First, there was more than enough parking to accommodate our guests. We had 14 kids in attendance. Second, the place is nicely decorated with lots of attention to detail and more space than I had anticipated. We had booked 2 princesses and they did not disappoint. They were in character for the entire duration of the party, including when the kids were eating. They were engaging, and kept the kids entertained and having fun. The host was super friendly and helped with serving food and cake, cleaned u up after without ever making us feel that we were rushed. I highly recommend this place. A little girl's dream come true! I first went here for a princess story time they host and loved the atmosphere of it! Cute setting, songs and story by Anna, and pictures! It was free last year but they've now started to charge for it (which still isn't too bad). For my littles' birthday, I decided to go with a Frozen theme and booked a princess through The Painted Palace. I was a little worried since my venue was in downtown Seattle, but the "Snow Queen" came through! The joy of the littles (and even the adults!) was truly magical! Everyone was pretty quiet when she came in but she knew what she was doing - she interacted with everyone, stayed in character the whole time, and made the birthday one that I will never forget (oh, I mean my girls')! Everyone also commented at how true to the "Snow Queen" she looked and although you can't really specify exactly which "Snow Queen" you get, just trust that the person they send will be en pointe! Wonderful experience and priced fairly compared to other "princess parties". Highly recommend! read more

Full disclosure, I visited this place when it was palettes and pairings in Kirkland years ago and have been to probably 7 other places like this since and have those comparison to go by. The painting activity itself is super fun and pretty simple for even beginners, kids and men. However, I think there are better places nearby that accomplish the task at the same price but better quality and here's why: 1. My group of five didn't have any alcohol drinkers. We specified this on our reservation but upon check in were told to "just grab a soda out of a box or get water out of the water cooler." Quite a step down from the champagne, wine, beer that others were drinking. To add insult to injury, the weird open cooler with boxes inside had random snack bags on top. However, we were told those snacks were all additional cost. All other locations I've been to have had some kind of fruit, cheese and treat complimentary with your booking. Including the old palettes and pairings location. 2. The instruction itself was difficult to follow and made a finished product that was pretty unlike the "model." Of the seven paintings I've done at other places, this has been my least favorite finished product by far. 3. The overall ambiance is not great. The "bartender" came in once to see if people needed wine refills. The drink area is in a completely separate area so it's almost an afterthought. Also, there wasn't even any music on for half the class so it was pretty quiet and mellow. As people ran out of paint, had supply issues, etc there was a lot of confusion on what to do. In other places, it's made very clear where to go for everything. Overall with a few simple changes, I think things would be a lot better. Like a menu of offerings, more organization in the paint room, and a little more instruction practice. read more

New "Core Memories" at 7th Birthday! Princess Belle was the best! My daughter will remember this party for the rest of her life, and I will, too. It was wonderful to witness. I saw so much awe and admiration and fun in the faces of each little girl (and my son), and there was almost as much in the adults watching. Everyone was enthralled and enchanted. Belle never missed a beat! I met her outside to give her the rundown on the party and she was so much in character that I was in shock that I was talking to the "actual Belle" that I forgot to warn her about my daughter "sending her an invitation" and "meeting her at Disneyland", but when those things were brought up she rolled along with it in the most natural way. She sweetly comforted one little girl who accidentally locked herself in the bathroom with stories about her father being locked in the Beast's castle and sympathized on how scary that was. We did the 45 minute meet and greet and it was perfect. They did a story, game, dancing and singing (Belle's voice was beautiful), crowning ceremony, autographs (on an advert for their other princesses), pictures with each girl, and happy birthday. My 4 year old daughter and I had a great / memorable time here. The girls ( princesses) were lovely and did assume their characters through out the whole two hours we were there. We had tea and cookies with them.... pinky finger up and it was all cute. Later, the little girls and princesses gathered around to sing and dance to various popular disney songs. I had such a great time at Painted Palace! We had a hard time finding it but it's on the second story inside the Redmond town center. We were greeted warmly by 2 ladies at the front desk. We bought a groupon for 2 online and made reservations before coming in. We both received one free drink (choice of red/white wine or beer). I got the pink spritzer which was sweet and delicious! My BF got a Stella. After the first drink, it was $3 for beer and $5 for each glass of wine. I ended up getting one more glass of the pink spritzer because it was so yummy! I have never painted before so I was excited but nervous about how our paintings would turn out. Our teacher was fantastic at leading the way and helping everyone as needed. She would repeat instructions as necessary and invite people from the class up to her canvas if anyone wanted to see her techniques closer up. She gave us enough time to complete each step and gave lots of tips along the way. To my surprise, my painting turned out great! I think anyone with any amount of experience would enjoy the class. There was a boy around 10 years old who loved it and their was a lady across from me who was an experienced painter. She painted the Chicago skyline and asked the teacher questions about how she could enhance it. After 6 months, we were finally able to reschedule for a paint and sip. Here's my update: We arrived about 10 minutes until 7 as it seemed there was a strict start time. We were greeted warmly upon entering and offered a glass of wine. We walked over and found our spots and figured we wait for a few minutes. It seemed as if there were some issues getting everything set up because it wasn't until 7:25 that we got started. Keith (I think that was his name) was a one-man-show. He greeted, got us drinks and set up paints, then taught the class. It took a long time to start as a few people showed up late and there was a paint issue. It was a good experience, Keith was friendly, and the painting was fun, however the wait at the beginning and having to rely solely on one person to do everything was kinda a bummer. It would be awesome to get another person in there to help him out and be more efficient. Nobody asked for more wine (I think I heard there were 19 painters) because it seemed like it would interrupt the session. Having another person really would have sealed the deal. Either way, we walked out having a good time and with some decent art. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

Ambiance: The store is divided into two areas - retail and painting area. The retail area feels a bit cramped due to all the products they sell as well as the paintings that can be found on the floor. The décor is very cute and girly as it's painted with pastels. The art room is pretty big. The instructor has an easel and a TV monitor at the front of the room, so you can see what you're supposed to attempt to paint. Hehe. Overall: $30/person is a bit pricey, but my family and I went since one of our relatives has never been to a paint and sip. I recommend this for first timers, so that they can have a more professional experience. However, after that - I suggest turning to YouTube and hosting your own event at home. It's way cheaper. :P I noticed that one of the beverage options is my go-to and costs about $6 at Fred Meyer, but they were selling it for $5 a glass. Choice is yours. LOL Heads up: They have their own entrance to restrooms, so you don't really have to leave the studio. Additional drinks are $5 each. Also, if you accidentally get paint in your drink and tell your instructor, she will tell you to ignore it. More specifically, she said, "It won't hurt you. We have had plenty of people drink some paint. In fact, some people have even accidentally drank their paint water." Then, she just turned around and resumed painting ... so be careful from the get-to as you most likely will not have a new drink provided. read more

The website will double charge you and then the owners will send you a rude email telling you to cancel the dispute and "work it out" with them directly. Just had Princess Repunzel at my daughter's 6th birthday party. She was absolutely awsome, and so was Stephanie, her assisstant. Repunzel stayed in character throughout the whole party, and was both entartaining and extremely patient with our young guests. She interacted with everyone perfectly, made beautiful face painting while conversing with each of the girls about her princess adventures, hosted story time, danced, sang in her lovely voice, and taught princess lessons. Purchased 3 vouchers on Groupon to do painting with my girls. It ended up being the summer of surgeries and we were running out of time to use them. The girls picked out some paintings they wanted to do and I emailed the Lynnwood location to see about getting in a class. I was informed that you can only do Family Painting class photos and to look thru the gallery. Unfortunately my girls didn't like any of those photos, so I decided to sell my vouchers. I messaged the business to see if my vouchers worked at all locations because I had a buyer, but my phone message went unanswered. By the time someone responded to me I figured we might as well just use them...my girls could just buck up. Every time I tried to set up online it would just stop and not let me put in all my codes. I was so frustrated and ready to just be out the $45. I finally received a call back and the lady on the phone said she would take care of it. We went down 2 days after my daughter's bday, all the way to Redmond Town Center....which I've never been to. We were a little early so we could get some breakfast, but when we parked I realized I had no wallet. Not a penny to my name. So my girls were starving and I was just done. It was early for the class, but the lady let us come in and sit while she was setting up the room. The place filled up quickly, and the instructor was cheery and welcoming. The room is full of paintings, and large murals, perfect for taking photos, having princess parties, etc. The class was painting a cupcake, and as the class went on my girls hunger pains and frustration got the best of them. The instructor continued to be positive and encouraging, making sure to keep the pace right for everyone. We finished our photos and had to hurry and rush home so that we could get my wallet to eat. It's a long drive...which would have been worth it had we been able to spend the whole day down there. If you live close it's a great location, great staff, and lots of fun ideas for old and young. I haven't done a group, birthday party or corporate event here, just the regular paint nights. I've done four at this location and have really enjoyed all of them. The instructors are patient and seem very professional. Tonight my friend and I were the only ones registered for the class. The instructor let us pick any painting we wanted! She even put up a slideshow of 100 paintings for us to choose from. They supply the paint and canvas. One glass of win too, although I just have a Diet Coke. It's a fun girls night out. Very similar to Canvas in Kirkland, but a little more intimate and with better music. read more

This was my first visit to the Painted Palace. I've been wanting to try painting for a while and finally went at the behest of my friend. It started off shaky for me, but after I overcame my lack of courage, I had fun with the encouragement of my friend. She was a bit bummed that it wasn't Elizabeth who was going to instruct us that night. The gal we had was nice, but we both felt it was confusing and a bit difficult to follow. The painting didn't real match the model, and one of the gals had to mention some lack of details with the model and what we were putting on canvas. Whoops. By this time my friend and I decided not to put that other detail and call it a night. Overall okay experience, I am willing to go back to try another session. I don't offer write reviews. Words of warning for anyone about to purchase a ticket or use a Groupon to purchase a ticket: the website defaults to two tickets and so it will over charge you 40$. At least this is what happened to me and it must be fairly common because they have it written in their policies that they provide NO refund even do to error, even if you write them immediately after making the error and asking for a refund. They also have terrible customer service and are very slow with responding back. What a rip off. I'm sure the painting and wine are fun but there's a million other places to go that I'm sure are much more honest. Best of luck and triple check those fees before hitting submit!! read more

We absolutely love this place! My daughter is obsessed with princesses and The Painted Palace offers so many ways for her to see them. The actors and actresses are fantastic, never break character, and truly capture the likeness of the princesses. It feels like you really are meeting the real deal!
