This review is in the time of COVID so the pros are that check in process is pretty easy and location is amazing. Love it and easy to walk or bike everywhere. We spoke with Sardor and he is very accommodating and nice. The price of $240/night is a little too expensive when we have to make our own beds, take out our own trash, and go to the office for toilet paper and towels. I feel like their protocols are great and very hygienic, but that they should have lowered cost. Location and the porches are really the big sell here.

It was a pleasure staying at this hotel. The property is gorgeous and clean. I love the cozy corner the hotel is on. The rooms were clean, they offer free continental breakfast and happy hour. What stood out the most despite the beautiful property and room was the staff. Tracy went above and beyond to help accommodate us. There was no wait to get our room key, Tracy gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary and with all these great pros we decided to stay an extra night. There were no rooms available the extra night we wanted to stay so they put us up in their sister property. Tracy look our luggages for us to the property so we wouldn't have to lug them around. The entire staff was great. We will definitely be back soon! Do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel! Location is great! 2 blocks from Duval. Not too fat, but not so close where you can hear the rowdy crowd.

Construction, equipment & mess right in front of our room!

Arrived @3:30pm after long drive. Was made to wait until 4 check-in. Came back at 4:01, told to wait 5-10 min as room wasn't ready. Another person came in & got their key quickly. Next Am @8 tried to go out to "private" porch to make a call & not wake my fiance only to find a construction worker setting up. Huge fan in front of room entrance, tarps all over the place, drilling, sawing of wood. 3-5 men right outside our room all day. Sawdust covering everything. Chairs & table on "private" entrance moved. Asked for another room, but told they were sold out. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

When we returned from walking down to Duval St (just a block away) we went to our room which was very nice.

Check-in was busy when we arrived, but the staff remained friendly, patient, and accommodating. We've stayed here several times over the years, including during the renovations, so we've seen the resort through all its phases. It's wonderful to see everything almost completed, and the property looks great. Throughout every visit, the staff has always gone above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. One thing we've learned is that if you have a special request, just ask , they're happy to help whenever they can. Our two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family. We love the layout and found it incredibly comfortable. While many guests prefer the ocean-view rooms, we actually enjoy them, even with the occasional cruise ship in the harbor. Besides, you're in Key West! Take a walk and explore, you'll find gorgeous ocean views all around the island. The location truly couldn't be better. You're within walking distance of Duval Street, Mallory Square, great restaurants, shopping, and so many Key West attractions. We also had dinner at the newly decorated Lolita's Coastal Cocina, and it was absolutely delicious. A special thank you to Damir K., who has been wonderful throughout our stay. His hospitality, along with the rest of the staff, is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. Keep up the great work, Opal Key...we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Also watch out for the valet guy. I rolled down my car window to find out where I should leave me car while checking in and despite being less than 10 feet away from me, he ignored me and walked away. After I checked in and tried to get my kiddos situated in the lobby with our luggage so I could go self-park the car I finally got his attention by him calling out "hey, can you move your car?" To which I replied "As soon as I'm done doing what I'm doing. And for the record, I tried to ask you where to park and you ignored me and walked away so... sorry, not sorry?"

They had fresh water and a welcome sangria as I checked in. *They have daily coffee in the morning and cookies and iced tea in the afternoon. The only thing missing is a happy hour with wine and cheese! I spent a lot of time trying to find the right room (online). Without being there, it was hard to choose. I chose a poolside room (shared balcony). I was given room 3 and I loved it. :) There is plenty of room for two people. The bed was so comfy and the pillows were perfect. They have complimentary water (2 bottles) in your room. They have a mini fridge and options to buy snacks and liquor. They have fruit infused water next to the pool daily. You will stay hydrated. There is an honor bar next to the water; which has a few pricy options for a beer or other canned beverages. I did see plenty of people have their own drinks poolside. So, outside drinks are allowed at the pool...but no glass. They have two pools. I preferred the pool towards the back. There are lush beautiful plants all around you and you'll often see little lizards scurrying by the pool. They did not have a late checkout for my room but they were nice enough to hold my bags and have use of the pool while I waited for my friends to arrive. I would stay here again but during high season, the rooms get expensive. I loved room 3 but would love to someday stay in the cute cabin looking rooms up behind the pool. They have a covered porch, sitting room m, and a large bathroom. Overall, the service was solid. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, the bed was amazing, and the pools were a lovely respite from the crowded streets and heat of the city.
