I took the intro to wheel class with some friends on a Sunday evening and we loved it! None of us had ever used a pottery wheel before. We had an easy time finding parking and then went inside to check in. It's a beautiful studio, very spacious with pretty plants and even a cat! The instructor, Abigail, and 2 assistants were great. Using a pottery wheel is much harder than it looks, so everyone needed help and somehow they helped us all. Everyone made 1-2 cups/bowls. I enjoyed this experience a lot and haven't ever done anything like it before!

Looking to try something new or to spend an afternoon with friends being creative and artistic, this is the place to go. I signed up for the handmade mug class and everything from arrival to leaving was organized and super fun! I arrived and was greeted warmly and they had a cute cat that greeted me as well :) Abigail taught tbt class and was super talented and kind. I appreciated her patience as I am not a skilled sculptor by a means and this was my first time taking a pottery class. The class attendees were great and it was such a fun, peaceful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. What I enjoyed the most was that I came alone but not once did I feel that way being among others and focused on what I was creating. Can't wait to be back! Book now you will not regret it!

They showcased the work of a local artist. Nice Community.

Hidden gem. The private classes are so much fun. Highly recommend and will be back for more classes.

Vibe: The studio is a cozy, creative space accessible to adults, kids, teens, or anyone looking for a break. The studio has plenty of seats for groups of two or more. They also offer a small refrigerator with water and Poppi for purchase. Selections: Each table is stocked with painting supplies, including a variety of brushes, paints, sponges, and water, while a large table provides additional supplies. The pottery is displayed prominently, ranging in size and style from mugs, bowls, coasters, figurines, to ornaments, with around 400 pieces to choose from, so there's something for everyone! I visited during the fall, so they had a great selection of fall and Halloween-themed figurines and ornaments. Service: First, the Brushfire team is incredibly polite and helpful, guiding first-timers through the process. While we're painting, they handle the glazing and firing of the pottery. The turnaround for finished pieces is about a week, but the studio holds onto them for up to a month in case you can't pick them up right away. Value: The basic studio fee is very reasonable; the cost mainly depends on which piece you choose to paint. Prices range from $5 to $80. I chose a figurine priced around $15, and I felt it was quite fair. Note: Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, since this place attracts a lot of couples and families. If someone is very particular about fine art, this studio might feel more like a hobby-level venue rather than a professional gallery, which I think is perfect for someone like me, who doesn't have fine art training. I loved my experience here, it's a fantastic place to create a handmade gift or a personalized piece for yourself. The studio offers tons of options, making it fun to craft something unique!

We looked through the Project Gallery, which had quite a variety of signs to choose from, and each of us selected a different one to make. These were the first signs any of us have ever made. They provided us with all the quality materials, tools, and personal instructions need for each project. The entire staff was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable with the variety of projects we choose from. Emily, was a godsend! She was very patient and detailed in answering our questions. She even assisted us when we doubted our ability. Kathy, the owner, was right there helping as needed while working with another group also. We never felt rushed. We brought a charcuterie tray and drinks with us to nibble and sip on as we worked. Such fun!! Keep in mind when picking projects and setting aside enough time to complete them, that the smaller signs could take an hour, the large ones can take two hours, and the real big ones can take even longer. Plan accordingly. I would definitely return to Hammer and Stain - Mt Juliet for more fun!!!
