Absolutely LOVE this place but only receiving 4-stars for the following reasons:…read more First, If you sit back near the SRO (bar area), ALL you hear is people talking and the clinking of glass. Horribly distracting. The WORST place to stand or sit near if you're in the back of the Orchestra (latter rows)! Two, if you sit along the left wall (Orchestra), there is an alcove of sorts closer to the front of the stage. There is a TV in there (WHY, I don't know!), that is left on during performances. If you're in seats along the wall, you 'will' be distracted from the glare of the television light (as I recently was back in Row N!). Lastly, lobby bar prices are INSANE: $38 for a single serving CAN of wine and a single serve bottle of Prosecco. We had just come from a very nice restaurant and paid well less than that for quality!

I fell in love with the historic Capital Theatre the minute I walked in. Just a spectacular old building. While the show we saw, I won't say who, wasn't the greatest concert in the world the sound production and sight lines made for a really pleasant concert experience. Oh, and I should mention that the parking was a piece of cake. The reason this venue only gets three stars is simple: the bartenders were massively over serving. This was by far the drunkest crowd of concert-goers I've ever been in. It was literally unsafe. The venue gets props for having gender neutral bathrooms...they just don't have enough of them. The lines were nuts and for this show there were booze-fueled fights happening while you were waiting to take a leak. All in all, not a great vibe.

I'd heard of the White Plains Performing Arts Center before, but this was my first time seeing a…read moreshow there -- and it definitely won't be my last. The ticket prices were reasonable, and the seating was surprisingly spacious. The seats are wide with lots of legroom, and there's enough space for people to walk by without you having to stand up -- which was a nice change from most theaters. The staff was super helpful, and during intermission, they even let us know we could use the movie theater bathrooms next door to avoid the lines. That kind of hospitality is something you don't usually get in Manhattan theaters. We saw Dreamgirls and it was a fantastic performance. All the singers had incredibly strong voices, the stage design and costumes were beautifully done, and the choreography really brought it all together. My only critique is that at times, the orchestra overpowered the vocals, making it a little hard to understand the lyrics -- and I imagine that might have been tough for some of the older audience members as well. A slight adjustment in sound balance would make a big difference. I went to a Saturday matinee, and while I'm not sure how many shows they do per day, the crowd leaned more toward middle-aged and older folks. Parking was a breeze -- there's a paid garage, and if you park on the fifth floor, you can walk right across the bridge directly into the theater. A few days before the show, I received an email with all the info I needed, including where to park and what to expect. Great communication. Overall, it was an excellent experience and a top-notch production. I'll absolutely be keeping an eye on future performances at this venue.

This woman is so miserable, it probably hurts her to smile. She's never once said hello to me nor my family; and gets some sort of a power kink by tossing the tickets instead of handing them to us. Please give her some customer service friendliness training. It's funny how the PA literally begs for support and money before every show...but with that woman still being rude to everyone, yall will lose our support soon. Let's hope she doesn't pull this nonsense again at "Finding Neverland" in December.

After being in the school for eight years, essentially growing up here as I am now eighteen years old, I have learned and received high quality dance training, artistry, ethical and moral values, and proper dance and life etiquette. Because of Mme. Alexis, I have been accepted into the summer programs of Washington School of Ballet and Ballet West Academy; I have attended the summer intensives of notable schools such as Paris Opera Ballet School, Bolshoi Ballet Academy NYC, School of American Ballet Theatre, and Juilliard Dance -- where I was allocated at the highest levels. Despite the pleasant memories and the lovely acquaintances I made in these programs, I will always return to Ballet des Amériques as it is because of this school -- along with the faculty and staff, that has made so much possible for me. In Ballet des Amériques, every teacher is attentive and caring towards every single student. There is no tolerance towards negativity including gossip, bullying, rumors, and favoritism. Because of this, the school has a positive professional ambiance that has us students thriving for success. As an upcoming graduate, I see the younger students with nothing but excitement for the firsts they're going to have, and pride for the joy and professionalism they are attaining at such a young age. It has come to my full awareness that Ballet des Amériques cultivates our minds and hearts to become dedicated, passionate, intelligent, and kind human beings, all while teaching the tradition of dance at a high quality. It is my second year as a trainee in the professional dance company of Ballet des Amériques. Through this, I can continue my advanced ballet training, develop my artistry, and learn how to work in a professional environment. I am both honored and humbled to be working alongside amazing dancers and to have the opportunity to learn the exquisite repertoire and choreography of Mme. Alexis. The rigorous rehearsals and the vivid performances continue to fuel the fire of dance in my heart. All in all, I highly recommend Ballet des Amériques as a quality school, and as a company to watch regularly. I have nothing but love and gratitude for Mme. Carole Alexis, and for all of BdA.

The Director and faculty members are dedicated and extremely generous with their time and knowledge. The performances are a delight ! A class ACT!

I think they started in upper Westchester maybe in Chappaqua, by a young Anya Wallach who might have been still a teenager, she wrote an autobiography and she is cute as a button. There are people who love so much how they run their programs here at RFK that these parents drive out from NJ and CT. They have different programs, my kid started as a Jelly Bean, then she went to join a different group for a few years, we returned, I was surprised they remembered her and me, she did a year of New Kid, and she has done a few mainstages, because she wanted to do certain shows and hoped to get certain characters. At RFK, they remind us of there are no small roles, every character is important. They are extremely positive here. I am not sure how many more years we will stay with them, all depends if she goes to college locally or too far away. She is hoping to get into one of these fiercely competitive BFA or Conservatory programs. I also love how they have a photographer who helps with amazing professional headshots at a good, decent price, am thankful for that. I believe RFK have the resources to help kids have an opportunity to get to NYC's Broadway. We have not tried but I have seen plenty of other kids from RFK do Broadway shows, television shows, commercials, etc. I would like to add that I am thoroughly happy that the performances are at the Tarrytown Music Hall, an historical stage close to my heart, that was saved by the Riegleson family (look up Mozartina Conservatory on Prospect Ave), 2nd generation taken over and doing a marvelous job of getting great shows to Tarrytown.

This is a very child-centered organization with the focus on helping the kids be the best they can be in a very supportive environment. It is a great place to start if your child has no experience and to develop and grow as they improve. The audition processes for mainstages and workshops are very fair and there is a great mix of professional and nonprofessional kids. Casing is also equitable and there is no favoritism. Our kids will be doing Random Farms programs for many years to come. Of the youth theatre opportunities in the New York area, this is the best we have found for our children.
