part of the cleaning package since I paid out of pocket but might inquire during next visit. I have no issues with billing or payment yet and they do explain incremental costs to your treatment plan which you can choose to omit if it does not suit you. I paid $150 for both cleaning and X-Ray (my insurance only covers select dentists that are part of their program) and chose to omit the cancer screening. I'll be back within the month for follow-up and will likely be a regular here. UPDATE: Came back on 2/22 for filling work and love my new composite fillings! They sure look better than the nasty metal/alloy ones that I currently have from 10 years ago.... Ive been coming here for a few years now and have seen a few of their dentists/dental assistants and have been very happy with all of them. The facility is clean, the people are nice, friendly, and informative. I used to come for Dr Lee but he left the clinic a while back. After that I had Dr. Goodman and she was great and helpful. Now I have Dr Jason and he's even better than the rest! The dental assistants I had before was Nicole who was very comforting and knowledgeable. Now I have Kristina(sp?) and she is also great and very friendly. Overall very happy with the service in the Brooklyn location. Only thing I wonder is why there is such a quick turnover in staff. i'm fairly new to this practice! I've been here about 4x and have a couple of appointments set up for the future, so I will be with them for a while :) As far as some of the other review goes, I hope my opinion sway you to try them out. It's hard to say what works for you as some people might have different tolerance? For starters: The receptionists - The girls who "works the front office" - I don't know why there is mixed reviews on the receptionists? Honestly, they have been nothing, but sweet to me. Every time I walk in they always greet me and answer all my questions. Certain days I ask A LOT of questions and never once have they been rude or short with me. There is 1 receptionist in the front, curly hair, I think her name is Christina (so sorry if its not), but she's been really easy to speak too. She books all my appointments and knows my face and name already after 4 visits. I feel like that speaks volume already if she made it a point to know who you are when you step in. They also keep me on track with text alerts and calls me the day prior to my appointment for a reminder. The Doctors - I read some reviews below stating that they are "brutal" and "butchers" and that patients felt they were in pain after their visits. My 2nd visit here I had a cavity that ended up needing to be extracted along with needing a bone graft. I was horrified that the pain alone will kill me - except it didn't. And I didn't die haha. The whole process was easy. The doctor numbed me up and KEPT asking me if I was in any pain. There was 1 moment where I felt a twinge of pain, but he quickly gave me another numbing shot to put me at ease. It wasn't even an intolerable, bolt-out-of-your-chair pain, but the Dr. wanted to make me feel comfortable. The extraction and bone graft went surprising well! I was even able to go to work the next day AND they called me at work just to check up on me. That's pretty good customer service. I've also seen Dr. Mariya for fillings and even though she doesn't speak a lot - she speaks volume in her work. She is thorough and fast. Anytime that I felt uncomfortable, she is fast to stop and let me catch my breath. She also makes sure i'm comfortable. Honestly, I'm not sure where the mix review comes in. I do have to say everyone has different pain threshold and sensitivity. If you're expecting "pinch free" shots or an experience where you felt no tugging or pulling, kind of like you just went to sleep and woke up done, you're kidding yourself. They are working in your mouth! It's basically an open wound where your tissues are soft - you should expect some pulling and tugging, but you shouldn't experience death alarming pain. It's like getting a tattoo - you know there will be moments where it might be uncomfortable, but you know what you're getting yourself into. You know it might hurt. So if you're seeing a dentist, because you have a cavity or you need a root canal, you're only there because you let it get so bad that you HAVE to go see them. Basically, if its painful, its because you let it get to a point where its infected. I think if you have a low threshold for pain - you should opt for sleeping gas so you don't feel anything. Bills/Statement - Never requested a bill or statement. I don't have insurance and every time I make a payment I always get a receipt. If I'm having major work done, they give me a print out of what needs to be done and how much each process cost. All in all I like visiting them. I never felt like I was being pushed out or rushed. This place uses so much numbing medication you literally cannot feel a thing! Great right? WRONG! They use so much to insure you leave feeling nothing at the time to feeling sensitivity you never had before because they would hit a nerve and you can't feel anything! -- saying THEY would be wrong but this place had a Chinese dentist here that ruined both my teeth and my boyfriends. After getting my cavities done here my teeth became sensitive and this happened to my boyfriend as well. Not only are both our teeth sensitive, this dentist broke my boyfriends tooth during the process of filling a cavity! FYI I am Chinese so I am not being racist. After the ordeal with this place my boyfriend and I were not coming back. ONLY to receive a $50 charge for a missed appointment! If I don't confirm. It means I AM NOT COMING! One of the best experiences I've ever had at the dentist. From the moment I called to make my appointment down to when I left the office, it was absolutely great. I saw dr.Goodman and Nicole. Fast but horrible service. They numb you and be extremely rough with you. My mouth hurt for a week after a simple filling. That's never happened before with other dentists. They are accommodating to fit you in if you are in pain. I also did a root canal and it was so painful that I forfeited the money i paid and never went back. I went to this clinic for an annual check. I did not have any pain, I always take care of my teeth well. The doctor took the x-ray and he told me I had one caries to the left side and make an appointment to do the tooth. When I went to the clinic for this appointment the doctor check the x-ray and he did three-tooth to the right side without any explanation. After the visit, they told me that I would have to do 6 more teeth and at that moment I found that they were lying to me because my insurance was covered everything they thought 'Let's make some money from this guy'. After the visit, I had very bad pain in the teeth they did. I went with them after 2 weeks and asked some questions and they were so unpleasant because of these questions. The doctor said that the pain was normal, but then I went to another dentist and she told me the fillings were not done well. I also show to her the x-ray pictures before the fillings and she told I did not have any problems in these teeth and in the one and only clinic they did this because of making more money. Also, the lady from the front desk is awful, she is so unpleasant. I asked her one question and she had the face like she want to tell 'I am tired of you Get out of here.' A five star in every way! This office has a very professional and compassionate staff that cares greatly about its patients. Dr. Mariya Braylovskaya is the best at what she does. She is very delicate and caring during her treatment. During a check up she cleanes teeth, takes X-rays, and checks for cavities and etc. just for the price of $150! Following the check up she explains thoroughly which teeth need treatment and is more than happy to explain the treatments and process. She then gives the patient time to decide when and what the patient wants done first....she does not rush you! Her office also has the highest technology ; such as where she displays the patients X-ray on the screen above from where you are seated and takes her time to show you places in need of treatment. She also uses high quality material such as for fillings. I have been to many dentists in the past where i have been given amalgam ( the metal/black) fillings without being informed. Dr. Meriya on the other hand uses a high quality composite filling and informs you what she puts inside your mouth. She has informed me about the black fillings I had in my mouth and even replaced them for me ! while explaining the different ones dentists use. The collections agency called me saying that they need to collect a debt, one that I didn't know or was informed about. The office never notified me of the aforementioned debt or give a reason why my insurance company disapproved the bill. When I spoke to the lady at the reception she said I should have received several notices or calls regarding the outstanding debt. I never did and I called them to find out why, the lady at the reception said they will find out and call me back. This was over a week ago and nobody has returned my call. Very bad service and my credit could have gotten ruin because somebody in the office dropped the ball. read more

I went to this dentist because they were a participating dentist with my insurance Health First. The work was satisfactory for the work done such as deep cleaning , fillings, and root canal. When it came to the crown they said that the insurance would only pay for an all metal crown because it is a molar in the back of my mouth and a porcelain and metal crown is considered cosmetic and more expensive and would not pay for it. The dentist said that they do not do all metal crowns and my insurance company helped me find a dentist in the neighborhood that would do an all metal crown. There are two sweet girls at reception that are very kind and helpful, Nicole the hygienist, who is sweet, very caring, thorough and gentile. I then seen and loved Dr. Mariya, but it so happens to my surprise to hear that Dr. Mark Herzog who was my dentist from many years ago, (but because he no longer took my insurance I needed to find another dentist, which was a task at hand!), I was extremely happy to hear Dr. Herzog is now apart of The One and Only Dental Group. Worst experience ever because of staff,NOT the dentist.I went for a consultation with Dr Iyman Elashmawy at 2250 86th Street in Brooklyn NY.I have Blue Cross Blue Shield FEDERAL plan and Met Life Dental plan.I explained to Sally that she has to bill Blue Cross Blue Shield first because they are my primary and then bill Met Life.This needs to be done for the Federal plan.Every other dentist office I been to knew this.Sally kept telling me I am wrong.She said Blue Cross Blue Shield is not a dental plan and she doesn't need to submit a bill to them.Then Sally tells me I have a $23.10 co payment.I never had a co payment with Met Life.I tried explaining this to Sally and she told me I had to pay it so I did.I went home and called Met Life and they told me I DO NOT have a co payment.Then Met Life said they have to Bill Blue Cross Blue Shield first,like I explained to Sally.Then I called Blue Cross Blue Shield and they again said they must be billed first.So I called the office to speak to Sally and I explained that both Blue Cross Blue Shield and Met Life said that Blue Cross Blue Shield must be billed first.Sally said they are both wrong.She explained their billing dept has been doing this for 15 years.I asked her if she can call Blue Cross Blue Shield and she refused.I asked if I can speak to her manager she said they refused to talk to me.I then asked if I can talk to their billing dept and they also refused to talk to me.I called Blue Cross Blue Shield again and I asked if they can call her,and they did.They explained to her that they must be billed first.Sally tells them she already submitted the bill to them.I needed over $9000 worth of work.Ill give it to another dentist instead.Again,I am NOT blaming the dentist.UPDATE.After posting a copy of my review on their website,Sally calls me up and said they no longer want me as a patient.I guess they thought I wanted to come back?UPDATE 5/8/2018:I called Sally for my $23.10 refund and she told me I am not getting the money back.Again,I asked to speak with her manager and the manager refused to talk to me.I told her Ill have Met Life Dental give her a call and she hung up on me.Met Life put me on hold and tried calling her three times and she didn't pick up the phone.Met Life shows on their caller ID.What kind of business is this?Met life is upset because The One and Only Dental Care is in their network.Met Life gave me a list of places to report them.Once I hear from them,I will update again.UPDATE 5/14/2018:Someone else called me and said that they called Met Life and I am not entitled to a refund.So,I called up Met Life again,and they told me I AM entitled to the refund and they called the dentist office again.Then another person called me and totally apologized.She said I was right about them billing Blue Cross Blue Shield first,and that I am getting the refund put back on my credit card.Its almost a week and still no refund.Guys,stay away from this office.UPDATE:5/17/2008.One and only dental responded to this complaint.You said I have multiple insurances.You said you had to call all my insurances.I only have 2 insurances,so you had to call all 2 of them?All this could have been avoided if Sally listened to me and billed Blue Cross Blue Shield first,like you were supposed to,instead of telling me I am wrong and I don't know what I am talking about.Now you know YOU were wrong,on who to bill and about the co payment.I know you said your billing dept has been doing this for 15 years,maybe in another 15 years you will get it right.You are asking me to leave your practice?Again,after my reviews,did you think I was coming back?? read more

I love One and Only Dental. The dentist and staff were so nice and friendly, and did really quality work for a great price!

My husband and I both got cleanings here and had a great experience. Our dentist was Maria who was great. She was sweet, professional and let you know what was going on as she progressed. I went back to fill a small cavity. Only waited 5 min to be seen and Maria got down to business. I would dare to say, as far as fillings go, the best dental experience I've had.
