They also sell prints and paintings by local artists. What's even better is that it's a local business (well how could it not be?)! Every time I've gone, the employees are super friendly and helpful. I always end up talking and talking with them. Another thing I like about Chuco Relic is that they help the community often. I should say they also try to help people in our state! Back when Hurricane Harvey happened in Houston, they raised money for them by selling merchandise. I recently purchased an El Paso Strong t-shirt from them for $10. I pre-ordered it so it came out to $10 less. I'm always excited to help local businesses succeed, especially when they help others here and around Texas. If you're looking for an El Paso-inspired gift, this is a good place to go.

The shop is amazing, to say the least. I have found a wealth of educational toys here. They carry many hard to find or less well known toys that are big with the indie parent crowd and those of us that are pro-home schooling. The shop is arranged by age appropriate toys, so it is easy to shop. Fair trade, handmade, eco-toys, and educational toys galore - you won't need another toy store. The toys can get pricey, but don't you prefer quality toys to quantity? Even better is the fact that this amazing couple opened up an indoor playground, next door to their shop. The playground is a great alternative to bad weather days (which in this blazing, killer heat is pretty much year round), a great place to arrange a play date, or just a place to relax and enjoy the WiFi while the kids get acquainted and do their kid thing. The fee is $8/per day and you can leave and come back as you please. They also offer snacks for sale, an indoor picnic area, and comfortable lounge seating for parents. Bring a pair of socks for you and the kiddos, as they have a 'no shoes' policy. Summer camps, home schooling workshops, and even extreme couponing workshops can be found here. It really is more than just an educational toy shop: it is a meeting place for the current times. Biggest fan ever.

So many things that I want, but a few of the things that stood out on my first trip was the Captain Morgan statue (that thing was seriously bigger than me...check the pictures), the Walk/Don't Walk signs, a snowglobe with the original owner's picture in it (perfect gift for White Elephant...just saying), and the huge amount of comic books that were only $2. A5S is in this antique shopping warehouse that's filled with a bunch of different stores, so it may be an all day trip if you're like me. The outside really doesn't look like much, but A5S is huge. You're not human if you don't leave this place with a bag filled with cool stuff at an unbeatable price.
