While we certainly give credit to the lovely couple and their families, Brigalia's certainly played a large role in making it an unforgettable affair. The facility is more of a complex, with separate buildings where ceremonies are held that are connected by cobbled walkways, as if they were illustrations in children's storybooks. We're talking beautifully manicured landscapes and structures that fit neatly into the complex, so lots of opportunities for some great photo ops! The reception was held in a large ballroom with an amazing lighting package that would rival Taylor Swift's wedding at MSG. The room itself is a large open space with a grand staircase, very tastefully and formally decorated. Now darlings, be prepared to chow down. The fare is abundant, decadent, and delicious. Come here with the expectation that any diet you might be following will be thoroughly negated, and hours and hours of Stairmaster fun will follow in the days ahead, but it will be worth it. Drinks...:::hiccup:::...enough said here. Your Host kept *some* semblance of control and didn't get tanked (IIRC). STAFF: The staff here were top-notch: friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Moreover, they ALL went well above and beyond to keep guests happy. They all had a great rapport with the attendees and with each other. The catering food was not pleasant and lacked flavor. For an event where students and families are paying a significant amount of money to attend, the food quality should be much better. Another major concern was that a wedding was taking place at the venue at the same time as my daughter's prom. Students were restricted from taking photos near certain statues and areas because of the wedding, even though wedding guests did not appear until the very end of the night and were primarily located in a separate room. It was frustrating to have photo opportunities limited throughout the evening for an event that was not actively using those spaces. If the venue cannot reasonably accommodate both events without impacting the prom experience, then they should not schedule a wedding and a prom at the same time. I've heard that other local schools have experienced similar issues at this venue. When students are paying hundreds of dollars to attend prom, they should have full access to the venue and photo opportunities without unnecessary restrictions. Lastly, the venue felt much smaller than expected for an event of this size. While Brigalias is visually appealing, the food quality, limited access due to another event, and lack of space made the overall experience less enjoyable than it should have been.

I remember, as a 13-year-old, hating the same chicken parm buffer dinner with the lifeless potatoes and the tasteless green beans. So when my then-fiance suggested Auletto's as a possible wedding venue, I balked at the idea. It wasn't until we sat down with Jim Auletto, the owner, that I realized I had no way of appreciating Auletto's for a wedding from the lens and experience of a 13-year-old. We had our wedding here in January 2008, and it was such a memorable, beautiful, wonderful experience! From day 1 when we first sat down with Jim to the last few minutes in the space the night of our wedding, the staff had been so helpful. We had a lot of our own ideas that we wanted to bring to the table, and Jim has done a LOT of weddings there - he was able to lay it out for us what he's seen work and not work in the space. We brought in outside lighting, but decided to go with their preferred centerpiece floral vendor rather than taking on that task ourselves. Even their wedding cake vendor, Termini's, was fantastic. All we did was email them a picture of what we wanted and our cake type and frosting picks, and that was it. The space itself offers a really unique wedding experience, particularly when it comes to their wine cellar for the cocktail hour. Our guests raved about they ceremony overlooking Lake Almonesson in the Terrace Room, then heading downstairs to the wine cellar, and then back up on the other side to the fully decorated Grand Ballroom. It was a very neat series of transitions. I'm sure Auletto's is lovely in the spring and summer, particularly for outdoor weddings and with their new outdoor tented area, but the dark interiors with hints of japonnaise decor suited our winter wedding perfectly. I realize now, that when you're paying the big bucks for big ticket events like a wedding, the food is a LONG way away from the default booster association buffet options of middle school. The menu choices are many, and our tasting, as a result, was delicious. The night of the wedding, the food was impeccably prepared with generous portions, and the wine selections perfectly paired. We went with Filet Mignon, Chicken Savannah, and Sea Bass- my husband and I can speak for the filet (mouthwatering, buttery, HUGE), but our guests loved the other two options as well. Auletto's was also quite accommodating to any special dietary needs. The prices do vary by season; peak wedding months will certainly pay more. But since we were in the lowest-off-season wedding month, Jim threw in a lot of deals and extra upgrades to keep our business, making our wedding truly beautiful and memorable as a result. In fact, Jim made the whole wedding venue process so easy, it was the one part of our wedding we didn't have to devote much stress to - we knew we were in good hands. I definitely recommend this to other NJ brides and grooms looking for an elegant venue for their wedding.

Inside is a very modern nicely decorated hall. It's also very clean. The staff were wonderful, they kept the food hot, the bar tender was all smiles and very upbeat, and I never noticed a speck of unattended empty dishes/cups. As the wait staff promptly cleared our plates, they kept the buffet food line hot and neat, the cakes were to die for! I mean they should be on one of those reality television shows about cake battles! I'm certain the organizer of this party I attended will have more parties here. This place is in a great location with a private lot. We had over 100 people and the bathrooms stayed fully stocked/clean. This staff was so excellent that when the party was over and the lights were turned back on, the place was already sparking clean. (we weren't a messy group but you'd think we all just arrived!) Some food for thought, we did bring our own soda and we hired a DJ (http://www.supremeproductionz.com/) who setup the lighting and speaker system. We rented the hall from 7 to 12 so you are able to have late parties here. But I don't need to go to a buffet to get a waffle. Most things in the chafing dishes (mussels, fish, potatoes, etc) were either dried out or too salty and just tasted terrible. The turkey sausage was so dry and weirdly textured I am not sure it was even meat, let alone turkey. The bagels and other pastries and breads were stale and poor quality. The desserts were especially bad. The big sliced cakes and all the little tiny cakes looked pretty but taste awful - fake whipped cream and too sweet cheap tasting frosting made them nearly inedible. I saw chocolate covered strawberries when I walked in but when I went for dessert they were gone with no replacements forthcoming. The tip was included for our party of 9 but she didn't deserve it - there were several times we needed something and there was no one in sight for long periods. We won't be returning.

We are very lucky that they we have the opportunity to go back to our venue each year since a lot of venues are only limited to special occasions like weddings and showers offered in their banquet halls. The Sunday brunch is your quintessential Sunday brunch. They have a made-to-order omelet station, fresh waffle press, carving station, along with over a dozen options served in chafers. The options range from scrambled eggs to chicken Marsala. They also offer a range of bagels, pastries and salad dishes. There is a great variety of options without being overwhelming. The apple stuffed pancakes and the carved turkey were by far my favorite dishes during my most recent visit. On our reservation we noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and we were welcomed back with open arms. Our table was covered in rose pedals and we were provided a complimentary glass of champagne to enjoy with our brunch. JoAnn, one our wedding coordinators, was on site during our recent and came over to say hello to us and catch up. Even years after our wedding, the customer service at Scotland Run is top notch. Everyone we encountered a few years back was a pleasure to work with especially JoAnn and Kelly. Let me premise by saying that not every venue is right for every couple, but Scotland Run was 110% perfect for us. From start to finish, we were in fabulous hands and had the event of our dreams. No bride ever thinks there will be rain on her wedding day, and that was certainly something I hadn't planned for. No biggie, Scotland Run had a contingency plan and had everything taken care of. Years later our guests still rave about our wedding but by far they rave about the mashed potato bar and the dessert table. It goes without saying that the grounds are gorgeous and that's one of the things we fell in love with initially. The view from the ballroom was the greenery of the golf course and open skies. The pavilion was decorated with many, many different types of flowers adding luscious color. The venue was so pretty, we kept any extra decorations to the minimum. While our wedding day is now a day in the past, it is so nice to know that we can always come back for some special time to reminisce.

What struck me most was that the room was hot. My dad asked several times to have the temp regulated and was told that the system is slow to cool the room. My aunt went with the in-house caterer and they did a nice job. Dinner included a spread of salads, roast beef, meatballs and sausage, ziti, veggies, etc. It was a standard menu but the food was good, definitely better than expected. We had a DJ for the party and I had to request that the lighting be adjusted so that we weren't all dancing in the bright light. This is a no frills kind of place that may require some extra DIY, but it's not a bad option for a birthday or shower.
