They probably have no control over rates, but the most recent renewal quote for auto insurance was OUTRAGEOUS. I finally decided to make the move, and I received a quote from another broker that was $3000 less than what Allstate wanted to renew my current auto policy at. (no accident history, no teen drivers, mature drivers only) Yes, you read that right. I can't even believe that we stayed with Jeffery Torrice Allstate as long as we did. Shame on me. Having never lived in Detroit prior to this home purchase, I had no idea what to expect my insurance premium to be. I had renters insurance through Liberty Mutual and so I assumed I would just convert that policy to a homeowners policy. Wrong! When I got the quote from liberty to insure the house, it came in at $15,000 a year! Even the customer service representative thought that it must be a mistake. It wasn't and other insurers I subsequently contacted were also very high with their quotes. Rapidly getting discouraged and expecting this to be the norm, I was throughly surprised when I contacted Pam Mowatt State Farm agency and received a quote for about 1/3 of what the others had quoted me. I didn't hesitate to place my business with State Farm Insurance and I have been with them for 3 years and have never regretted it. Pam and Robin Pedica are just great to work with. They routinely check in with me and annually set up a meeting to go over the policy and together we search for discounts. This year, when my policy was scheduled to go up considerably ,Pam was able to spot an opportunity for me to get a major discount by bundling My policy with an auto policy and it was really a surprising difference in price. Had she not taken the time to do this and explain it to me, I never would have known and would have continued and just had to live with the large price increase at renewal .Pam And Robin even took time to help me with an insurance matter I had with a different Carrier that had nothing to do with state farm, but they advised me and even took a look at some of the paperwork to make sure I was being treated appropriately by the other insurance Carrier. I think these guys are fantastic and I won't go anywhere else because truly, they have earned my business.
