I drove thirty miles to try the fried pies, why... no idea. Call it boredom in a hotel room at its finest. It's a small diner serving fried pies, burgers and chicken. Is it fancy? No. Did I want fancy? Also no. The woman working the counter was a gem, 10/10 for her alone. She went through the whole menu, gave suggestions and recommended a meal deal where I got a little bit of everything. I went with a cheese burger which is made with ground brisket they grind themselves. Was it the best burger I have ever had? No, but it was good. I also got seasoned fries which were really good. There's a Lowry's type seasoning with garlic and what they call rib seasoning- I enjoyed them! For the fried piece went with Oreo cheesecake. It came out first and fresh out the fryer. I assume you get it first so it can cool down. It was the size of my hand! It also tasted like a grown up toaster strudel in the best way possible! I ordered 3 to take back with me. I have been working about five minutes from this restaurant for over a year. One day I finally decided to stop in and have a hamburger. Wow! I have been back at least four times in the last two weeks! They have a great lunch special which includes a junior burger (which is very adequate), a generous helping of fries, a drink, and your choice of a fried pie. All this for $10.99! This very well may be the best burger in town. I brought my wife back yesterday and she had the chicken sandwich and said that it did not disappoint. So far I've had the apple, peach (2X), and lemon pies. So far, the peach pie is my favorite. The staff is very friendly, and they play the music I grew up listening to from the 50s and 60s. First time to any Original Fries Pie Shop! We read reviews which were mixed but decided to try anyway. My wife and I were impressed by the entire experience! Store was very clean, staff very friendly and food was great! I had the double cheeseburger all the way with fries and my wife had a single patty melt. My burger was cooked correctly and all toppings were fresh and tasty. The burger patties were well seasoned and very juicy! Fries were cooked crispy and also very tasty. My wife's patty melt was excellent as was her fries. She wanted a chocolate shake for dessert and I had a cherry pie. Hit and miss. Food: When it is hitting, it is soooo darn tasty. Fried food that is not greasy, perfectly seasoned, and cook to order fried pies. The double cheeseburger is tasty. This place honestly has the BEST burgers I've ever had. Extremely juicy & flavorful. I think they use ground brisket and not regular ground beef, which I think is the key for how delicious the burgers are. The bun is super soft & not dry, fries are homemade and the seasoning on them is delicious. They make their own ranch in house but their spicy Mayo is my favorite. Coming from california I wasn't use to a fried pie & this was the first place I've ever had them. Geezus christ that Oreo cheesecake is so addicting and their chicken pot pie fried pie is just so home tasting if that makes silence, so much flavor without it being salty. Their burgers are very good and the fries are hand cut fresh, not frozen. The fried pies are delicious, and they offer savory ones along with fruit pies or cream filled ones. At the end of each day, the pies that haven't sold are put into a freezer and will be available the next day at a reduced price. If you go around lunch time, I wouldn't recommend being in a hurry, because good food takes a little longer to make. The double burger with jalapeños, was massive, compared to any other place in the burger business. I'm not a fan of nickel and dimming for cheese, and toppings. I WAS SUPER MAD TO GET CHARGED 2X FOR CHEESE BECAUSE IT WAS A DOUBLE BURGER! Their drink sizes max out at 32 ounces, which was a bummer if you are in the drive thru. This is a no frills burger joint. It's clean, little old looking but food is great. When you walk in you will Be greeted by a very friendly staff. You will see a refrigerated section full of fried pie ingredients that are made at your request. Trust me, they have more fillings then I would ever wish for. The menu is pretty much either hamburger baskets and chicken baskets or individual burgers or chicken. I highly suggest adding some of the extras, i usually get fried jalapeños. The meat is delicious but lightly seasoned. They have the standard condiments at no charge. And then about six add on ingredients (fried jalapeños)to flavor your burger the way you want.(cost extra). The fries are great and they give you enough to share. You could even share a whole meal, burger and fries... But I don't my meal with drink runs about $10. Well worth it. there is plenty of seating and the dining room has an old-timey family, pull your chair up with another table type of atmosphere. Side note: This is a family run business. I've eaten at Fried Pie Shop many times but today was an exception. I was exhausted from a doctors appt. and it was already after lunch time so I thought I'd call in a window pick up order. This place does not disappoint! I love their fried pies. Every time I come through Little Rock I simply must bring some home for my wife and children. Who would think that a meal in the form of a fried pie would work so well? My wife loves the spinach and mushroom pie. I go for the comfort pie, which is a potato and sausage pie. And of course, the chocolate, apple, and peach pies are great. The only thing I don't like is that fact that their menu shrank. I was looking for the BBQ pie today, but they no longer have it!
