I had Patio Place restrap and reglaze my patio furniture. They did a good job on this however the furniture was delivered with a number of glides missing. I tried replacing them myself, but they are specialty glides. I called an asked Bob to send me the missing parts and he wanted to charge me for them. I had just spent over $2750 for my furniture and these were missing parts. After another 2 conversation and arguments with Bob he assured me he would send them to me without cost, they never showed up. Not a very professional way to do business. I don't write reviews often but The Patio Place deserves a highlight. Initially, I was reluctant to have them refurbish our old patio furniture because of a handful of bad reviews. However, I read the good ones and decided to call on June 18th and see what they had to say. Bob (one of the owners) picked up the phone. I explained that we needed to repair our old patio furniture, we were looking the change the color scheme, and that we wanted to have everything powder coated to match. That's all standard stuff for patio furniture refurbishing companies however, what wasn't standard was our desire to have it done before the 4th of July. Every other company I called had a 6-8 week lead time. Before Bob could commit to our goal, I was able to text him pictures of our furniture to see what they could do. While on the phone, he was able to receive my pictures, assess the scope of the project, confirm that our furniture was of good quality worth the expense and provide detailed explanations for all my questions. Moreover, he provided a quote before the end of the workday and arranged for our furniture to be picked-up the very next day. Bob was confident they could get it all done before the 4th; 2 sling swivel chairs, 4 sling stationary chairs, 4 non-sling stationary chairs, one large glass table (approx 72"x36"), another small circular glass table 24" in diameter, and two custom cushions to match with the replacement sling material. On the scheduled day, the pick-up truck arrived at our house in San Clemente very close to the estimated time. They had all the sample powder coating colors and sling material samples so we could choose our new look without having to go to the shop in Costa Mesa. We were excited to finally have beautiful patio furniture again but were still concerned we may not get it back by our 4th of July deadline. This was a hefty task to pull off and I'm excited to write this review because they nailed it! Our furniture arrived today 6/29, well before the 4th and boy are we happy!! I bought a fire table off Craigslist some time ago and it was hooked up for natural gas. I needed it to hook up to propane, but what I thought would be an easy conversion turned out to be the quest from hell. I went to and called every hardware store, bbq retailer, fireplace retailer, and any other place that might be able to help me with no luck. I randomly called up Patio Place and was connect with Bob who patiently listened to my situation and suggested I send pictures to help him get a better sense of my issue. Bob then connected me with Bob the owner who knew exactly the part I needed and told me to swing by. I went expecting to be charged for service/parts but was instead handed a doohickey, given instructions and told "Merry Christmas!" I can't thank the Bobs enough for helping me out. I now have a functional fire table instead of a useless metal monstrosity in my back yard. They went above and beyond to help me out for a product I never purchased from them and didn't charge me for the doohickey that hadn't been able to find for over a year. 2020 hasn't been a great year for businesses and I would have happily paid whatever they charged, but their commitment to top notch service and customer relations just blew me away. Our patio chairs recently started tearing. We have had the set for 15 years and still like it. We came to The Patio Place for refinishing. They had a wide variety of fabrics to choose from. They did a fantastic job! We are very happy with their work. But even better is their customer service. They were polite and respectful. They won't even do us the courtesy of returning our communications, even after they asked us for the invoice number in order to assist us. We purchased a couple of chaise lounge cushions from this store as replacements for furniture we had purchased elsewhere some years ago. The price was fairly reasonable and the quality of work was great. About a year later, a bird or animal decided to attack one of the pillows and made a terrible mess of it. We ended up purchasing two 72 " tables with 12 chairs, a 40" round table with two more chairs and 4 bar stools. We buy the cleaner there to keep our furniture looking new. I'm pretty sure they took the one off the showroom floor that was broken and gave it to us but had promised the one we would receive from the factory would be good. The Patio Place deserves a zero! I was impressed when we visited the store the first few times. Steve is extremely knowledgeable and took our order. We spent way more then we had budgeted, but knew we were buying forever furniture and loved the product quality. We made our purchase in May and Steve told us the furniture would arrive in 3 to 4 weeks. Hmmmmmm. It didn't come. We were then promised delivery before the 4th of July. Hmmmmmm. It did NOT come. Then we were told the 14 of July. Hmmmmmmm. It did NOT come. Then we were told three weeks into August. We cancelled the order! The next day I walked into another patio shop (see my Review of them!) and bingo, bango, bongo- they had Telescope patio furniture on their floor and it was even in the colors we had ordered at Patio Place. I purchased it and it was delivered two days later!!!!! I am STILL waiting for my refund from Patio Place!!!!!!!! Steve promised he would complete the transaction. ...Nope. No refund yet! Absolutely NO excuse for any of the issues we have experienced with The Patio Place! Don't waste your time and money at Patio Place! The owner is the most unruly person I've dealt with. Had an appt to meet him at opening, he was out having breakfast!!!! Comes in, asks how I'm doing? Not too stoked to have been left waiting. He walks to the back, "how long has he been waiting? He's bitching!" We finish our transaction. I tell him I heard his comment. His response, "yeah, so. You are." I am so happy with my purchase from Patio Place! I looked for MONTHS to find the perfect couch-- attractive, contemporary and more importantly, comfy (not an easy combo). My husband and I went to pretty much every store in LA/Orange before we found Patio Place. We agreed on the coronado couch (by Sunset West)and LOVE IT! Steve and Michelle were so very helpful (and especially patient). I honestly think they gave me the best price possible for this couch. They custom make their cushions (which I was skeptical about since I love the feel of the coronado cushions) but I think they feel great so far! The delivery was smooth. After an exhaustive search we finally walked into Patio Place and were able to custom order and get exactly what we were looking for! The price was pretty hefty - nearly $3.5k for a sectional - but we thought it was worth it because we liked the furniture so much. So why the 2 stars? Despite loving the furniture and the reps being friendly - our customer service experience has been terrible. The scheduled date of delivery I called the store around 5:00 pm, wondering where our stuff was. They had messed up the paperwork and hadn't slated it for delivery at all. But hey, mistakes happen, and they did put in a rush order so that our order was delivered the next day. So that was good...Except that when it delivered, the connector pieces that hold the sectional together were missing. The delivery guy said he could bring some over the next day. But didn't. Called the store - had no record of the pieces missing nor did they know what I was talking about. Said they'd get some in Monday, and deliver Tuesday. At 5:30 on Tuesday, they hadn't shown up so we called the store AGAIN - they said oh sorry, those will deliver Wednesday between 10 am - 1 pm.On Wednesday, call at 12:45 to confirm that they're still coming, they say that they are just running a little late. Should be there by 2. Well here it is 3:30 and still no delivery. With all of this miscommunication, you would think they would offer SOMEthing - a couple free pillows or a discount, or even a coupon! But no. Sadly, this place does not have that level of professionalism, nor do they put the customer first. read more

Horrible service. We purchased a set and was told that it would be delivered within 2 weeks. We followed up numerous times to confirm a date and time of delivery. We were not given a date but were assured that the frames were ready to be picked up from the manufacturer and all that was left to do was make the cushions. The furnitures look good but the management is really horrible. Firstly, The workers were late for 1.5 hours for delivery which caused me to be late for my date. Then the two custom tables didn't arrive in one more week as the seller promised and no one called me for it. I waited for another week and had to call him back. It took the seller minutes to realize they still owed me two tables and informed me that I needed to wait for 8 more weeks. What's really upset me was that he didn't even apologize either for his not keeping promise or 8 more weeks' waiting without notice ahead. He sounded like I deserved this and it's MY problem. Visited the store and all was great, called to make the purchase and was told they would call me back. No one called. I called again and placed the order and a delivery time was scheduled for 3 weeks out. Not a big deal. Delivery day arrived, no delivery, no phone call. I called 4 times and no one knew about the order. Saturday wasted. On Sunday I called to see what was going on and the owner, Bob, answered. Nope, he had no answer. Promised to call me on Monday to let me know. Monday, no call. Tuesday I call and get excuses and a promise of delivery for Sat at 1. Thursday owner calls and says he's calling to confirm delivery for Friday at noon. What the hell?!? I restate that Friday doesn't work and we already had delivery scheduled for Sat at 1. He says can we do 12, I reply absolutely. If it's actually going to be delivered at noon I'll be there. Today, Sat, at 11 I arrive home from the gym to find them two houses away trying to deliver. Wrong house, wrong time. Done with this company. Three days after delivery was finally made and I'm still waiting for the receipt which was supposed to be emailed to me on delivery day. I searched high and low to have replacement patio furniture cushions made and found prices nearly twice as high as Bob's. So glad I didn't pay attention to these reviews in the end, although I searched a lot longer trying to find something else before coming back to Patio Place... no "the" by the way. Just Patio Place. They make their cushions in house and don't send them out to be made, adding a markup before you get them. And they've been doing this for years and years.. These cushions are perfect!
