I took a chance going to this barbershop because I've never gone here or heard of it before. I got a good barber. He was kind of irritated at first, or preoccupied, but he opened up and was pretty cool. The haircut he gave me was really good and honestly better than my usual barbers in Seattle. This place is different, my barber paid special details to every part of my face including the trim, cut, precise edge, level of balance, color blending and eyebrow trimming. Shoutout to Cristian, an excellent barber and genuine person. He made me feel valued, and he delivered a superb haircut each time. She then suggested I try Christian as every head she's seen him cut looks great. My #1 favorite Barbershop on the Island. Was use to always getting my cut from my best friend. Once his career really kick off I needed to find someone else to cut me up regularly. Found the parlor and making the appointment was super easy. Go online, find your date, and choose your stylist. Card required to lock in your appointment. Simple easy and convenient. What I notice with my first visit here was that all the barbers here are friendly and inviting . As opposed to other shops where you walk in and stand there awkwardly.. the staff here make you feel very welcome. I went with Bubz and he does a good job. Clean cuts and very personable. I have spent a lot of time finding barbers that I like and don't mind sticking with. There are great places to go to and The Parlor is definitely one of them. I had my haircut today by Smurf who's a cool chill person. The actual vibe of this place is awesome. I absolutely love the fact that it's in a residential neighborhood which gives off that family style vibe. This is a very clean establishment and whoever did the interior of this place did a fantastic job. All the barbers were very nice and personable. This was my first time going, and I'll definitely be coming back. Parking is around the sides of the street, but since it's a residential neighborhood theres plenty. The haircuts are kind of pricey at $30 for adults and $25 for kids, but these are valuable cuts that you can be proud of. I'd pay this price at this establishment any day. Do plan to be there for some time if you are bringing a family. The cuts that I saw averaged a solid 30-45 min but definitely call and make a reservation. read more

I was very impressed that when women and children are in the shop they make sure to change the music (music with curse words). I have seen their quality cuts on Instagram and was meaning to come here ever since they opened. I finally caved in and made an appointment in hopes of becoming a returning client depending on how well my haircut looked. I had my first visit here almost a week ago and was 15min late for appointment only because I couldn't find the place (Don't use any online navigation apps such as Google Maps). Thankfully, the barber/owner, Ryan, was still waiting for me to come in. I've had the same hairstyle for the past three years so Ryan understood what I wanted. Atmosphere wise, there's a rustic theme to it. It does get really loud since the shop/work floor is small plus the seats are within close proximity (with glass panels in between them due to COVID guidelines. On top of wearing a face mask as per COVID guidelines, it can get a bit hard to communicate with the barber but that's something neither party can control but something to be aware of. Also don't expect a quick haircut. These guys are masters at their craft so they will take their time with giving you the haircut that you want. I was in there for an hour but the wait was absolutely worth it. In conclusion, that was the freshest cut I ever had. I will definitely be back here the next time I need a haircut. read more

Ryan and his staff are great. I'm so glad I finally found a great barbershop on the Westside for my boys. I can't tell you how many different barbers we've been to where the wait has been ridiculously long only for the service to be mediocre at best. I go in and tell Ryan what I want for the boys and he just gets it. We've been there about 3 times now and I haven't been disappointed once. I just had my second sitting at the parlor with Josh and I think that I can now give an accurate review of The Parlor in Kapolei. As Josh knows I had been searching for a new barber for a while now...seeing as my old one moved out of state. So I've been to quite a few in the past year, all over the island. They got a great vibe going on in there. Not too loud, with music and chatter drowning your senses...but not too quiet where you feel like you can't make a peep. Just right. I think that the atmosphere is just as important as the haircut itself. The place is clean, modern, and well lit. The barbers themselves are all cool. They seem like a pretty tight knit group. I never got the vibe that they think they are all that, and they feel like they need to make the customer feel like they don't know what they want or they know better. I've seen those types all over in different shops. Very customer service oriented. Kudos to the management for that. Haircuts are great as far as I've had. Exactly what I asked for and nothing more or less. Price is just right (starting at $31 for a men's cut). I would definitely tell all my friends about them. read more

This was our first visit to this Barber. I have literally been to every barber on the Leeward Coast because my son is dissatisfied with every cut he's received. Koa serviced us and didn't ask what we wanted at first, he asked what was it we didn't like at the last shop. Long story short, my son finally got what he wanted. I was a Mojo's regular, but driving to town is taxing. It used to be the way to go until I found this awesome little gem tucked away in the new Mehana subdivisions of Kapolei. I couldn't be happier to have such a quality barbershop close to home and they hold their own with the crew at Mojo's. I can't speak highly enough for these gents. They take their time and make sure you get a quality haircut, and they do some of the best fades I've seen on the island. They also make sure to cut your hair so it matches the shape of your head (and not just run a buzzer over everything). It is pricier than other barbers, but in my opinion it's absolutely worth the price. My girlfriend also recommends this place, because apparently I look like a heathen when I go get my hair cut at other places. read more

Gotta put in a great review for The Parlor as I was visiting Oahu and needed a haircut so checked yelp and found The Parlor well justified in the #1 spot. I couldn't get a same day reservation but booked online for the following day and the nice thing is the appointments are for an hour in the chair, not just 30 minutes as I'm used to on the mainland. Josh did a great job on my hair with more attention to detail than perhaps I've ever gotten before. Chatting with him during the cut and just enjoying the relaxed barbershop atmosphere really made for a great total experience. Highly recommended! read more

From the beginning, called on a Monday to schedule an appointment for 3... two boys and one adult male (aka husband) for that coming Thursday. Set it for 5PM. Woman was nice and pleasant on the phone. First impression: Nice, modern, rustic, up to date and clean. Barbers were all male and welcoming to a family of 5 with a baby stroller. Yes it was spacious enough to fit a full sized stroller without being in the way. JV: Approached us first. Nice and smiling. Escorted us to the back of the shop where there are two more seats. Cut my eldest (8 years old) son's hair. Kept a conversation and did make my son feel comfortable. Got the two thumbs up from my son! SMURF: Approached us second. Nice and professional. Escorted my husband to the front of the barbershop where there are 5 seats to cut hair. He did a nice fade! Thanks for making my husband look even more handsome! ORTIZ: He was with a client. He said he would be right with us. After he was done with his client he then cleaned up his area and got it ready for my second son (4 years old). Patient with my son.
