Wonderful people and truly wonderful food! Great friendly service and everything we ordered was terrific! We ate here for breakfast. My wife ordered the pancake with bacon plate and I had 2 biscuits with country gravy and tenderloin. All was delicious, but I have to say that the gravy and biscuits were just warm, not hot. We still plan to go back and try the hog fries and Colby pie. Do stop in, or you'll miss out. read more

Our favorite when traveling for Beefmaster cattle sales. The food is always great, breakfast and lunch. Friendly staff, super cute place and clean. Friends always buy their whole pies and said the coconut cream is best around. Just wish they offered hot tea at breakfast. read more

Great place for lunch...we have been working in the area and I think I have tried everything on the menu and it's all good. Consistently great service and great food. One if the only places in the area with a salad bar. Don't drive through the area without stopping for a sandwich, smoked chicken, or breakfast! read more

Great little place. We had the reuben sandwich and BBQ sandwich. The home fries were yummy too. It was a very friendly place too. Visited this place today and it was filthy and all of the tables were full. It took forever to get my burger which was under-cooked. Then to my surprise I found out that the owner takes his employees tips and gives them to the "ministry" which I am pretty sure is illegal!! Will never eat here again. Only game in town and looks like a gold mine for the owner. Joined my brother and sister-in-law for breakfast and after 2 hours left very satisfied. Place is busy, omelet and the grits were pretty darn good. Hash browns were just okay. The fresh just out of the oven banana pudding was exceptional. Omg! This place is A-Maaaaazing! We've eaten here twice and have been blown away by the food both times--everyone in our party. First time I had a bologna sandwich. It was the best bologna sandwich I've ever had outside of my own kitchen. This isn't Oscar Meyer bologna. My nephew had the burger and loved it. My husband had the BBQ sandwich. Smoky deliciousness with just the right amount of sauce. They offer hot and regular BBQ sauce; he had the hot. Home fries are discs of potatoey goodness. Best sweet tea around. On our second visit I ordered the baby back ribs plate. I cannot say enough about the delectableness of this dish. Pork and beans were like none other and they sure as heck didn't come out of a can. My slaw had bits of pickle in it and was lightly seasoned with a hint of dill. It had a slight tang to its sweetness-- not overpowering. Just damn good. Got a hunk of toast that was homemade with a dollop of butter. Husband had the yard bird which was a fried chicken chicken sandwich made with more homemade bread, their delicious spicy white sauce, lettuce and maters. He said it was the best chicken sandwich he has ever had (and he is a picky eater and hater of all things processed). We also shared a bowl of banana pudding. Wowowowow!!!! Oh yes, there was the pudding and the Nilla wafers at the bottom. It was topped with meringue! The pudding was sweet but not too sweet. The earthy sweet fruitiness of the bananas complemented the meringue nicely. Do not hesitate to try this delicious food. Loved this place! The atmosphere is laid back and has a homey feel. I ordered hamburger steak w/ gravy and homefries which are the bomb! Also you have to order the Colby pie!! Best pie ever! Homemade ice cream! The peach was great. I will be back again when I'm in the area. The staff were so welcoming and the visit isn't complete without seeing the resident rooster "Foghorn Leghorn ". Smoked brisket and ribs are delicious as well as the sides. All staff was so friendly and inviting. Enjoyed the Christian music and artwork. Beautiful rustic atmosphere. Both convenient and delicious! The Outpost has consistently produced good food, from breakfast to dinner, but the friendly service and atmosphere are what truly make this place so enjoyable to visit. Personal favorite menu items include the smoked chicken and the variety of burgers. The country store attached to the restaurant also has plenty of baked and canned items to choose from. What a cool place. We actually ate here years ago when it was just 2 buildings. It has grown immensely since then though and has several more buildings in the works. Several things to do and see while you wait for a table. As for the food?? Incredible!! My son and I split the full rack of ribs and they were divine. His baked potato was about the size of a football. Potato salad was great as well. I thought the ribs couldn't be topped, but my wife ordered the "Hawg fries" and my life was changed. That was my favorite thing. I also had a side salad that was good too. Overall, I would highly recommend this place off the beaten path. read more

My first experience at the Outpost today. I will definitely return. The BBQ plate with potato salad and baked beans was great. Just the right seasoning in the sauce. And that infamous Colby pie was so delicious. My guest had the BBQ boneless wings. They looked super. And smelled super too. The service staff was most friendly and dry punctual. Always on time with drink refills. And all wore smiles that said they were proud to be there. The prices on the menu were very reasonable. Especially compared to portioning. This will be marked in my favorites for dining out. read more
