Fast forward, we needed a few "honey do" items done example, the toilet that kept running, the front door was starting to stick and become hard to open, the lock had broken on the front screen door which made it impossible to use, since we would be locked out of the house (luckily we have another entrance). He evened out the french doors leading to our laundry facility​ that had never really lined up and now coming off the track repeatedly​. He did not honor our contract and is refusing to not only finish the contracted project, but to refund half our deposit that was to go towards it. We paid a deposit that was to be split between the 2 main jobs. He completed the first main job with poor workmanship, but did not return for the second main job. Finally he responded, calling us a difficult customer and that he refuses to do the work to fulfill the contract.
