New to the area and in need of new furniture, I came to Yelp to find a furniture shop. I was drawn here by the large selection of items and it seemed charming and eclectic. Sure enough, I was blown away by the caring nature of the shop owners as well as the unique yet affordable furniture I was able to find here. There are some really great art pieces as well as cute home decor items. The owner walked through the entire store, pulling pieces that matched what I was looking for and really putting in effort to help ensure I left satisfied. The quality and selection is very nice. When I did my Balboa Island home I got quite a few pieces from the store. The only negative I would put out there if I find Elaine to be a bit on the snooty side. Her husband is delightful but she definitely comes with a judgmental attitude which is not conducive to great customer communication. After I finished my home I suggested HTGT to a couple friends. Both of them felt less than welcomed. Now if someone asked me for a referral I will tell them that the shop has nice merchandise but I do prepare them for her attitude. read more

I went to this establishment for the first time today. They have some good merchandise, however, it's is very disorganized. In addition the 2 staff in the showroom, who I believe were the owners, were not very welcoming. She followed me around the store as if I was suspicious and when I was interested in a set of 2 chairs and wanted to take a photo for reference she told me very sternly that they have a no photo policy. What furniture store doesn't have a photo policy? Although they had some good merchandise I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. read more

What an amazing experience with Elaine and her husband... First, I don't have the knack for interior design but Elaine absolutely does! After years of being a TJ Maxx shopper and buying things that didn't work and having them for a short period of time and then buying MORE... I decided to stop in HtgT and I was met with a fantasti,c no nonsense, lovely woman named Elaine. I was so nervous about buying new furniture that I wasn't sure would work (because I don't have the knack) I was probably her most neurotic client ever. She offered to come to my house. It's $1000 dollars and she gives you her ideas and ALL of the $1000 goes toward merchandise. I was to embarrassed to have her over so I videoed my house and sent her the video.....she was so honest and helpful. She is a very REAL person and thankfully she gave me her REAL opinion. She gave me suggestions on how to rearrange things that I had and what she thought would work. I showed her some things in the store that I loved and she went with MY style. Her prices are very good... and her interior design advice (for those of us that can't afford an interior designer) are priceless. If I had hired a designer I would have paid soooooo much more. In the amount that I have spent over and over again at TJ Maxx I ended up with quality pieces that have brought my house up to a level that makes me so HAPPY to have company.... (this coming from the woman that hides in the back of her house when someone knocks because I didn't want anyone to see my house because of my lack of design skills.) She helped with everything from how to make collections on my shelves with things I already had, spacial orientation (who knew), placement to art work, you get what I'm telling you. Give her your budget and she will work with you and start you off slow. She kept telling me, "You don't have to buy this now. You have a great start, just come back when you are ready for another piece and I will work with you." All I can say is that this place is a needle in a haystack. the store is huge with an amazing selection of quality furnishings that will last for many many years. You won't see any advertisement for them and they have been in business for a very long time so that should say it all. read more

We came from out of state to furnish our rental property in Laguna, and after looking everywhere came across this gem, HTGT. I was so amazed by the pieces in the store as they were beautiful, unique, and had that coastal vibe we were searching for. The owner Elaine and her husband offered to come out to the property before we even closed on the house, to help us pick out pieces and have them ready for our move in date. We ended up furnishing the entire house with them and are so grateful for their expertise and Elaine's amazing eye for furnishings and decor. Five stars for sure! read more

In this business climate customer service needs to be a priority! Note to owner - you are here today but you will be gone tomorrow unless you adjust. This store was recommended by a friend. I read the negative reviews on Yelp but decided to give this place a chance. Nice stuff and I like the interior but parking was tricky. On my way out I was blocked in by the very grumpy owner lady who proceeded to close parking gates while glaring at me. Glad I didn't buy anything and I'm definitely not going back.! Customer service is non-existent. An employee was standing in the front when I walked in and did not greet me. I passed another employee who did not greet or acknowledge me. But when I started to take a photo of some chairs to send to my designer, the first employee ran over to tell me that was not allowed. HTGT just lost a customer and referrals. I deal with several designers and architects who would've loved the offerings if this store but they won't hear about it from me. read more

People always ask me where I get my items and I always send them to HTGT. From coastal to modern, there's something for every taste there. The space is open, airy and full of many options. Elaine, the owner, is very kind and easy to work with, she is from the east coast so takes some warming up (some of these reviews are not fair!) but she has amazing taste and styles her store very well. My husband and I stopped here on a Monday, when we came in, Dana was working with another customer so we went ahead and began browsing. I didn't really mind the lack of "immediate" attention because it allowed me to browse on my own. I noticed a lot of the bad reviews stemmed from bad customer service. Contrary to most of the reviews, we thought Dana and Elaine (the store owner) were highly professional and kind people. This is not pottery barn, there are only 3 of them in the store, so let's be realistic about someone immediately coming to your attention. We also met Duane who was very helpful about giving insight if the table we purchased will fit in our vehicle. Overall, We had a lovely experience at HGTG. We purchased a dining table and 2 stools, delivered shortly to our house on the same day. They work with a delivery guy named James who was very careful with handling our purchase. They offer a free home visit for design ideas for purchases $1000 and above, We are looking forward to working with Dana and Elaine. I hope people can look beyond the bad reviews and give this business a chance. read more

This is one of my favorite furniture stores! The owner has an amazing talent for finding unique one of a kind pieces that you just won't find anywhere else. Very interesting furniture collection. And the place is HUGE! It goes on forever, with much more to choose from than you first see from the (somewhat dark because of the tinted windows) front of the store. Husband and wife team help you out but also stay out of your way when you just want to poke around. (It can get a little confusing if there are a number of people requesting their help all at once, but understandable given that there's only two of them.) Their prices are very reasonable and they are accomodating on price adjustments if the furniture is scratched by someone moving objects around the top of the table or dresser, etc. Overall, I liked the price of the piece I bought and have already told a few of my friends about it. read more

I am not a frequent yelp reviewer (though I use the site all the time to read others' reviews) but was so compelled to review Here Today Gone Tomorrow for the wonderful experience my husband and I have had. Elaine and Duane are incredibly sweet, offer amazing customer service, and have an eye for stunning pieces of unique furniture that you CANNOT find anywhere else, especially for the prices. We just moved to Santa Monica from Corona del Mar and shopped here based on a friends' recommendation. All I can say is we are sad to be an hour away, but will definitely be making trips down specifically to visit this store to finish decorating our new home! read more

This lady just lost a good bit of business. I have a full home that needs to be furnished. After visiting this store before, I knew I wanted to shop here bc I like the style and prices. I'm not quite sure why you're not allowed to take photographs of the pieces (it's not like it's original artwork or custom designs) but I was asked not to take pictures to send to my husband (the one who's ultimately swiping the credit card). I love this store! Elaine has impeccable taste and always seems to stock fantastic, unique pieces. Using her expert eye for design, she also graciously helped my fiancé and I find a great side table to match the coffee table and rug we were going to purchase from her store for our living room. We left with the three pieces and they're the perfect fit and aesthetic for our home. I'm glad this store is here today and I hope it's not gone tomorrow because there are a lot of really cool items! The owners were especially friendly and kind, in fact, they stayed late while we pondered our purchase. They also returned on Sunday, even though the store was closed, so we could pick up our furniture. We bought a zinc dining room table and six chairs. I'm now updating this review after living with this dining room set for the past year or so. Just a week or so after purchase, the wood base on the table chipped off on one of the legs so now it looks worn out. The table is crooked and doesn't sit flat so we have to put cardboard under a leg to make it stay even. The table is very unstable feeling. Not what you would expect for a $1,000 table. Also the table top is zinc and my table is in front of a bright window so anytime you leave a glass or something on the table for any length of time, it burns circles or squares into the zinc. So the table looks really shabby. The chairs are decent, but the chair covers that were included in the sale were so cheap they fell apart the first week we had them. All the ties came off and they don't really fit the chairs correctly either. I did like the owners at this store they were very polite, but the quality of merchandise at least with the items I bought was not what you would expect. I could have bought much better quality merchandise from Restoration Hardware for the same price. Actually, the same chairs I bought for $150 here were on sale for $100 at Restoration the same week I bought them. I made a mistake by not shopping around before buying from this store. Do your homework if you buy from here before you purchase. read more

I brought my daughter into HtgT Furniture to help her find living and dining room furniture for her condo she just purchased. She was on a very limited budget. I liked that Elaine spent time to educate her about what to look for while shopping for the pieces of furniture she needed. She ended up getting a beautiful dining table there that was just the size and style she wanted. Dana, who works in the store, was also very helpful in taking our order over the phone, when the table was ultimately purchased.
