    Shredded beef tacos
    Jen F.

Located in the Co-Hatch building in the food court area. The tables and seating are in a shared space, and there's plenty of spaces to sit down and enjoy your food and drinks, while maintaining social distance if you need to. We originally showed up there to get waffles at Iron Works, but they'd just closed. So we weighed our options, and decided to try The Painted Pepper. We both ordered the shredded beef tacos with chimichurri, because they sounded delicious. We really enjoyed the tacos. They did not scrimp on the beef. I was also happy that the beef wasn't chile braised or greasy. The radishes and cucumber were a nice touch. Loved the cholula packets! Would definitely eat here again if we find ourselves in Springfield again.

Absolutely phenomenal. Delicious. Amazing. I mean seriously this place is TOP NOTCH. I got the breakfast burrito, and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection and the tortilla was heated just enough to have that nice crisp without being too much. The service was great and the workers were really friendly / helpful since it was my first time. The food was quick and hot when it came out. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

What a hidden gem!! When we travel we love to find small,non-franchise type places to eat and this fit the bill. It's in a really cool co-working space called Co-Hatch. Think office meets food court. Pros: staff was really helpful, food was amazing, good portions and prices where very good as well. Cons: none This is a great place to go!!

Love it. Full of flavor. One burrito is enormous. You won't be disappointed. I'll make the trip for the goodness.

To say we were not disappointed is an understatement; we were stunned at how enjoyable the experience was. Everything.. EVERYTHING about this place is wonderful. Service was very attentive, friendly and helpful (and our waitress had only been working there 1 month.) The overall ambiance was stimulating and captivating. Stimulating because the music Powerhouse 60s hits from Ray Charles, Tom Jones, the Beatles and more was a *perfect* choice to enjoy yet not disrupt quiet conversation. Stimulating because the decor was so unique and interesting. And because just the vibe of everyone in there really enjoying themselves was palpable. What about the food you say? Every ingredient of all 4 different taco choices we made was wonderful; fresh, tasty and well prepared and presented. It's not very close to us but we are already excitedly figuring out when we can get back there - and I'm confident we are going to become regulars. It's a small place so going at peak meal hours might risk waiting. They have about 10 tables as well as another 8 or 10 stools at the bar. We did not drink so cannot review that aspect. We were told the place had come under new management in the last few months. As well as that place seemed to be functioning, we would never have guessed that. PS I didn't know until we ordered that they were giving free tacos to veterans, so that's a really cool mark on their patriotism and sense of community. PS 2 Small warning: The bench seats at the east (entrance) wall cut off circulation in my legs.

Got a seat at the bar and ordered a NA mojito and it was delicious, and also at only $5 I appreciated the price- sometimes NA drinks are as much as the full alcohol kind. Great attentive service and friendly chats with the employees. I went with the nachos which were SOOO good. Nachos are one of mh favorite foods, so I know good nachos- especially loved the pickled onions and that there were tons of toppings. My friend got two tacos with beef- can't remember the exact kinds but he enjoyed them. Such a great spot and will be back.

Literally right off I-70 (exit 59) in the BP gas station parking lot on Rt. 41 S, this food truck is GOOOOD!! Pretty extensive menu for a food truck, definitely something for just about everyone, from apps., breads, entrees, traditional drinks and desserts. I wasn't 100% excited about my dal makhani (spicy lentils w/rice) but that's on me, not them. It was a little too soupy for my liking, next time I'll try something else. My paneer paratha was a great alternative to the usual na'an, MUCH more flavor... I'd go for that option, or something similar, again. I asked for extra chutney, the green was great but the red was a watery mess. VERY reasonably priced, quick and friendly service, what's not to like? I'm almost POSITVE they'll get that fifth star from me on my NEXT visit!! Namaste, Nawab!!
