The Pepper Mill is a wonderful experience. We knew it was going to be delicious based on the many cars in the parking lot. The restaurant is very charming on the inside and outside. The seats were comfortable and the ambiance it was warm and inviting. Our server, Becky was attentive and friendly. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip which was clearly made on site. The flavours were so perfect and I could tell they used marinated artichokes. It made it a unique yet familiar experience. I had the Italian wedding soup and my friend had the Caesar salad to start . I like that all the meals come with standard steakhouse options, including starters. We both chose a mixed grill so that we could have a taste of everything. It came with vegetables, and then we had an option of either pasta with Alfredo sauce, fries, wild rice, or the potato of the day. I went with pasta with Alfredo sauce. It was so yummy. And I want to give a shout out to the half rack ribs that come with the mixed grill. Everything was tender and juicy. But the ribs were definitely the big star of that show. I also ordered a virgin Caesar. Which was absolutely perfect. I think one of the reasons that the food is so good is because it's really obvious that everybody there cares about the food and the customer. And they care about each other. The interactions between staff that I witnessed showed that they work together very well as a team, but also They like each other. I will definitely come back to the Pepper Mill. read more

Food is top notch. Table top ok but would have preferred a paper place mat to place my Utensils on instead of a a table top that may be clean or maybe not. Be We were served our dinner with desert forks instead of dinner forks. Waitress was pleasant. read more

It was alright, I was just expecting a lot more. Appetizers were good, but there was nothing truly special about them that made them memorable or stand out. Overall, the entrees were decent, but also very plain. (Their Mixed Grill was the best thing we ate). Service was pretty slow and mediocre, but in the end, they got our food on the table, and didn't forget anything. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a nice night out with their group or family, but I wouldn't go here expecting anything extravagant or shockingly delicious. read more

I visited The Pepper Mill on my drive home from the cottage. The food was great! I ordered the regular size smoked chicken carbonara pasta while my partner had the chicken club sandwich. Both were excellent. I loved the garlic pickles they used on the club sandwich - totally made it! The pasta was delicious too. It fed me for three separate meals. It was $2 less to get the smaller size so I thought, "what's $2 more!?". I'm happy I did as my fridge was empty when I got home so it made for a yummy a late night bite and breakfast the next morning. I was worried the chicken pieces would be huge since I was completed meat'd out but the chicken pieces were bite size & cubed. Plenty of prosciutto, too. The garlic bread was probably the best I've ever had, no lie. I should also add how much I liked their fries. They were served hot and crispy and not too salty. I've heard really good things about their burgers so I'll have to try those next time. The parking situation can be a bit tight during long weekends so keep that in mind. When we arrived there were plenty of spots and by the time we left we had another vehicle waiting to take our place. PS, the dress code seems to vary. I saw lots of locals dressed up and the tourists not so dressed up. I wreaked of bug spray and campfire and was wearing an XL males wife-beater, greasy bun & Blue Jays cap and short shorts and was allowed to dine in just fine. Don't by shy, head on in! read more

Excellent meal and service. Visited for supper on Sept 10, 2022 while staying at The HIghlands Motel just a few steps away with my wife and 2 teenage grandchildren. All enjoyed their meals. Excellent portions - had take aways for another meal. Both seafood and pasta selected for the meals with a couple of appetizers. Prices are in line with higher end dining. Will be back again soon. read more

We had the steak and seafood trio - the steak was beautifully seasoned and the scallops was a great size. We also had a pasta that was a little under seasoned and overcooked. Still good, just had a little room for improvement. Service was lovely too! read more

Busy place- salad was nice and fresh- good size for a side. Chicken breasts have that spongy texture from being brined- not my fave- won't order chicken again. Maybe stick to beef- service was super fast last time, super slow this time- but it was the long weekend. read more

Simple ambiance in the place, reserve for dinner time as it is a popular dining place. Had their Mixed Meat Platter, all the meat was cooked well, vegetables were a bit watery though. This place has prompt service overall, although sometimes servers are inexperienced. I have also had their daily catch fish, which is often very good depending in the type of fish offered. read more

I have been going to the Pepper Mill for 15yrs now and it is always our go too restaurant when we are up at the cottage and don't feel like cooking. Food is fabulous and gives a homecooked feel. The menu has everything for everyone. Cost and amount of food you get is incredible. The employees, especially the ones that have been around forever are wonderful. Summers are so busy and it takes time for your meal to come, but we don't mind at all as your food always comes hot and fresh! It is always best to make a reservation during the summer months. read more

My wife and I had a lovely dinner. The menu is impressive with a nice selection of steaks, pastas and casual dining choices. A pleasant surprise to find this restaurant. It is right off Hwy 35 with plenty of parking. There were lots of cottagers and locals enjoying a Sunday evening out. The place was full. read more

We came in as a group of four on Monday evening. Keep in mind we came from Ajax so about a 2 hour drive before stopping at the cottage. We came in and ordered apps, the garlic bread with cheese and bacon was dripping in an oil granted I didn't say anything since I just assumed they used a cheap cheese. It also came 5-7 minutes after everyone else apps so whoever waited for me their app was cold, and whoever didn't was finished by the time mine showed up. Finally the mains arrived and oh man, the seafood fettuccine was literally dripping in an oil, so I mentioned something and the waitress was nice ever to say she'd take it off the bill BUT someone came over and said "everything is homemade therefore the oil is from whipping cream" okay, fine but then she continues to say there is nothing wrong therefore she isn't taking it off my bill. Excuse me, I had taken two bites and my mouth was coated in oil but there is nothing wrong. While I was having an awful time my best friend ordered the veil baked pasta which tasted like canned Mr.Ravioli like are you kidding me, if everything is hand made why does it taste like it came out of a can?! All and all this place was brutal and we will never be coming back that's for sure. read more
