Me and my husband went to Adelphia's for lunch yesterday. My husband had a patty melt. It came with soup and a salad. I had a Poboy burger. I gave them a four out of five for two reasons the food took too long to get to our table. There was other table seated after us that were halfway done their food by the time our food came out and also we ordered our burgers medium, and they were definitely both well done so I feel like the server may have waited in bringing them out to us and that's why they were well done. Four of us went to the restaurant to celebrate one of my girlfriends birthday After we were seating and the waitress took our order she came back to our table about three times to verify our order We were so into our conversation catching up on old times that we didn't pay attention to the fact that an hour had gone by without us receiving our appetizers let alone our entrees Not until we noticed other customers that were seated after us started receiving their meals Long story short we contacted the manager and the appetizers came right out (3 were I correct orders) right after that our slightly cold entrees were served. Everyone, from the hostess to our waiter, was very professional and courteous. Our waiter was also a bit of a jokester. It made the dinner that much more enjoyable. Our calamari was fried to perfection. No tough, rubbery pieces, and breaded just right. Our Greek salads were light and fresh. Enough to wake up our taste buds for the entrees. Did I mention how good the rolls were: soft, warm, and doughy. Almost like a bagel, but better. The chicken Frances's was so good. The chicken was cooked just right, not overdone. It was tender and moist. The lemon-butter sauce brightened the dish up. And they did not skimp on the sauce. Im honestly stupefied with Adelphia's poor rating?! I know I can pick well from any menu, but I cant be this lucky every time I dine here. We attended a very nice small birthday party and we all ordered off of the menu (props to our generous host!) I went with a cup of their absolutely delicious Greek chicken soup (that I cant pronounce!) and the chicken parm. Im super picky about parm. Theirs was really darn good - not greasy, not salty, the perfect texture and so yummy! I subbed the linguine for penne. Nicely cooked - the sauce was a bit bland though. No problem - enter grated cheese! Others had prime rib, filet, chicken stir fry, and a turkey club. There were kudos for all - especially the steak dishes. We've been coming to Adelphia for about 12 years. When we visit Jersey my husband and I always take my extended family out to lunch the day we fly in. I always just make a reservation for around 15 people, some eat full meals some order only soup or salad and a beverage. Imagine my surprise this year when I called I was told a banquet manager would have to call me back. She did within the hour. She was nice and professional. Apparently they have changed their procedures for larger parties. She had to email menus that were price fixe based on budget. We could no longer order from the menu. Granted, we did receive non-alcoholic beverages and a small selection of cookies and pastries for dessert included in the per person price. 18 was the minimum that I have to pay for, show or no show. I selected the lunch options of chicken parm, filet mignon or stuffed flounder. And I had to provide a $250 deposit that was applied to the lunch the day of. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They sat us in a back room at four long tables in a row so talking to anyone other than those at our table was virtually impossible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had one server, she did a wonderful job but really, one server for 18 people. Went for late lunch today about 3pm. There were 5 in our party. Our party agreed that there were two big issues. 1) The service was really terrible. We were there for hours and our waiter was MIA for long periods of time. The guests in the booth next to us had the same waiter as us and asked for a new waiter 2) the food was overall pretty bad. The chopped Cobb salad was bland and had a weird texture. Supposedly a homemade blue cheese dressing. I don't know what the dressing was but it wasn't blue cheese and it was missing the addition of blue cheese crumbles as mentioned on the menu. The fish tacos had no flavor. There's discrimination here. Everyone isn't treated respectfully. Those with darker skin tones aren't treated with a warm welcome and aren't catered to with kindness. Greek salad should not be hard. I ordered the Greek Salad instead of the Greek Sampler specifically because I wanted dolmaths (grape leaves, stuffed.) I asked for no anchovies. I asked for dressing on the side. What I got: eggshell pieces attached to the egg, anchovies, and 1 stuffed grape leave. One. The dressing had an odd smell to it and seemed like it was just oil. No vinegar, no herbs, nothing. I've eaten here a dozen times and it's always been fine. I don't think I'll be back. 3 stars because my companion's food was fine and the waitress was very nice. Get a new salad maker and please put dolmaths on the Greek sampler, the way life has been since time began. read more

Went to dinner with my sisters, I ordered all you can eat Snow king crab legs. I was very disappointed that you have to wait 30-45 min, for the second plate. The Manager Nancy came to the table and was very rude and said "I have a whole other side to take care of", said I will check the time stamp. Well, she never came back to the table. So as we were leaving we confronted her about the time stamp and she replied that there isn't one on second plate and was very rude. She said she is Italian and that's how she comes off. Today was a very disappointing experience at Adelphia Restaurant in Deptford NJ. To begin, we were served bread with mold on it; then, to add insult to injury, the Char Grilled Pork Chops were tough and lacked flavor. Oh, and as we entered the restaurant we smelled fish that wasn't fresh - we should have left then! Sundays at 1pm used to be a difficult to find a seat on Sunday's at Adelphia but now the place is vacant (With good reason) ... We worked our way to the front of the house amidst a collection of empty tables and noticed right away that the display case that once was filled with tempting cakes and pastries was EMPTY just like the Adelphia. This is obviously no longer a diner (No cakes nor pies nor baked goods in the display case, which is clearly a warning sign!) ... and to think on a Sunday we want breakfast... we even drove past three diners because we had decided to come here. And, then before seating us the host needed my cell number. Why the heck do you need my cell number? Is the FBI tracing all calls being made today? You won't have to text me when we can be seated because the place is EMPTY ... it is ONE O'CLOCK on a Sunday afternoon and all we want/need is breakfast AND COFFEE. So, I gave her my number ... and no she didn't wink knowingly back at me. We are taken away from the primary dining area where 80% or more of the tables are empty tables past the dance floor back towards that suspicious elevator with its "guards" to a table a few feet away the bar ... We don't want to sit and have breakfast next to the bar within a short hip hop from the already lit dance floor because we just want BREAKFAST! Clearly VACANCY is the name of the game and a warning to all who might done here. And, before leaving us in the bar area at our table she casually mentioned that they don't serve breakfast after 1pm. HECK what food are you serving on a Sunday at 1pm when many people still want breakfast/brunch? Before the shock wore off another staff member arrived with a bread basket ... but we turned and headed out the door wondering whether those rolls would be served to the next group coming in for breakfast and finding the disaster we discovered. The good news ... we did a YELP search and discovered 5 minutes away an incredible diner serving breakfast and coffee like good diners should be doing. read more

Mother's Day 2026. The menu was vague on the internet. It listed brunch buffet for 65 dollars. Yep, 65 per head. However, they did offer an ala carte menu. So we made a reservation for the ala carte menu service. The menu online did not exactly say it was a breakfast menu but it also didn't mention it was an only lunch or dinner menu either. By now , I'm in the restaurant with my family and it's 11:00 am. Several tables around us are annoyed about the ala carte menu offering zero breakfast items. So I'm thinking hmmm, no individual breakfast items offered so the management can gouge people 65 dollars on a brunch buffet. I have had way better for much less. Management came out and got nasty with a different customer and blamed him for not reading the menu correctly. We stayed and had lunch. Our meals were mediocre with my club having burnt toast discreetly placed so it would not be visible. The burnt toast was in the middle with mayo slathered on it. The fries were very good. The waitress was lovely so we left a nice tip. Next year's nice tip will be to eat anywhere else! read more

I love everything about this place. It is basically upscale dinner with everything you can possibly want on the menu, at the bar and for for the party! There are a lot of daily specials and moderately priced entrée items. The outside decor reminds you of a large Italian or Greek structure. Inside is nicely decorated inviting nice floors nice furniture all around nice set up. There are several places set up for dining and separate rooms for special events, catered or just room rental. For parties they have during the week with live bands and famous DJs there is a large dance floor. One of my favorite items on the menu a appetizer of lamb lollipops they are a must! The special I chose on this day was a porterhouse steak 16 ounce with a very large baked potato, I paid an extra two dollars for asparagus it was all well worth it. If you want to go to a place with nice ambience, hassle free good food for a good price Adelphi is the place for you. And the parties are for all ages.. read more

I've been to Adelphia a million times, and it's just one of those places that you accept for what it is. For me, it's more nostalgic than anything. My friend had a lovely birthday dinner on a Saturday evening with around 15 guests. The staff did a nice job tending to all of our needs. For an appetizer, I tried the fresh mozzarella fritta which was very tasty. Had the lobster ravioli; good but a little salty. Soup or salad came with my entree, and I went with the soup that was good. There was also bread on the table, and that was okay. The atmosphere at Adelphia is one of the most random restaurants. There are birthday celebrations, wedding proposal, people dancing to the music on the dance floor inside/outside, guests dining in and eating, drinking at the bar, etc. You just have to appreciate this unique place! read more

Piss poor customer service Last night my significant and I ordered two Caesar salads with salmon and wings to go. We couldn't wait to enjoy our dinner, opened the salads to find them doused with salad dressing and I mean DOUSED! We obviously couldn't eat them and decided to return them the following day. Upon arrival I was told that once you take the food out as a to go order there's nothing they can do to rectify. As a patron for YEARS I was thoroughly disgusted. The manager was rude and attitudinal after I explained to her the situation, she even suggested that I must return food frequently enough to have the argument that this is very uncommon practice. She gave many reasons as to why there was no recourse because they don't know what we could have done to the food! Like, what ? What patron in their right mind would make a special return trip with ill intent? I simply wanted to be refunded or have the salads made in an edible manner. I left but couldn't shake the feeling that this simply didn't make sense, especially when we've patronized this business in excess of AT LEAST $1000 over the last year so we both went in and asked for the manager. This time she tells my significant I threw the salads on the hostess stand (blatant lie) and repeated the same nonsense but with a different, more respectful tone towards him. Ultimately they offered a gift card for the cost. I'm not one to offer reviews but this experience I couldn't go without sharing. She needs a course in proper hospitality, she could clearly see the salads were soaked in dressing to the where the bag was saturated! But still refused to acknowledge how improperly it was prepared! No apology no offering of resolution until he and I pressed the issue. This was Racism at its finest!! As I have read other people's reviews I literally have to say were we at the same restaurant! For bland food and bad service as a first time patron of Adelphia I will not be driving 1 hour again for tasteless packaged food. We were there to celebrate my Bestie Milestone Birthday that was a party of 4. Can I say the service from Jackie our waitress was horrible!!! Our reservation was at 6:00pm we were seated at 6:36 pm to be exact. First, Jackie came to our table without pen and paper to ensure we received the correct orders, We initially had great conversation with Jackie but it went all downhill after that. She took our drink orders, the Birthday Girl ordered a Pistachio Martini, Two lemonades and a mocktail. When I tell you we sat there until 7:41 pm still waiting for our drink orders to arrive , Jackie barely came to our table, when she finally came to our table she kept asking "what we ordered". Our drink didn't come out until 8:00 pm. The lemonade was watered down with no flavor, the water had a funny taste to it and the Pistachio Martini was horrible, it literally tasted and looked like dish water. That was sent back I don't even know if that was removed from the bill. Ok, next bad experience she finally took our appetizer order that again we waited another 29 mins to even get. The only reason we got that order was due to another person in our party asking the Manager about our appetizers. Jackie finally came back to our table and apologized that it was busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But as I could tell it's always appears to be busy on every Saturday night![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She never asked if we were ready to order our main course, until I asked was she going to take our dinner order. We sat there for another 25 minutes waiting for our main course. Again, watching other tables get their food before us!!! Only to have Jackie bring out 4 Salads that only one person in our party asked for. It's now after 9 pm when we finally received our soups there was a big piece white chicken in one order, a piece of bone in another and broken pieces of noodles in another When our main course finally came out that we literally waited three hours later, to only receive food that was cold and tasteless. The Birthday Girl ordered Prime Rib and received a Porter House Steak. We never had the Manager come to our table to ask how was our meal. As we watched him ask the table across from us. Jackie asked how our food was but at this point we are frustrated and over it! We asked another waiter if he could get the Manager for us. When he came to our table we explained the food came out Cold and he's response was offering us dessert on them. Big Whoop!! At least they got they came out with the desserts to sing Happy Birthday!! The chocolate mouse cake was dry. Our bill came to $180 which I honestly believe that entire bill should've been free for the bad service from Jackie and waiting hours to only receive cold bland food and incorrect order! We all asked for boxes since it appeared to be no other option was to take the food home. There was nothing else offered other than free dessert. As a FIRST TIME CUSTOMER I will not be patronizing Adelphia again; I was not impressed!! There are too many options on the menu and not everything is made from scratch. Sunday brunch... First time at Adelphi's and never realized how big this place is. It was nicely decorated for the holidays. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese croissant which was light, flaky and delicious. The side of bacon is huge. At most places you get three pieces here you can at least 6. Made reservations for a Fathers Day dinner with the family. Ample parking and was able to be seated immediately. Our server was patient, warm and friendly with our large group. She promptly greeted us and took our drink and appetizer order. She brought out warm, fresh, buttered rolls to the table. We order the shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms and the mai tuna. The the vinaigrette and I'm told it was prefect. The grilled pineapple weren't sweet which was disappointing cause we love grilled pineapples. First-time dining here. I dined this past Saturday 5th March. It is very busy so I suggest making reservations. Parking: a huge and very busy lot that gets full due to the restaurant also hosting weddings and other events. People were double parked and held up the flow of traffic at the event entrance by letting people out of cars. Pack patience. Atmosphere: Very noisy. Service: Upon entering, I encountered a hostess podium where the Manager Nancy was standing. As I approached, Nancy partially acknowledged me by never looking all the way up at me and keeping her head down, doing something but she said that she'd be with me. I stood there for about two to three minutes before noticing I could go just behind the podium to another hostess counter. Immediately after I walked away, a group of people walked up. Nancy immediately looked up and, with a smile, welcomed and helped the group. I am not sure what that was about, but I did not appreciate that at all. Once she saw me walk away and was no longer occupied with whatever she was doing, she should have assisted me. Server. Dustin was our server and was ok. Dustin checked on us once, but he never kept our glasses full with water nor asked if we wanted another cocktail once we finished our initial cocktail. Cocktail: crushing? I can't remember, but it had titos some other things and pineapple. It was ok. I didn't taste much pineapple. Food: We ordered the bistro turkey burger, which had Chipotle Mayo, Pepper-Jack (but I swapped out for gruyere cheese), Avocado, Bacon (took the bacon off), Caramelized Onion, Arugula. You can choose beef or impossible meat also. I have to say that it was by far theee best public turkey burger ever! The flavor level was great! It even had a good, smoky taste. That's cool!!: 1. If I could give Adelphia's less than one star I would. The treatment by the owner Evelyn was in one word atrocious. If you'll notice her responses to other unsatisfied customers, she offers the same rude, unapologetic, "I am the owner", attitude to them as well. . I have been a faithful patron of Adelphia's restaurant for many years. I have spent my very last dollar there as of Feb 9th. I am not one to complain or ask for a manager or send my food back for erroneous claims. However, my husband and I purchased the baklava cheesecake as well as two slices of carrot cake. My husband mentioned that the cake was very dry. After I tried it, I agreed but it was beyond dry. It was actually almost brittle with no visible carrots. While I am not one to complain about nonsense, I have spent thousands of dollars at Adelphias over the years and it was unfortunately necessary as the carrot cake was practically inedible. I called very nicely and asked for the manager, i specially stated the restaurant manager. I was then asked what it was about because there was more than one manager. I explained it was about the bakery. She paused and said we don't have a bakery. I then said well the desserts. She then said oh well we have two managers, the restaurant and the bar manager. I said ok, well can I speak to the restaurant manager. She then wanted to know why. I had to ask yet again if I could speak with the manager. She finally said ok. After a few minutes, Evelyn, came to the phone. I was extremely pleasant to Evelyn as I felt bad for calling in the first place. I let her know that I hated to have to call about this but that I frequent the establishment and there was no problem with the staff the evening of my purchase. I then let her know what I purchased and that I had never had a problem prior to this but that the carrot cake was extremely dry and that although it was not a big deal, there were no visible carrots in the cake. She then said, well our carrot cake doesn't have visible carrots. She said this twice. I then said well we don't have to talk about the carrots but that the bigger issue was that the carrot cake was extremely dry. She then became defensive and replied, well I didn't know there were things I could or couldn't talk about. I said, ok well I can just speak with the corporate office about this. She then became belligerent and informed me to go ahead and that there was no corporate office. I said well I'd like the information to reach out to the owner, she then informed me that she was the owner. I couldn't believe this was how an owner would speak to a guest who was calling about a legitimate concern. She ended up hanging up on me after I informed her that I would be recording the conversation. I called back numerous times to see if she would indeed hang up on me and she did each time I called. She is indeed the cousin of the owner who has passed on and she is now a co-owner unfortunately and with that my family, friends, coworkers and clients will not be frequenting Adelphi's again. This is absolutely the worst review I have ever had to give and the worst treatment I have ever received by an owner of an establishement for telling the truth. Unfortunately she does not take kindly to patrons informing her of their unfortunate disappointment with any of the food there. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]They ask me to remove my Kufi I told them no. Then observed other men wearing hats inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When asked why they was allowed and I wasnt I was told that their hats was stylish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Aldephia policy states no hats. It never mentions exemption on the had being stylish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Its like they make up rules as they wish. Plus Im being charged a cover when I was just coming to eat dinner.
