I want to take the grand kids there but no one ever answers the phone and no way to leave a message. Is it even open anymore?

Yes it's open but I wouldn't recommend you'll be waiting to get your pieces for almost a year. We went in and painted pieces in February and it's now September and we still haven't received them and they won't pick up the phone

This place was fun, i went by myself on a friday where i got off of work early. I went to the story but the beer place that sells growlers (tiny town and trenton) and i was pleasantly surprised. I wish i could actually have made the pottery piece that i painted (false advertising, i think) but that's ok. On Wednesdays they have a military appreciation day where you don't pay $6. Anyways, i picked up a sea shell jewelry box, $15, and painted it for about an hour to an hour in a half with little to no distractions or bothering from the employees. I was kind of annoyed that i had to keep getting up and asking for more paint like a child but i understand. There are a lot of children that go there with their parents and if they were to give me the paint tube, they might think i'd abuse it. So i paid about $23 in total on that Friday, because i didn't go to the Wednesday special, but all and all it was a good time. I'd go there for a date :) it's cute and it gives you time to think and chat if you bring a friend.

TLDR: very rude service. Wouldn't recommend. We were probably in there for about 4-5 minutes before anyone came up to us which was fine. The woman asked us if we had been to their location before and we both said no. She then pretty rudely stated we needed to go wash our hands before we could do anything. The act of washing our hands was fine, it was just how it was said. She acted as if we were an inconvenience to her day. Also, if washing hands is major concern then maybe they should have someone greeting customers. There were maybe 5-6 other customers in the store already painting and they did not seem overly busy. We both washed our hands and went back to select our pieces. We both got a bad vibe so we decided to leave. Once we left my friend said she overheard the employees talking about us as she washing her hands. If you are looking for a place to paint pottery and don't mind the drive we both loved The Hot Spot in Springfield. They were super helpful and attentive and had lower prices than this store. Only downside is the drive.

I would go again and again. It is so relaxing and therapeutic. I'm going to plan a date night here for me and my husband soon. Please check this place out. We looked through the Project Gallery, which had quite a variety of signs to choose from, and each of us selected a different one to make. These were the first signs any of us have ever made. They provided us with all the quality materials, tools, and personal instructions need for each project. The entire staff was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable with the variety of projects we choose from. Emily, was a godsend! She was very patient and detailed in answering our questions. She even assisted us when we doubted our ability. Kathy, the owner, was right there helping as needed while working with another group also. We never felt rushed. We brought a charcuterie tray and drinks with us to nibble and sip on as we worked. Such fun!! Keep in mind when picking projects and setting aside enough time to complete them, that the smaller signs could take an hour, the large ones can take two hours, and the real big ones can take even longer. Plan accordingly. I would definitely return to Hammer and Stain - Mt Juliet for more fun!!!

Vibe: The studio is a cozy, creative space accessible to adults, kids, teens, or anyone looking for a break. The studio has plenty of seats for groups of two or more. They also offer a small refrigerator with water and Poppi for purchase. Selections: Each table is stocked with painting supplies, including a variety of brushes, paints, sponges, and water, while a large table provides additional supplies. The pottery is displayed prominently, ranging in size and style from mugs, bowls, coasters, figurines, to ornaments, with around 400 pieces to choose from, so there's something for everyone! I visited during the fall, so they had a great selection of fall and Halloween-themed figurines and ornaments. Service: First, the Brushfire team is incredibly polite and helpful, guiding first-timers through the process. While we're painting, they handle the glazing and firing of the pottery. The turnaround for finished pieces is about a week, but the studio holds onto them for up to a month in case you can't pick them up right away. Value: The basic studio fee is very reasonable; the cost mainly depends on which piece you choose to paint. Prices range from $5 to $80. I chose a figurine priced around $15, and I felt it was quite fair. Note: Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, since this place attracts a lot of couples and families. If someone is very particular about fine art, this studio might feel more like a hobby-level venue rather than a professional gallery, which I think is perfect for someone like me, who doesn't have fine art training. I loved my experience here, it's a fantastic place to create a handmade gift or a personalized piece for yourself. The studio offers tons of options, making it fun to craft something unique!
