It is located in the old Maryland Fried Chicken across from Pollards Corner. It is clean and very simply decorated. Pine walls and a few Georgia Bulldog decorations and inspirational plaques. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. On a Friday evening there were about a dozen folks eating in although there was a steady stream of to-go customers. There were three of us dining: my mama, my daughter and myself. The stars are an average of our ratings. Mama voted 2 stars, DD voted 3.5 and I voted 4. Mama and DD ordered the catfish filet choosing lima beans and squash casserole and a biscuit/collards and onion rings and a corn muffin respectively. DD also ordered the side of 3 shrimp for an extra $4.99. I ordered the fried shrimp with lima beans and squash casserole. The good: all the proteins were cooked well. The catfish was tender and flakey with a light coating and the shrimp was very well cooked and tasty. We also agreed the beer batter onion rings were well done. The okay: Mama found her lima beans "dry" and unseasoned but I thought they were fine. She didn't care for the squash casserole but I liked it and thought they had used fresh squash. DD said the collards but should have been cooked longer. The breads were all passable if on the smaller side. The not so good: we ordered a crab leg cluster on the side and it was pretty paltry. The meat was hard to get out of the shell and the promised melted butter never got to the table. We also ordered 2 desserts to share and didn't care for either. The most egregious was the banana pudding which looked like an unappetizing gray mass. DD said the banana wasn't ripe. The peach cobbler was the better of the two but after hearing folks rave about it I expected better. We didn't finish either dessert. The total with a 15% tip was $67. They close at 7:00 and serve Pepsi products and tea. Dd ordered the tea and said it tasted sour and she ended up swapping for mountain Dew. As an added note the couple next to us had a pizza that looked fabulous. They told us that they always get pizza and the crust and sauce is made in house. If I did make the drive again it would be for that pizza!

We have wanted to try this place for years. The couple times we tried it was closed. So today we…read morefinally made it. And it was a disappointment. There is a nice big parking lot so that's good. Walk in and see all the fish. The decor is trophy mounts and the counter has seafood on ice for you to look at. Order at the counter and they give you cups for your self serve beverage and a number for your table so someone can bring out your food when it is ready. Megan and I both ordered off the specials menu. I had the flounder and shrimp platter, Megan had the salmon Bahn mi. My plater was was one thin flounder filet (flounder are flat so that's ok), five shrimp, four hush puppies, and fries. The flounder was corn meal breaded and kinda bland. The shrimp were not shrimpy. Not bad but not good and with a thicker batter. The hush puppies were small but very good. The fries were batter coated and looked like typical food service fries. Megan's sandwich looked good but the salmon was over cooked and tasted earthy. Salmon is a fish, salmon live in in the ocean. How are they earthy? Anyway Megan said the best part of her meal was the fries. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. This place gets a lot of love but I'd eat at Captain D's for better food for way less money. My plate was $27 and Captain D's is currently advertising a fish and shrimp plate for $7. I will be reviewing that one soon.
