I just told Bryson to do what he thought would look best. When he started shaving off half of my son's hair, I'll admit I was a little nervous -- but I trusted the process. While I distracted myself watching the Broncos vs. Cowboys game on TV, I looked up and saw his hair was perfectly blended! One day I went to my favorite lab but there was no open space, so I decided to park on the side. Actually, you can park anywhere and they have reserved parking. I saw this hair salon for guys. Ace of Fades Hawaii. My son always wanted to try those salons, but I always took him to a barber shop. lol As he is getting older, the barber shop he goes to does a wonderful job, but you know when they are teenagers they like to try different places. I know I was like that when I was his age. But I never did go in -- until one day I went to my lab and my son was with me. I told him, "Let's check it out." After my lab appointment, we stopped at the hair shop. As we entered, they greeted us like we were their regular customers. I asked if I needed to make an appointment or if they accepted walk-ins. The guy I was talking to was Ken, and he said they accept both walk-ins and appointments. Their shop looks like a man cave. lol So Ken took my son, and they started talking. I wanted my son to express how he liked his haircut, so I just sat in my chair. While I was there, I noticed they had regular customers. I heard the stylists calling customers by name. That's so great because when they know you, they also know the texture of your hair, which means you'll always get a great haircut. My son showed Ken a picture of the haircut he wanted, and Ken cut it exactly like the picture. He was super happy with his haircut! I pointed out the difference in service between his barber shop and this place. He said he only showed Ken the picture one time and Ken duplicated the haircut perfectly. His barber shop is good, but they tend to do the same kinds of haircuts and have pictures with numbers that you choose from. That's how barber shops are -- but this shop goes for a more defined, personalized style. I asked my son where he wanted to get his haircut next. He wanted to come back to this shop and have Ken cut his hair again. While I was there, they had a lot of customers, so I didn't want to ask to take pictures of the shop because most people don't like to be in photos. That's why I went back another day to get the pictures. For those of you who live on the west side, come try the fade haircuts here. The stylists are very cool, they have a big TV just like a man cave, and they definitely know how to cut your hair exactly the way you want it. And I saw a champion belt.. The first time we visited, we walked in without appointments for three of us. Even though they were busy, the wait wasn't that bad. We made sure to take note of their popularity, though, and used their online booking system for our next visit which was clear, smooth, and easy to use. The shop itself is super cute, modern, and spotlessly clean. They even have comfortable waiting areas both inside and outside so you can relax comfortably while you wait. They have very affordable prices, but the quality of the haircuts definitely doesn't reflect the price. The entire team, Vy, Nancy, and Sandy are all incredibly experienced and skilled.
