The art camp my daughter has just completed in Kirkland location was a joke. It was basically a daycare with a little bit of drawing. The "drawing" meant kids were copying some pictures, with minimum of instruction - really boring. The "craft" project was coloring the photo frames - so fun, huh? The instructors' attitude was somewhat weird: they could barely say "hi" or not even notice you at all. It seemed they didn't care about the whole thing. They charge you $305 for half-day week camp, and yet the instructor said out loud they couldn't afford watercolor paper, so kids were using card stock one for watercolor drawing. Unbelievable. Initially, I was thinking about enrolling into one of their art classes during the school year. Needless to say, it's off the table now. And it's sad because we were looking forward to this. read more

What a fun hidden gem this studio is! My daughter had a fantastic week at AL studio Kirkland art camp! She came home w/amazing canvases, projects, new skills/techniques & a few new friends. She also started the week as a half day camper & ended up extending to a full day because she enjoyed it so much! She also has gone in on random Saturdays for an "art afternoon" & has always comes home happy & with incredible pieces she's proud of. Definitely worth it! read more

My sons attended this camp 2 years in a year. Last year everything was good; they had fun and brought home nice art projects, so they asked to return this year. This year, however, our experience was somewhat different. First, the children were supposed to spend half of the day in Weaverly Park. They did not go to the park on Monday and Friday. On Friday, instead of the time in the park, they spent time watching a full-length movie. I do not think it is appropriate for the camp. I realize that the days were hot, and Weaverly Park was scheduled for the afternoon but they could have easily switched the schedule and go to the park in the morning and paint in the afternoon. Second, one of my sons had just had his cast removed from the broken arm before camp started. I gave specific instructions to the camp teachers (even left them in a written form on the first day of camp) to remind my son to wear a sling when he goes outside with his camp group. I, of course, instructed him as well, but he is 8, so I thought that letting teachers now that it was a necessity would help ensure that he was wearing a sling in the park and on the street. I learned that he forgot to wear the sling on Thursday and Friday (and possibly on Wednesday), and teachers did not remind him to do that. In sum and in general, I am disappointed with this year's experience - we won't be coming back next year. read more

The conversation reached a new low when the person threaten me saying "You want to calm down if you want your daughter to have a spot this summer". Very bad customer service, bad attitude and I got a threat from them. I signed my daughter up for summer camp in May and got a confirmation order. 2 months passed, I called to double check the the scheduling, to my surprise my daughter was not signed up because the payment didn't go through. Naturally I am panicking because my daughter was looking forward to it. I tried to resolve the issue but the attitude that I got them is "we didn't receive your payment, we classes are full, there is nothing we can do". Firstable, they online sign up system is bad, that's why I got an order confirmation but the payment failed. Secondly, they do have record of me signed up but because the payment failed so they just ignored it, no one tried contact me. Basically the attitude is "if we didn't get your money then it's not our problem". I tried to contact the manager, but I was told she doesn't have an email address and do not have a direct phone number that I can contact and they only forward the issue to the manager if the issue is "bad enough". I can email their generic address, it'll take up to 2 business day for someone to reply. I got very frustrated because it seems like they do not care/understand the situation. My kid had a bi-week summer camp at AL Studio and love this art class. Instructors are very nice and helpful. My kid enjoys learning drawing from instructors and playing with other students as well. He said he want to enroll for next camp. read more

My experience was awful! Please don't think to use this place for parties or private lessons. The instructor taught a kindergarten class. No one could understand her and she made us do the whole prep work! She was lazy and the class wasn't fun. I paid $300 and I feel it was a rip off! I will not use AL service again, nor will I recommend anyone to use their service unless you want a D class service. Please, please don't use them for a party or a private art class. The whole school and mother's weren't impressed. read more

Very dissatisfied and disappointed with the online class my daughter took in April of 2020. My child seemed to understand more about art and how to draw than the instructor did. There were numerous issues including technical problems, the audio kept going in and out, the connection was extremely grainy, there was also a language barrier which made it difficult to understand the little instruction that was given. My child was actually trying to give tips to the other child in the class. They were both so frustrated. It was supposed to be a 090 minute class, but after just under an hour my daughter asked me if she could end class early. I said yes, as I didn't see the point in continuing. There was no learning happening. read more

My 4 year old did the 6 hour summer camp this week. She loved it and didn't want me to pick her up. The teachers were friendly and did a great job guiding her to make some beautiful artwork. We will continue with weekly lessons in the fall. read more

This is an excellent studio! Teacher Ms. Taotao is very experienced and very good at help young kids develop art interest and skills! We love its studio which is peaceful and open. Everybody have a professional drawing board with perfect light source next to you. Kids are very happy there and I am amazed at how they beautiful they draw after only a few classes. My daughter goes to regular weekly class and summer camp. She likes AL Studio very much and we can see her significant process she had made in art. Teachers are really nice and patient to young kids. I especially like the art show section which help kids to understand their paintings, improve their express abilities and skills. We definitely will continue learning here. read more

Under the guidance of Tao, the owner and the teacher, she explored different techniques and different styles. Tao really knows how to teach each and every individual based on their unique interest and skills. She knows how to motivate them and teach them how to express themselves from art work. Tao Tao is AMAZING and I'm so impressed with her new art studio. When you walk in, you will be impressed right away with the layout and the beautiful pieces of art displayed on the walls. However, more impressive is what she teaches to the children. The students of this art studio, including my own, love taking lessons here. My daughter attended camp there for a week and she has loved it so far. She has come home with artwork that she is proud of and also reports having a good time. A couple of issues: the space is awfully small for so many kids. The space designated for the kids' backpacks and lunches is chaotic and disorganized. Their summer camp page states that snacks will be provided for the kids but so far no snacks have been given to the kids. After I realized that on the first day, I started sending her a mid morning snack. It would be a much better experience if they made the improvements mentioned above. read more

We (me and my kid) really really love this art class. Tao Tao is a hands on teacher and she explains things wonderfully to my boy who is very much into art. She has kept his interest alive with increasing his skills at the same time. My son will be coming here a long while for sure!!! read more
