As a parent and someone who has practiced TaeKwonDo myself, I've come to deeply appreciate what The…read moreOne TaeKwonDo offers. From the moment we joined, I knew we had found something special. This school is not only a place for martial arts training but a space where students are genuinely nurtured, respected and inspired to grow. My son came in with prior TaeKwonDo experience but what he found here was more meaningful than simply continuing his practice. The instructors are incredibly encouraging and know how to bring out the best in each student. They are able to push and motivate without being overly strict, which is a rare and beautiful quality in martial arts instruction. Their guidance is rooted in support, and it shows in how excited and confident my son feels after every class. What touches me most about this school is the environment it creates. It goes beyond just teacher and student. There is a real sense of community here, something that feels much closer to a family. The students are treated with care and attention, and the respect flows both ways. It is clear that the instructors see and value each child not only for their potential in TaeKwonDo, but as people. I came from a more traditional background in TaeKwonDo. One rooted in old-school methods that were strict and, at times, even harsh. That approach instilled discipline and resilience, and for that, I am thankful. But being at The One TaeKwonDo has opened my eyes to the strength of a different way. This more modern, compassionate approach to teaching doesn't compromise on excellence. In fact, it brings out a deeper and more sustainable love for the art. It's shown me that structure and discipline can absolutely coexist with encouragement and empathy. There is profound power in this way of teaching too. I'm especially grateful for how understanding and considerate they were when it came to helping us with my son's gear. They made it easier for us to get what he needed without placing pressure or urgency on us. Their kindness in that moment is forever treasured. It was handled with such calm and respect and that gesture will always stay with me. Master Kyra is an incredible presence at the heart of the school. She's always approachable, consistently kind and carries herself with such calm strength that I've found myself hesitating to reach out as I'm worried I might be bothering her; only to be met with the same warmth and patience every single time. She makes time for every concern and never loses her warmth. It is clear that she leads not only with skill and experience but with genuine care. Her dedication sets a powerful example for everyone around her. Master David brings a steady strength and quiet wisdom that perfectly complements the atmosphere of the school. Together, their leadership shapes a place that truly uplifts. The younger instructors, too, show impressive skill and maturity. They are not only technically knowledgeable but they also bring patience, positivity and a real attentiveness to the students especially the younger ones. It's inspiring to see such heart in all of them. You can see it in every class, in every correction offered and in every smile shared. From a practitioner's perspective, I can see that the structure of their program is thoughtful and effective. It's well-paced and balanced, challenging without overwhelming, and it encourages progress in both physical ability and personal discipline. Watching my son flourish here has reminded me of why I fell in love with TaeKwonDo in the first place. It has even inspired me to consider returning to my own training. To Master Kyra, Master David and the entire team at The One TaeKwonDo, thank you. Thank you for creating something so much more than a martial arts school. Thank you for giving students a place to grow not only as martial artists but as people. Your work is meaningful and lasting and I am deeply grateful for the impact you have had on my son and on me.

We could not have asked for a more empathetic, wise, skillful and talented dojo/masters for our kiddos! We highly recommend The ONE to any family looking to start their Taekwondo journey! Kira was actually able to get my shy 3 yo on the mat and moving around. At the end of the class he didn't want to leave!
