It was pretty good We went there for Mother's Day for our first time so the prices were higher than what they claim are normal which still wasn't the problem.​ are waitress however offered to bring us to go boxes and our ticket before we were even halfway through with our plates and we weren't eating exceptionally slow or anything. Also the other wait staff were standing around the door to the kitchen glaring at us repeatedly throughout our meal making everyone at our table very uncomfortable as it was my husband myself our daughter and her friend that took me out for this dinner. After reading some reviews my wife and I were hesitant about trying this restaurant again. We've been eating on and off here for 18 years and there have been good and not so good experiences. However, the food this time was very good (catfish tacos and the catfish filets) and there was more than we could eat so we took the rest home. Our server was very friendly but she was obviously overworked. That would be the only negative, they were fairly busy but were understaffed. Especially for a Saturday night. We went in for a drink and appetizers so that we could sit out on the deck and watch the sunset over the lake. It was perfect. We had a very attentive waiter named Andrew and the bartender named Katie. Both of them so sweet and helpful. They have an impressive draft beer list, with a lot of local breweries represented. We went with kids and they loved the fried pickles. The newly renovated lodge is something to see! I will definitely be back for a meal. read more

The views of this place are 5 star, it was beautiful and clean inside as well. It started to get weird when we asked if we could sit in the outside dinning area they said yes but only if we wanted our food in to-go boxes. We agreed since it seemed like a small price to pay. But they brought the check with our food and did not attend to us at all outside. There were probably only 4 tables with people inside and what seemed to be 4-5 servers sitting and talking in a closed section. We had to find them when we needed anything like extra ketchup and a refill. When we asked for a refill they seemed very hesitant and bothered although we just paid $70+ for our meal? The food itself was the most basic version of the meal you could think of. Similar to unseasoned hospital food. It was edible. The grilled shrimp was decent. 0 star service, 1 star food, 4 star ambiance (unless you factor in the bad vibes from the staff then 3 star ambiance), 5 star view of the lake. read more

Food is great and the location is beautiful and convenient, I just hope they can get better service in time for summer. Even the staff admits to how short handed they are and can be heard complaining even to patrons of the restaurant. Lots of potential, hoping it improves! read more

Since the renovation of the Inn and restaurant there is something missing. Went there for lunch on Sunday after church. We were seated in a corner out of view of all the servers.....apparently. After 15 minutes and no one came to even take our drink order I personally went to the waitress station and asked if we could get service. The girl there said it was not written down that we had been seated???? She went into the kitchen and did not come back. At that time we decided to go elsewhere. There were about 8 people waiting to be seated and the restaurant was not full. About 16 people in it. The view there of the river is really nice but the view is not on the food menu. Before the renovation there was ALWAYS a line for the buffet, which has been eliminated. This is in a rural area and with this type service, it is doubtful we will return there. read more

I live in Pickwick and this is one of my favorite places to go! The best chicken tenders EVER! Shrimp and grits are amazing most of the time (I had them a little too salty ONCE out of several times- hey, humans work here!). The onion rings are so yummy...The view is amazing. One can stand and enjoy the breeze on the balcony, or sit in a comfy chair indoors under a gorgeous vaulted ceiling in the a/c and imagine they are anywhere between California and Georgia enjoying the beautiful view. The service varies between ok and AWESOME, but it's always been WORTH THE TRIP for me! I have had to wait a few minutes on a drink refill or my ticket before, but USUALLY when I have had to wait it is because they are super busy and are still short staffed (crazy to me because it's such a beautiful place!) I have noticed girls standing around on phones before and been perturbed, but mostly everyone is working really hard! I would recommend this restaurant for enjoying a nice, relaxing meal with friendly staff in a gorgeous environment! A hidden gem! read more

Have been to the restaurant a few times since it's renovation last year. It looks great and the view is fantastic. Unfortunately the service is inconsistent. A few weeks ago was in for lunch with family and the food and service were excellent. I recommended to my daughter and family and while they said the food was just OK, the service was not good at all. Last night took a visitor over for drinks in the attractive bar and dinner. The hostess seated us in the bar overlooking the lake nearing sunset. Lovely! Said our server would be with us in a moment. The bartender was busy making drinks-had a couple of folks at the bar, and table of 4 including 2 children, and 6-8 guys dinking beers and eating dinner. She was busy, but completely ignored us...not a "be with you in a minute", or even "I'm too busy to mess with you". Just completely ignored us. Nothing. A server came in and out a couple of times, chatted with the bartender and the guys seated at the large table. She, too, never acknowledged us. It was like we were invisible. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we got up and left. The hostess asked if everything was ok. And we explained the situation. She apologized and offered to see if there was another server, but we declined. Couldn't believe it!!! Hope it gets better. Really want it to do well, and the lodge looks great, too. But be cautious if you decide to go right now it's extremely inconsistent. Gave two stars because of the view and the sunset. read more
