It's not what it once was. The old owner, who was great, had handed the reigns to another care giver and their mate about two years ago, and I wasn't really stoked about their care. You wouldn't tell I had cats unless you saw them because their litter boxes are always clean. I stepped into my house upon returning home and it stunk. Not like cat piss just yucky uncleanliness. I immediately cleaned out what should've been clean boxes and opened the windows-this was in March so still a bit chilly. However we crack our windows upstairs, all the time to help circulate fresh air in. It took a far to get back to normal. Then water got all over my mail, destroying a magazine. It wasn't dried off, they kept piling up the mail on top, leaving the magazine to stick to the table and other damp pieces. Not impressed, definitely not the Pet Nanny I had come to rely on. read more

Pet Nanny did feed our cat, but that was all. They did not follow the instructions that we provided. One critical thing: they failed to properly administer our cat's prescription medication. Our cat's litter box has a pad at the bottom which catches the pee. Our instructions described how to change the pad. It wasn't done. The pad was saturated and overflowing when we came home. Additionally, before the scheduled caregiving could begin we were asked to provide a new house key because the one Pet Nanny had was somehow broken in their storage system. If the mission of Pet Nanny is "Caring for Your Pet So You Can Have Peace of Mind", they have failed. Pet Nanny has demonstrated incompetence at this relatively easy job. Pet Nanny was sold in 2019 and the new owners do not live up to the standards of pet care that the business is known for. read more

This woman who owns this business called me (at 9:00 PM on a Friday from a private number) and asked what breed of dog our lab-pitbull mix was, and repeatedly asked if he looked more pitbull than lab. She then told me she was afraid of pitbulls and proceeded to lecture me on how there was a good possibility that he could be unpredictably dangerous and that she knows because she works with dogs. Frankly, I've taken our dog Cerna to several doggy daycares since he was a puppy without incident. Having never bitten anyone, and always being a favorite at daycare, to be told that he's a potential threat, moreso than any other breed (she says Dobermans and German Shepards are more trustworthy) was frankly offensive and I ended our conversation promptly. Cerna is a smart, energetic and very loving dog. There's no intelligent logic behind discriminating against a breed of dog that you've never met on an individual basis. My girlfriend and I are very disappointed in this poor business experience and will take our business elsewhere. read more

Absolutely not. I see previous people have had problems with pitbulls. I have two adorable kittens. This has nothing to do with breed. This is about professionalism and knowing how to run a business. I have run my own business for 12 years. Especially with new clients, I would absolutely make sure I confirmed a first appointment. I have to leave for 3 weeks tomorrow morning. I confirmed with her sister, Bonnie, who said she was answering calls, that Debbie would be here today, Monday, at 4pm. I emphasized, since Debbie couldn't come by over the weekend that I would be completely screwed if Monday did not work out. Bonnie assured me I'd hear from Debbie on Sunday night to confirm and that she'd have no problem taking the job. I received no call on Sunday. I've called 4 times today since 1137am. I keep getting a voicemail and no return calls. At 337p I now see I have a message that Debbie was checking messages and concerned if I still needed her. I then have a message at 418p that she was in my parking lot... nearly 20 minutes late for our appointment. At 230p I desperately scheduled a friend of a friend because I had zero options. The other sitters in town were either unreachable or booked. I then called Debbie back and told her I was forced to make these other plans. I cannot believe someone would be so careless with any new client, especially since this was the last possible moment I could schedule a sitter. These are lives we are talking about. I can't just leave my animals for 3 weeks. Debbie is completely unprofessional and, by the tone of her voicemail, is completely unaware of it. I would try any service in town besides hers. read more

My husband and I are going on a long trip and were considering The Pet Nanny as one way to alleviate the stress of our absence for our 3 year old Pit Bull mix named Brolly. Without even suggesting to meet our dog, she simply responded with "Sorry to say...but I am afraid of pit bulls." This type of response and way of thinking is unprofessional given her line of work, biased, and irrational behavior. Not only that, but she should disclose this horrible bias on her website to be up front and honest with prospects - avoiding time wasted and misrepresentation. Pet Nanny was a wonderful experience for the family and our cat, Oliver. They came over to collect ALL the information about his (and our) preferences prior to our requested dates of service. After taking copious notes and a fun talk, they stated they would text us daily with updates about the pet sitting. Sure enough, we left town and our caregiver sent great notes and pictures each day to share with the kids. We even got stuck on our trip due to inclement weather and our caregiver came to help an extra, unplanned day....also, the fish were fed, the mail and paper were brought in, and our house was cared for too. Such a great experience! Lisa and Tobias came to our home for a visit before we left on our trip. They asked tons of questions about each of our 3 cats. Some we didn't even think of. They work with you on what time of day they need to come by that fits your usual routine. They genuinely care about your fur babies and from what I've seen, they strive to treat your babies like their own. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Debi and her team. They've sat for my two cats for two and three week stretches and both times, the cats were incredibly happy. Sure they missed me, but they weren't anxious or stressed by the experience. I just adopted a 5 mo. old American Foxhound mix that they will be walking and while discussing that, I got all sorts of tried and true tips and tricks from Debi. We used the Pet Nanny's services for the first time a few weeks ago. We have never boarded our dogs or had a pet sitter other than my mother-in-law watch them when we were gone. When we got home from our extended weekend, our dogs were soooo relaxed and comfortable. It was as if they were saying "Oh, you guys are home - cool!" We used The Pet Nanny services again a few weeks later - same thing. The dogs were calm and relaxed when we got home. The rates are excellent and the service is Fabulous!!! Pet owners worst nightmare!! I just came home from a 6 day vacation and pet nanny was suppose to take care of my 2 cats and when I got home it was very evident that no body came at all! Their water bowls were bone dry, litter boxes filled to the max, and my sick old cat didn't get his daily medication. Thank goodness we have an automatic cat feeder or they would have starved! Dallas was great the first time they watched them but I am so appalled that they completely forgot about my cats. I talked with them 2 times about visiting them this week. So disappointed! I was on a cruise and had no cell phone service most of the time, only when I was in port. I was also told originally that their policy is that they don't do text updates so owners are not constantly annoying the sitters. So I expected the cats were fine since the first time everything went great. But clearly not, luckily my cats are okay. read more

Website says "experience in animal behavior", that's completely and totally not accurate. Shocked that this would even be put on the website. Nervous pets should never be looked in the eye, you should never walk directly towards them or approach them, but let them approach you. They don't refill water for cats or dogs at each visit, they forget to clean litter box, they don't take full 30 minute walks as stated when you book with them. Caregivers working for them have expressed how when they are late or accidentally forget to do a visit, their first response is "well does the house have cameras?", that's their first concern, rather than owning up and being responsible and contacting the owner. If you want great pet care, find a friend, find someone in the vet field. Do not trust this company. read more

We recently hired the Pet Nanny team to help with our 3 dogs while I was out of town and my boyfriend was home, but very busy. One of the dogs in particular has some quirks and I was worried about having just anyone take care of him. I couldn't be happier! Debi spent a lot of time meeting the dogs and gathering thorough information about each dog when we met, before I left town. She's professional, detail-oriented and very knowledgeable. Pet Nannies, Justin and Katherine came by and did a great job in caring for the pups, leaving notes after each visit with updates on how things went. They have provided fantastic and warm care for our animals and we always feel good about knowing they are in good hands with Pet Nanny. Plus, they bring in mail and make sure everything is in order. By far the best care my pets and I have ever received! I left on vacation knowing that I didn't have to worry as my pets were in the their own home, in their own beds, with loving people to care of them. My husband and I adore The Pet Nanny. Debi was extremely thorough in our introductory meeting, ensuring that she had every bit of information about my very timid, formerly feral, 6-year-old cat, Archie. I felt comfortable with her very quickly which is helpful considering I'm very particular about who cares for him. One of her team members, Tyler, takes care of Archie when we're gone and I've never known my cat to allow anyone, other than my husband or me, to touch or hold him. After only a few visits, Archie was in Tyler's arms. I'm still shocked. We always come home to a happy cat who doesn't punish us anymore for abandoning him, an organized stack of mail, watered plants (when applicable), and a secure home. We also have a home security system that they've successfully interacted with each time. Their visits are consistent in regards to time of day and the length of each visit. They are very observant and even contacted me via email during one of our trips to notify me of a non-emergent change in Archie's, umm, litter box activity. They knew exactly what to do and offered to take him to our vet if things didn't get back on track. All was well but I greatly appreciated the attention and the timely heads up. Debi and her team have always been available to us even at the last minute. Their flexibility is hard to find and much, much appreciated! I highly recommend them! (side note: you might not get a call/email back from Debi until around 9pm at night...but this is due to the fact that she and her team are out taking care of clients' pets all day, all over the area) read more

I NEVER write Yelp reviews (this may be my first one, now that I think about it). So that says something. I have a very skittish cat who does not do well in new environments, traveling, or stressful situations. I found two services that come to your home to take care of your pets while you are away, one of them being the Pet Nanny. The other service cost something like $25 a day plus $15 a day on holidays. Compare that to Debi's $16 per day, any day, no matter what. When Debi came by my house she asked a ton of thorough, amazing questions, some of which I didn't even think to address. She even gave me advice on how to get my cat to drink more water, which aids in preventing liver and kidney disease, and the advice absolutely worked. Furthermore, she counciled me on why my cat might eat so often and throw up so much, advice that also worked and probably saved me several hundreds dollars at the vet. As Debi and I talked, my very shy, skittish cat came right up to her to be petted. She trusted her immediately. I was convinced. I left for 7 days with Debi's team coming every other day, and when I returned the place was clean with plenty of food and water. Plus a clean litterbox. She even left a holiday card and a toy for my cat. Amazing, amazing experience. Thanks Debi! read more

We have had a number of dogs over the years and they bonded with all of the Pet Nannies, with Bonnie being a favorite.
