The name of this company is a bit of a misnomer; to my knowledge, there is no peanut butter in any of the products. I stumbled upon The Peanut Butter Pig at the One of a Kind Show a few weeks ago, and for this reason alone, I'm so glad that my friend and I went to the food section (I was going to skip it because I knew things would be tempting!). I've had bacon candy at a couple of restaurants in the suburbs, and it's good. But this is better than those places, for many reasons. First and foremost, the restaurants' version doesn't taste as good unless you have it in the restaurant and eat it immediately. The chef at Peanut Butter Pig has masterfully created a treat and designed packaging here that keeps it in peak condition for an extended period. (Not indefinitely, obviously, but I gave it as a gift a couple weeks after I bought it and it was a huge hit.) What alchemy is this? There are five flavors: Sweet, spicy, savory, boozy, and very spicy. Thus far I've been able to taste the sweet, spicy, and savory flavors. They're all so fantastic it's honestly hard to choose a favorite. I especially like the sweet and spicy ones, but I wouldn't turn a single one of them down. She also makes other treats like cookies and Rice Krispie treats with candied bacon bits, fudge... very inventive and all delicious. Got the sampler box for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. The pieces in all three bags were rock hard and tasted horrible. Neither of us could get through a single piece. I suspect this box was sitting in a warehouse for months before being shipped. If not, that makes the product even more sad. Waste of money. read more
