McCalla has been cat sitting for us for over 2 years at this point and we couldn't be happier with her services. Our cat can be very skittish, and doesn't deal well with change of any kind, but McCalla won her over after the first few visits, and now she comes out of her hiding place for treats nearly every time. McCalla has been walking our young, strong, energetic rescue dog for almost a year, every weekday around noon. Our hound can be very loud, and our goldie can be reactive, but McCalla skillfully manages them so that everyone is safe and has a great time. McCalla is the BEST. She has minded my senior lab, Dinsford, twice now and did a wonderful job both times. In addition to making sure Dins got his food, water, medication, and bathroom breaks, she loved him like he was her own while I was away. She snuggled him, took him on long walks, visited the park, and he even made some dog and human friends! Best of all, I think, she tired him out right before I came home from the airport, so I could relax for a bit when I got home. So thoughtful! I'm a big worrier but I didn't worry at all while McCalla was taking care of him. She sent loads of lovely photos and adorable updates. McCalla walks our dogs once a day and occasionally house-sits while we're out. On most days, she sends a photo of the pups on their walk, looking tired and happy. Our dogs are 75lbs each, and not always the best behaved on the leash. McCalla handles them amazingly. Dogwalking seems to be a labor of love for McCalla. She genuinely cares her clients' animals. McCalla is fantastic. We have two small dogs who we consider high maintenance and McCalla is SO good with them. From the stranger anxiety to food allergies, she's so accommodating and gentle with them. In fact, one time when we were traveling and had a house sitter who was watching our dogs, one of our dogs got very sick and had to have almost constant attention. It was clearly a difficult situation because we had to be out of town and our house sitter worked full time, but McCalla came to the rescue and on last minute's notice came to check in on our dog every few hours. We felt total peace of mind that our dogs were in great care both when one of them was sick and when they are both healthy. We can't recommend McCalla enough! read more

McCalla walks my Newfoundland Lola, who can be a bit difficult and resistant at times. McCalla has really spent the time to figure out how to best fit my dog's needs and keep her active. She also takes the time to send me updates and pictures during the day, which totally brighten my day. I had to leave town for an overnight work trip two weeks after my four-year-old dog had knee surgery for a completely torn ACL. I'm a mess after that ordeal, and he's worse--can't walk very well, is even more high-maintenance than usual, and needs knowledgeable care about what he can and cannot do given the risks involved in recovering from this major surgery. I called McCalla the week before I left and she was able to come by, meet my beloved Miles before i went out of town, and listen to the looong list of things he needs to be careful about and the various perils and tricks of dealing with a large (75-lb) injured dog who's also somewhat reactive to other dogs. I could tell from the start she meant business and really appreciated that she took the time to get to know him, took the risks of his surgery seriously (if anything goes wrong, he could be lame the rest of his life), and has experience with reactive dogs. I left for my trip and got texts and pictures each time she came by. Even though I was still a worried mom, it was a huge comfort to know he was in capable hands. Very grateful to McCalla! I would absolutely call her again. Much happier working with her than some of the larger Camberville services we've called in the past. read more
