We had an Airbnb very close to this place and got a reservation through a site that got us 50% off the bill. The food was amazing. I'm writing this review late and forgot to take down what we were eating. But especially with that 50% off it was more than worth it! The service is great and we enjoyed a few appetizers before our meal. The chicken breast tasted like it had brined and was very tender! I'm used to chicken always being on the dry side, so this was an awesome change for me. It was pretty empty on a week night at 530pm (we were jet lagged and hungry early) but it started to fill up towards 7/8pm. I walked by it later at night since we stayed so close and it seemed busy at the bar. This was easily the best meal we had while in Bondi. We stopped in for breakfast and were not disappointed that we did so! We'll start with the food and drink. The coffees were delicious and a good size. I opted for the Morning Glory, which featured a healthy portion of perfectly cooked asparagus, a poached egg, haloumi, and a smattering of kale and mushrooms served on "charcoal" bread. The veggies were delicious and filling, but not heavy, and the entire dish was perfectly seasoned. My partner opted for the Vanilla + Bircher porridge. It was a huge helping (too much for either of us to finish), but was also delicious. The restaurant itself was a great location and nice on the inside. Service was also top notch. I walked in around 6:30 this evening with my daughter and partner wanting to have a drink and an appetizer at the bar and was turned away because I didn't have a reservation. I didn't know I needed to have a reservation to have a drink and bite at the bar. The manager was extremely rude and not the mention the restaurant was EMPTY at the time. For everyone wanting to come to Sydney right now DONT this country is backwards and afraid of it's own shadow. read more

Having arrived in Bondi the night before from China we were starving and popped in The Pacific club for breakfast. The interior is absolutely gorgeous ! The smell of the wood burning from the open kitchen and the friendly staff were our first impression that this was probably a good choice. Well we were 100 right. The food was amazing !! The ingredients were so fresh and the chef definitely knows how to use unique ingredients perfectly without being too over the top how cool can I make this dish. We got the egg in the hole and the bondi omelette and they were really really excellent. Can not wait to return for dinner. read more

Went here for dinner while on vacation in Australia. It was somewhat overpriced and the menu was nothing spectacular or memorable and the service was decent. The menu is just regular "American/Grill" fare, so nothing really stood out. The food was fresh and simple, so I can appreciate that aspect. The ambiance was beautiful and the cocktails were delicious. I think 4 stars is a fair assessment for this restaurant. read more

This was a disappointing experience to say the least. From the moment I arrived the hostess' face indicated she neither liked our beach based dress sense, or lack of high fashion linen shirt. Understandable when you are attempting to only appeal to the outwardly wealthy along the Bondi strip. As a local of 30 years I was incredibly disappointed with the service in the venue - it would have been faster to seat, order, and cook for myself. Given it was moderately busy I was willing to forgive the surly attitude of the hostess and ignorance by staff, but the clear conduct is deplorable. I was forced to watch as groups arriving 20 minutes later had their food and drinks delivered before us, despite our 20 minute head start on ordering. Granted, we did order toast with Jam, which for a high end establishment I understand can be difficult to master. On the plus side, the coffee I had was delightful, albeit slow enough that I could have roasted my own beans while waiting. Great fit out and styling - ruined by the most pathetic and apathetic service team I have ever seen in a food venue. read more

Terrible Service - An Extreme Let Down We went to the Pacific Club Bondi Beach on a Wednesday night last week around 8pm. As a long term local I pass the Pacific Club almost daily, and was waiting on the right opportunity to try and experience it. As the decor looks fairly special, I decided to go on a special occasion, a very special catch up with a CEO friend of mine who was over visiting from Singapore. The experience could not have been more of a let down. Arriving at around 730/8pm the venue was only 1/3 full when we arrived to enquire about a table for 2. On enquiring we were abruptly and rudely told by the Maitre-D named Elaine, that the kitchen was too busy and that we would have to wait approximately 45 minutes to be seated, and that the 2/3 of empty tables were being set for booked guests. During our entire time at the venue, only 2 other couples arrived and all of the other "tables that were being set for booked guests" remained empty (which was not surprising). At this point we felt incredibly embarrassed and that the Matire-D had immediately taken prejudice against us and did not want us to eat at the establishment. We advised Elaine we were surprised as there were so many free tables and all but one table outside was free. We advised we would be happy to sit outside if that would assist. Elaine became agitated and advised that the kithcen was busy, and that the license for the outdoor area was only up to 9.30pm. Being only 8pm and there being only two of us we still could not understand her rude and abrasive and unwelcoming attitude towards us. We relented and Elaine advised that she could put us up at the back by the bar and we would have to just wait for unreserved tables to come up. We were then ushered right to a corner right at the back of the restaurant and told we could order drinks in the meantime. After waiting approximately 20 minutes at the back, we observed that no new customers had entered and that the apparently multiple 'reserved tables' remained empty. There were approximately only 5 other seated tables and no large groups so we also could not understand how the kitchen could be 'so inundated' and the several wait staff were simply standing around speaking to each other (as was to be expected when there was not many patrons). On ordering our drinks, we again enquired from Elaine how it was that we could not be seated on one of the tens of tables both inside and outside the restaurant which now clearly appeared empty and unreserved. Elaine became frustrated and advised us, not to tell her how to do her job - and that she had repeatedly told us that we could not be seated until she said so. At this stage, knowing that I was about to simply get up and leave, my friend asked politely to speak to Elaine privately. On their return, Elaine advised us that as it was well before 9.30pm still she was happy for us to have our drinks at one of the many tables outside and that she would then set us up at a table inside. As the night went on, only two other tables arrived, and we were left astonished that we had to be put through such a terrible ordeal simply to be treated courteously and welcomed. Throughout the evening Elaine continued to be extremely abrasive and abrupt to our table, having a clear prejudice against us - I am not sure whether it was based on our race, sex, or otherwise; but it continued to make us feel extremely uncomfortable for the whole evening. By the end of the evening we had spent over $400 between the two of us on drinks and food, and had been subjected to the worse service I have ever experienced in Sydney and Bondi. Being a local who lives doors from the Pacific Club, and member of many of the local clubs who take pride in Bondi, including Bondi Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, Ice Bergs, NBRSL, Rotary etc I am absolutely appalled at the treatment and had to repeatedly apologise to my guest and friend. I certainly will not be recommending The Pacific to any of my business or friends network. Avoid at all costs read more

chef has an interesting palette but the food was on the salty side. good view for people watching, and decent cocktails and wine. the wait staff could be trained to be more attentive. perhaps better for lunch than dinner. read more
