We were very happy with Dr Strassberg as he walked us through potential scenarios and what to look out for if the condition worsened or improved, fortunately nothing serious this time. This space also has their own x-ray so you don't have to go somewhere else to figure out another appointment, so that was nice. After paying $50 for the visit for my son's hand injury, they did not give me a copy of the xray report. Furthermore, results of tests done and even the visit note are not available in the patient portal. Only the appointment and documentation that the patient was seen is on the patient portal. You need to request test results, CD of Xray and physician visit note from their medical records and pay a fee for everything. How ridiculous! Lesson learned, next time I will go to a proper pediatric ortho doctor's office and avoid such hassles! read more

The over billing is disgraceful. I took my daughter to the "after hours clinic". On the web page it states "there maybe an extra fee". They charged me $150 before they even asked why I was there. This is in ADDITION TO MY REGULAR INSURANCE. I work for the state and have amazing insurance. When I complained the office manager called me and said the fee was a "convenience" fee, there was nothing convenient about that practice. I will never go back. read more

Dr. Rieger is amazing! He always put the kids at ease with his silly jokes. He ask them questions directly, which shows he really cares. While we are not happy that our children have scoliosis, we are grateful that we were referred to Dr. Rieger. He performed surgery on my daughter 5 years ago and did a beautiful job ensuring she didn't have a huge ugly scar. He spoke to her about her strength and how proud she should be of herself. He does an amazing job making both kids feel heard and making them laugh. He is great with the kids and us as parents, he listens to our concerns. I think what's most important to speak on is the care you recieve and bedside manor: we've used this office for over a year and a half for my sons bilateral club foot. the office staff are extremely kind and helpful and the Drs. are incredible. Dr Bloom changed our sons life. We've been to this office about 10 times and had been very happy in the past, regardless of the wait. Today, we arrived at 10:10am. I signed up on the walk in form. They open at 10. We waited until 11:10 when I went back to the desk as we saw several people get called into the office before us that arrived after us. Turns out not only did they miss our registration and left us sitting there, the doctor on call doesn't take our insurance and would be a $500 fee to see the doctor. 1. If you're a member of a group practice, EVERY DOCTOR IN THE PRACTICE SHOULD TAKE THE SAME INSURANCE!!!!!! 2. Incompetent where the people at the desk spent more time yapping with each other than paying attention to their jobs. 3. You have a website. How about listing the insurances each doctor accepts and which doctor will be on call for Saturday walking. That would save patients wasted time. My daughter broke her leg and was referred to this practice where she was seen by Dr. Strassberg. The doctor very briefly examined her and said that she needed to wait for a cast, even though she had no signs of swelling or bruising. He didn't remove the bandage wrap to make this determination, he just said to come back in a week. We sought a 2nd opinion at another practice where she was immediately put into a cast and we were advised to stop administering the very strong pain medication Dr. Strassberg had prescribed. Office staff demand arrivals of 40 minutes ahead of schedule for new patients (regardless of whether you have your paperwork already filled out), and 15 minutes ahead of schedule for regular appointments. They also share some attitude with you if you don't adhere to this policy. read more

The wait is ridiculous. They asked me to come 30 mins before my appointment. We did and it has been over an hour and we are still in the waiting room. Meanwhile they took my copay and other patients have come and gone. I notified the receptionist and to no avail. This is the absolute worst. No organization what so ever. read more

I had to update my review... my daughter had a sports injury to her ankle. After the usual hour long wait, we were told by Dr Lin that she just needed a brace and could still play sports. Fast forward a month she wasn't getting any better at all, still in pain, we decided to get a second opinion. Was told by a different physician (who FWIW, only had a 10 minute wait) that she really should've been in a boot to immobilize her ankle, and she ended up in a cast so it could fully heal; which it did after being in a boot post-cast, and then a brace. Between the extreme wait times, the over-crowded office, the attitude of the staff and now this we won't be back ever again. read more

My son broke his arm and needed a cast. The Dr was excellent and very helpful. However, when we called to have a return to sports release faxed to us the office staff has fallen off the rails. First they responded quickly and faxed a form stating my son had been in the office that day, when it was a week prior. Since it was too late to call last night, we began an exercise in futility. Waited over an hour on 1 hold after another. When we grew tired of this we called again and got to speak to someone who immediately said they would send us the release we needed....then 4 hours later nothing. So we called again. She takes time to truly listen to concerns, perform a thorough physical exam, and give sound, evidence-based medical care. I cannot even give one star to this group, especially Dr. David Lin. I brought my daughter in with a torn ACL. Dr Linn performed the surgery, however shortly after, my daughter complained of severe pain. She was put on a machine to keep her leg/knee mobile and each day we had to increase the movement. She would scream in pain. After five trips to the office, Dr Reiger and Dr Lin dismissed my daughter's concerns and obvious signs in the knee area where she was operated by telling me that she should "Suck it Up" and that his work was perfect so there was no need for him to do an xray. His brilliant advise- give her a warm compress and Aleve. He then informed me that he thought it was some sort of blood clot. (She had a lump in her knee with red dots) Who tells a mother that and sends you home with that information?- YEP-Dr.LIN When I was not getting the answers I wanted, we followed up with my pediatrician. She contacted Dr Lin, who then told her to have me take my daughter to a dermatologist !!! (I was in the room when she was talking to him and I heard the entire ridiculous conversation) The lump was clearly inside the skin not outside. My pediatrician immediately told me he was useless and ordered an MRI and Xray of my daughter's knee. FINAL RESULT OF MRI and XRAY: Dr Lin left a broken guidewire in my daughter's knee!!!!!!! All the pain that my 12 year old endured was due to malpractice. He left a broken wire in her leg while operating and that was what all the pain was from. My daughter had to go under another operation to remove this wire (of course we used a more qualified doctor) but the damage was done. Even 13 years later, she does not have full motion of her knee because of all the scar tissue that the sharp guide wire had ruined. If Dr Lin would have only listened to our complaints and did something when we first brought it to his attention, her knee maybe would not have been that bad. But because he dismissed us each time, was cocky that his work was perfect, and wouldnt get off his high horse maybe the wire that he left in would have not stayed in her leg for three months causing internal damage. Please stay far away from this group. read more

Billing practices leave a lot to be desired. Office collected copay although school insurance was covering injury. Refund of overpayment has yet to be made since 4/2016. I reached out to the Billing Dept. on 5/17 and was advised to write a letter directly to Physician and mail it to the office. The physician will review my letter to decide on next steps. I personally would say very little being considered with writing a letter to the physician; however, I will try to do it anyway. Stay tune with the outcome. !!! In conclusion, to all of you as parents be very careful when making a decision to see "specialist" because s/he will absolutely itemized everything that you're being treated. Y E S !!!. . . . that's why a simple injury will end up with 3 CPT codes or more. Believe it or not, there are providers out there is primary operation to make more money than care their patients. I will let you to decide on this matter. At least to me, it has happened too many times. read more

We went to this place on the recommendation of the Morristown ER after my son broke his arm. I called early on Monday morning and was able to get an appointment for later that morning. The receptionist was exceptionally rude, demanding I print out and complete all the forms before coming into the office and telling me SIX times to be there 45 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Once we got to the office (45 minutes early as requested), the reception area was PACKED. There were multiple children with broken legs standing up because there was so little seating available. We waited for nearly two hours before seeing the doctor. The doctor was exceptional, and the only reason the practice warrants any stars at all. Once he confirmed the diagnosis made in the ER, he stated a nurse practitioner would be in to assist the tech with the cast. The tech eventually got tired of waiting and applied the cast alone. We saw a different doctor to get the cast removed; he was also fantastic. Then it was time for the bill. I received it and paid it with our health savings account credit card. Got a second bill that they weren't able to process it. I sent it again. Got a call threatening to send us to collections. Gave her the payment info right there on the phone, confirmed they wouldn't recharge us when they received the bill I mailed back to them, and asked her to call me back if she had any issues processing it (since she refused to do it while I was on the phone). I didn't hear anything until two weeks later, when they called again trying to threaten us with collections. I immediately logged into my health savings account, which clearly showed the payment was processed on the date I spoke to them on the phone. I politely told them this and was met with major attitude until they finally located the transaction in their records. NEVER. AGAIN. It is really too bad the office staff is so unbearable, because the doctors seem quite capable. read more

Let me say that Dr. Rieger was excellent and I have no problem with the service my son received. My problem was with billing. I made two visits to this office with my son and both times I paid the copay asked of me. As it turns out my health insurance company had increased my copay by five dollars so I had an arrears of ten dollars. No problem. The thing I take issue with is that I had to cancel an appointment and called the office more than 24 hours prior to my actual appointment, telling them that we would not be able to make it. No problem they said. Two weeks later I get a bill for $60. When I called to find out why I had such a large bill the woman informed me that I had a copay balance of $10 and a cancelation charge of $50 for not cancelling my appointment 48 hours prior as is their written office policy. I explained to her that things come up and that I did call more than 24 hours prior but she said it was their written policy and that they would refer the matter for collection if I did not pay. Needless to say I was livid. I can certainly understand having the courtesy to call to either cancel or reschedule appointments in a reasonable time. But this office was taking advantage of the legal system to bully people into paying a fee for cancelation. They are turning what is generally considered a courtesy and making it a revenue stream. I will never again use the services of this office and urge anyone else reading this review to seek alternative medical care. I work too hard for my money to be ripped off by this aggressive and unscrupulous practice. read more

Beware. He took my 17 yr old daughter in to same room as my 14 yr old son. Had them both wait naked except for paper robes for 45 minutes. Literally spent 15 minutes with both. The doctors are great! We've been here for various sports related injuries over the years and I have been very happy with the medical treatment my children have received. The office is very accommodating and I was able to get same day appointments when my children were injured. The doctors have always put my children at ease and the support staff is courteous and professional. Yes, I agree with the other reviewer that the office can be quite busy and long wait times are not unusual. However, it is probably because they are willing to squeeze in emergency visits rather than tell you they are too busy and send you to the ER. That's a trade-off I'm willing to make. read more

I had an appointment for my daughter on New Year's Eve with Dr. Rieger for 11:10 am, at the Cedar Knolls office. I arrived at my appointment time only to be told that the doctor can not see us b/c I was supposed to arrive fifteen minutes prior to fill out paperwork. I was never told that and received multiple texts stating see you at 11:10. I even called to confirm the day before that they had received my referral and to confirm appointment time and location. I had taken off from work and driven 30 miles only to be turned away and punished for arriving at my appointment time. I begged the office staff to see my child while I filled out the paperwork, only to be rudely told (Sonja) nope we are unable to see your child. Disgusting and sinful office. Shame on you pediatric orthopedic center! Please properly advise patients that the appointment time given is not actually the appointment time! read more

The lack of responsiveness and common courtesy to be able to speak to someone live is enough for me to go elsewhere. Leaving an direct number or extension to get in touch with someone is really not too much to ask for or that difficult. read more

We saw 2 doctors there for 2 different reasons for my daughter. And both doctors were great! Unfortunately the rest of the staff is rude and incompetent. First, the receptionists are unfriendly. The second and most aggravating part, watch out for the billing department!!! I got a call from a collection agency stating that we have an overdue bill of $54, that I'm not even aware of. Never received a billing statement for it, and when the collection agency mentioned my address, it was our old address from 6 years ago!!! But the service in question was from last year!!! And if they have my current home number, how can they not have my current address???!!! And then I got another overdue bill from them in the mail for a different amount, when I called their billing department AGAIN, they said they have no record of that bill!!! As much as I'm satisfied with the doctors there, NEVER again would I go back there. I wish there was a way that these doctors will be aware of these matters. read more

First they charged incorrectly for our visit (three services that we know weren't provided), and then the folks who answer the phone are not only unapologetic, they are condescending and completely unprofessional. Receptionist was SO snotty. I called advocare in Springfield for my daughter to get a cast put on her fractured wrist. We had already been to the ER and had xrays saved to a CD. Upon arrival, i let the receptionist know that we would be paying out of pocket and she informed me there would be a $500 deposit. I asked what would happen with the $500 after the visit and she said "well your appt will exceed $500 for sure." What?! We didn't even need x-rays! Then when I let her know we had been to Dr Liggio in Millburn for my daughters last cast, she said "well he's not in Ouuurr practice, I don't even know who that is." Dr Liggio is one of the most well known pediatric orthopedists in the area. I also informed her that we had paid under $200 for the visit and cast with Dr Liggio and I was shocked at the expense of this office. She then informed me that "oh that wouldn't even cover the office visit here." I don't know why that is something she seemed proud of, but we left and went to Dr. Liggio- visit, waterproof cast and kind staff-all for $140. I am glad I knew better but I am sure they take advantage of those who don't. How can you be so rude when you work in an office that specializes in helping children?! read more

Dr. Rieger was absolutely terrible. First he requires a deposit of $100 on a credit card just to schedule an appointment for a 2nd opinion. He will charge you if you fail to show up. I arrived 1 hour prior to my appointment and gave all paperwork(MRI,Xrays,Blood Work) to office staff. They needed the 1st doctor's notes. (they never told me that they needed it). Dr. Rieger REFUSED to see my child just because I could not provide the doctor's notes. The staff (rude) said he wants to see the other doctors opinion first. Dr. Rieger is more afraid of contradicting another doctor than having compassion and proper care to patients. He never gave me the respect of telling me personally. He made his office staff turn me away. I wasted 2.5 hours waiting for a doctor who could care less about patients. read more

Unfortunately, this review speaks more to the inability of the office to function properly, and less to the skill set of Dr. Strassberg or the other doctors at the practice. The first time we visited the center, we waited for 4.5 hours with an 18 month old to be seen by Dr Srassberg. They shuffled us from one waiting room to another, every 45 minutes, without even being seen by a nurse or assistant for 2.5 hours. Oh, and the waiting room was PACKED. Like, kids on crutches had to lean against the wall because there were no seats. Once we were finally seen by the doctor, he ran out mid-sentence to help cast another patient and didn't return for another half hour. He spent, eh, maybe 7 total minutes with my toddler and determined we should come back for yearly checkups and x rays. Knowing how awful of an experience we had the first time around, I called 4 months prior to the one year mark to make an early morning appointment. I figured if we were first, we wouldn't have to sit through the aggregation of a full day's worth of delays. Starting 2 weeks prior to my appointment, the office started calling to reschedule. They did this three times in the week leading up to the appointment, then once more, less that 20 hours before her newly scheduled appointment. With no apology. This office treats their patients like they are disposable. It was a nightmare and I'm glad to say we have found another Orthopedist who runs their practice in a manner that is respectful and considerate to their patients. For shame on Advocare, they truly are THE WORST. The office staff is awful, and it is apparent in their operations. read more
