**UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S COMMENT** It's a shame that the new owner does not take ownership of their error and the injury caused to my dog. This truly reflects the kind of business being run in Paxton. The groomer admitted their mistake, which was noted on Oreo's grooming record--unless it has been improperly shredded. Oreo went to the same groomer on June 12, 2024, and I clearly instructed them not to touch his ears. They acknowledged this and left his ears alone. However, after about a month of my treatment (including Neosporin & Vetericyn ), it became clear that a vet appointment was necessary, so Oreo saw the vet on June 25, 2024 where he was given treatment plan of Manuka Honey and Inflatable Cone. He then had a comprehensive exam on July 8, where they stated to continue with the treatment since the Ear takes a while to heal After about a month & 1/2, I took him to urgent care on September 4 because his ears were not healing properly (The vet stated that ears does take a while to heal). They provided additional treatment and a dog helmet, which we are currently using. It's irresponsible for this establishment to shift blame onto the owners instead of taking accountability for their actions. My wife called The Pampered Pet several times, and they returned my call on September 17th. The owner said he could reimburse me via check but needed to think it over. I stated I didn't want to sue or harm a small business, but they need to take accountability. ******* ORIGINAL REVIEW: I took my dog to Pampered Pet for grooming, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. During the grooming process, my dog suffered a serious injury--his ears were cut quite badly. I was devastated and took him to multiple vet appointments to address the injuries, and we have medical records and pictures to document the extent of the damage. What's even more frustrating is that one of their groomers acknowledged the cut, yet the management has refused to take any accountability for what happened. This lack of responsibility is unacceptable, especially when it comes to the safety and well-being of our pets. I also know that the new owners will likely respond to this review, but it's a shame that they don't seem to care as much as the previous owners did. Their negligence has caused my dog pain and discomfort, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same experience. I cannot recommend Pampered Pet based on my experience. read more

So glad we found this place. We have a beautiful long hair cat named Buda - she is our baby girl. Even though we brush her daily her fur became severely matted. We brought her to Pampered Pet in Paxton and within 2 hours she had a beautiful lion's cut and ALL the mats were GONE. We could tell that Buda felt so much better! Bethany did an excellent professional grooming job. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were nervous going in but happy and relieved going out. I honestly can't imagine a better grooming or customer experience. Everyone cares for your dog as much as you do. They make you and Fido feel as if you're their only concern. Sue hand-strips our Airedale puppy (not an easy task on not an easy breed at not an easy age!) and along the way always gives me tips for how I can learn to do it myself and help along the way in between appointments. Who does that these days?. She loves what she does and loves her clients - you can't say much more than that. Just want to share my past 2 recent experiences I've had with Pampered Pet in Paxton. I've been taking my dog there since he was a pup, 2015 and never had any problems, he's always come out beautifully. The last two times the groomer says he's difficult with his paws and won't let you touch them. This was so random so my first thought was perhaps he was hurt In one of his last baths before becoming "difficult" because this was news to me. The owner assured me that this wasn't the case and maybe reaching out to his vet to make sure he wasn't hurting internally. Of course this was done, and no problems, as expected, healthy little guy and he let anyone touch his paws and loves his belly rubbed. Upon taking him last week to be groomed again with a very slight sedation per the recommendation of the owner at Pampered Pet I was told by that groomer of the day that she would not have done that! What the hell! That said, per that groomer my pup was not difficult in terms of shaving his face/body only his paws but yet this is the end result was absolutely ridiculous ! My 4 year old grandson could've done better! Angela and Amy who are employees there were extremely UNPROFESSIONAL as Amy felt the need to chime in the conversation I was having with Angela to defend the shotty work! ANGLEA and AMY NO THANKS!! PAMPERED PET IN PAXTON MA we will NOT be back! Taking him to his new groomer Thursday and I'll be sure to post picture! ALSO- they didn't bathe him either! read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. they used to be a great business and we used to love them, but in the past couple of years, they have become rude, difficult to work with, and poor treatment of dogs. I brought my 11 year old golden here for a haircut 2 weeks ago, he was dropped off VERY FIRST at about 7 am. We called at 2pm and he still wasn't ready--and they refused to give us a timeframe- because they still hadn't started clearly! They left an old dog in a cage all day, he had a panic attack, came back with an all bloody beat up nose for the second visit in a row (probably trying to get out of the cage) nd he passed away the next day. We just got the autopsy and they said he died from a Stress related event that his old heart couldn't handle. Im obviously not blaming his old age on them, but if they cared about their customers and dogs, they would have noticed how stressed he was and maybe got to him before 8 hours ina cage. PLEASE DONT GO THERE, I'll be spreading the word in more ways. read more

This is, by far, the best grooming facility I have ever used -- and we have been to MANY. We have standard poodles and show dogs -- not easy to groom -- the staff is exceptionally gifted and loving. In addition they are patient, kind, and amazingly accommodating. Our dogs LOVE going to pampered pet and their prices are very fair. We travel from Connecticut to Massachusetts -- over an hour one way -- and would travel further to go to them. One of the shop owners is a renown international grooming expert who flies around the world doing grooming demonstrations. Many of the staff compete in grooming competitions. We can't praise this shop enough!!! read more

Let me start of with saying I have a big dog. An Alaskan malamute. And I understand grooming him takes time. And dematting and undercoat removal are two different things. The groomer my dog had, was AMAZING!!! She made him look beautiful. Which is the only reason I'm giving two stars. She's the saving grace. And if I didn't get overcharged with zero notice, I totally would have given her a bigger tip. I understand the work she puts into the removal of the undercoat, (not dematting). However, my personal dispute is the fact that I got charged double from our last grooming session in the fall, DOUBLE. And that was the summer undercoat removal/grooming. Which is worse than the spring. The "dematting" was $7 less than the bath, dry, groom, nail clipping and cleaning of the ears. Seems a bit outragous if you ask me. I totally get my dog takes many hours to remove the under coat. But by no means did he have that much dematting to tend too. Nor was I informed of the price before hand. Nor did the secretary inform me of the outrageous price I was about to be charged when I called to find out when my dog would be ready. What would have happened if I couldn't afford this amount? Would they have kept my dog? What if now my child couldn't eat for the next week because this place just took an unforeseen amount of money? I find it unprofessional, and inconsiderate of this company to not inform me, that my dogs seasonal grooming was about to cost an arm and a leg. In no way will I give this place any more of my money. read more

My dogs are both happy and excited to go in there, everyone is friendly, and the dogs come out well groomed. One of my dogs is blind and epileptic so it is important to me that they feel comfortable and safe and I've never seen a hint of anxiety when we go there. The first thing you notice when you walk in are all the trophies for dog grooming that decorate the walls. These were all won by Susan Zecco-- the owner. Her husband-Ray who works at the front desk is always personable, considerate and very professional (in addition to having a great sense of humor). But the real reason we like going there is our little dogs always come out looking great. This is in large part due to Rose-one of their lead groomers, who always does a very nice job. We've never been disappointed with Pampered Pet. It's a little out of our way travel wise, but well worth the time and trouble. read more

I have been taking my dogs to The Pampered Pet for 20 years. The staff is caring towards the dogs and can do any trim for any breed of dog. My dog is a show dog and is scissored at The pampered Pet before every show. I always get wonderful compliments on his grooming. read more
