This was my first time having Pho and it was very delicious. The restaurant is in the strip mall near the Asian market. The space is not huge and it got packed pretty quickly but they make great use of their space. The staff were very attentive and polite. The Pho selection seemed limited but as a first timer, it's great to not feel overwhelmed by a menu. The food came very quickly. Everything was quite flavorful. I'll be back to try a different Pho combination.

Very nice restaurant, but be careful, the address on Yelp and other sources is incorrect. Takes you to some apartment complex. Place is on a strip mall next to 99 Ranch. Family of four had eggs rolls, Vietnamese crepe and kimchi, and then four bowls of Pho. Egg rolls wrapped in lettuce and cilantro with a dipping sauce was very nice. Vietnamese crepe w shrimp was large and nicely crispy with shrimp, sprouts and cilantro and green onion. Cut up into small segments and could be a great app for 4-6 people. The four metal bowls with beef Pho were hot and lots of noodles and sprouts. Equivalent to a large size at most Pho places. Plenty of protein, but could make a vegetarian Pho if so desired. The menu is limited though, so appetizers and Pho have to be what you are looking for. Staff were attentive. Carafe w cold water and 4 metal cups was great. We shared two Vietnamese coffees. Our go to place for Pho now.

My friend and I finally decided to stop by this Pho spot in Edison. The restaurant is spacious but looks small on the outside. The booths are only located on the right side of the building. The staff: They are friendly and smile with their eyes. My friend thought one of them was really cute. They checked up on us from time to time and asked if we needed anything. Veggie Spring Roll: This did not taste all that great and I would not recommend it. Beef Stew Pho: This was better than I had expected and was flavorful. Overall: They could expand on their menu to give the customer more appetizer and pho options. I believe the menu is too simple and could use more variety.

Atmosphere: 5 The vibe here is awesome. Lots of sitting options and they can definitely handle bigger parties. We were seated at the booth and there were hooks where we can hang our clothes. Love that little detail. The menu is easy to understand and I love the ability to customize my pho. The wait staff were really friendly and cheerful. It definitely helped set a nice vibe for dinner! Portions: 5 The bowl of pho is huge and has tons of ingredients. I appreciate that there were ample amount of the ingredient options I chose. Some pho restaurants load up the bowl with noodles and the ratio of food per bite is off. Flavors: 5 I am obsessed with the broth! Lately, the pho restaurants I've been to tend to have overly sweetened broth. The broth is so flavorful. Not overly salty nor sweet, but still full of flavor. To note: I had the beef broth but they did also have a veggie broth option. I also ordered the spring roll (technically summer roll) and the sauce was really good. I feel like they could have included more ingredients in it and less noodles though. I also had a sip of my husband's Vietnamese coffee and it was very creamy with a nice coffee flavor. Overall, I will most likely go there again and often. Nice atmosphere, and great food! Maybe next time I will try their fried spring roll!

If you're looking for reliable, quality pho in Central New Jersey, The Pho Spot in Edison off of Route 1 would be considered staple. There is an unfounded belief that one can identify a great Vietnamese restaurant for quality food through its name, whether it has a number (i.e. 88) or contains some variety of "An" in the naming convention. While the subscription to this belief is a hit or a miss (I've come to find out through credulous studies [mainly my personal experiences] that it literally splits down the middle, working 50% of the time, all the time). Well, The Pho Spot certainly breaks that mold. The Pho Spot is divey-yet-simple-pleasant-and-enjoyable. The first part of that description comes from the analysis of its outward appearance and simple menu. The Pho Spot is conveniently located off the south bound side of Route 1 in Edison. It sits within the shadows of the bigger, more popular giants such as 99 Ranch and even Yi Fang. It sits back between Seoul Fried Chicken, a salon, and a liquor store - it really is unassuming and can be easily missed if you're not paying attention. As mentioned, the menu is quite simple. Quick caveat to this: I believe there has been some effort in expanding the menu - in addition to the base pho offerings, the restaurant has since added some other common dishes such as Gỏi Cuốn, a variety of vermicelli bowl, and Bún Bò Huế [don't quote me on this last one because I know it can be a game changer for those die hard BBH fans]. The beauty of the menu works off a make-your-own-pho-combination system: a broth type [beef or vegetable], 3 selections of meat, and garnishing add-ons. While this may appear a bit lacking, it really wows and surprises in flavor. Additionally, the flavor is ALWAYS consistent. This is saying a lot because consistent pho broth flavor is hard to find. Not only is the flavor consistent, it is probably the best in the area. Trust me. The other game changer is for those that like a bit of spice in their life. There is a chili pepper add-on that I guarantee is hotter than other Vietnamese restaurants. They must use some super-strain of Thai's Bird Eye or Serrano, whatever it is, it hits and that ish be bussin'. Really the flavor and quality of the food gives this place a 5 stars out of 5. The ambiance is really enjoyable - no blaring music or anything. It really is just a simple, sit-dine-and-enjoy type of establishment. It seems roomy, and from the different times we went, it never felt crowded with enough space to really move around. Yes, they take credit card, and no, there is no minimum charge for credit card use. Again, if you're a "pho purist" and looking for a good bowl, this is the spot [no pun intended].

Eating the pho there on the spot was better. Soup broth came out extra piping hot. Everyone was nice and the food came out super fast. I would def come here again for my pho cravings. I would recommend the Vietnamese coffee but skip on the lemonade soda as it's literally just lemonade carbonated lol. I was expecting pickled lemonade soda type of thing.

In a strip mall nestled two doors down from the mall's anchor store, 99 Ranch Market, is an unassuming pho spot. The name is appropriately named, The Pho Spot and they are right on the money with their pho. Talk about legit! I was not expecting much from the outside but everything changed when I walked through their doors. Inside was spacious and plenty of seating. I'm loving their booths! The friendly waitress gave us our menu and a glass for my husband's beer. It is a BYOB and next door happens to be a liquor store which has so many things but that's another Yelp review. Upon perusing their menu, one gets the feeling of Chipotle. Order your base broth, protein, sides... you get the picture. We ordered one vegetarian broth with bok choy, mushrooms, and tofu and the other was a bone broth with tripe, tendons, and rare steak (on the side). Both of the broths had an incredible aromatic and basil flavor. These bowls were accompanied with rice noodles, bean sprouts, cilantro, scallions, onions, and Thai Basil inside the broth. The serrano chili peppers and lime wedges were on a separate plate. I would personally prefer more bean sprouts and Thai basil. Two words to describe these bowls: heavenly and comforting! Fresh ingredients, excellent sized bowls, generous portions of proteins and add ons. Their bowls simply blew us away. Hubby and I will definitely be back. We came with a family of 10 and this place was surprisingly slow at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. This place isn't authentic by any means but they serve a pretty satisfying bowl of pho. The restaurant is very open and modern. There's a changing table inside the bathroom. Service here is great, I love how you customize your bowl (it's one of the few places where I can omit cilantro, onions, and scallions). I also love the ice water, chilis, and lime on the side. I ordered the beef bò kho from the special menu and the broth was delicious. Portion size it was very generous and the beef was tender. The bill came out around $173 and everyone left satisfied and full after.

When the owner and head chef comes out of the kitchen to teach you how to properly eat a spring roll (for the record, to be wrapped on the outside with lettuce and cilantro) you know you've found a place that is authentic and a home. Incredibly attentive service and a very cool, modern take on traditional decor, The Pho Spot is the only place I wanna eat Vietnamese food in New Jersey. Let's talk about apps first because they're the winners. You can't leave without trying the mini crepes. A somewhat sweet batter bowl holds shrimp and fresh greens; with the sweet vinegar on top, it's perfection. You can't go wrong with either the spring or summer rolls. Definitely get both. Now for the eponymous Pho - the broth is subtle, rich, and so filling. One bowl is good enough for two people for sure. I love all the available options, from the ubiquitous brisket, tendon, rare steak to the more exotic quail eggs. I also don't typically see so many veggie options, but really loved the idea of putting bok choy or mushrooms in my soup. Much love to the crew for catering to the Muslim and vegetarian communities in the area

Located in a shopping complex along with tjmaxx, ranch 99, sunmerry bakery, etc. This was a great new option to the complex. Upon being seated, the menu was easy to figure out. You were able to pick up to 3 options for your pho, from brisket and tripe to tofu and beef balls. Then you had a choice of soup, beef or vegetable. Then by default, you would receive all the normal add ins - bean sprouts, thai basil, hot peppers, scallions, etc and you could opt to remove the things you didn't want. The food came out really fast, barely a 5 minute wait which was great. The soup was very flavorful. Our only complaint was that it was a bit too salty. Other than that, everything was perfect.

It's located in the strip mall so there's plenty of parking. We could not find the spot until we drive around. This place is tucked in from other store fronts. Upon entering, we were greeted and taken to our seats. The menu is limited to pho only as entrees. There's only one size bowl for one price. You select the meat, toppings, and broth. Yes, it can be vegan friendly. You can ask for lime and jalapeños on the side. They also sell summer rolls. Our order came quick because the broth is already cooked and simmered. Overall, it is delicious. The broth is a hit and it warmed me up from the cold rainy day. I had the beef brisket (highly recommend because of the tender meat), shrimps and mushroom, beef broth and all toppings/garnishes included. We will definitely come back again. The pho is pricey comparing to other Vietnamese restaurants but it is worth it as long as the quality of food and service remains good.

Pho with beef brisket, rare beef, and quail eggs.

So are you are looking for Pho? This is the place you would go to because this is all they serve. Besides the summer rolls this is the main dish that they serve in the restaurant. You would choose between two broths beef or veggie. You can add up to three toppings that includes brisket, beef balls, quail eggs, tofu, rare steak, tripe, shrimp, mushroom, baby bok choy, and edamame. Also, one size and one price for all bowls. All pho comes with rice noodles, bean sprouts, Thai basil, onions, scallions, cilantro, and lime wedges. You can also ask not to add anything you don't want. On to the food review, for my first time here I chose the beef broth, with the brisket, rare steak, and quail eggs. The broth had a nice flavor to it, but it wasn't the best I've tasted. That title still belongs to a small Vietnamese restaurant in Orlando Florida. None the less, it was still good but my only gripe is that the bowl was very expensive. Around sixteen dollars a bowl, you can't eat this every week knowing you can it make it your self for half the price with more servings. I would say if you are in the area and in the mood for good pho then give this place a try. The restaurant decor is dressed up with some Vietnam decorations and the place seems modern. You can see the big pot of the pho broth in the kitchen area too. There is plenty of parking and this was tucked away in the corner next to the Korean fired chicken place.

I honestly did not know that there was a pho place in this plaza, but decided to come here due to never trying this pho place before and the few good reviews. I was not disappointed! My boyfriend and I stopped by on a weekday for lunch (we took off work that day), and the restaurant only had 1 or 2 tables seated. Service was prompt, and the restaurant interior was cute, "hip", and clean. I really liked the decor and interior. I was very surprised by the menu, being that it was a super simple print-out menu for you to build your own bowl, and that was the only thing on the menu aside from Vietnamese rice paper spring rolls (no fried spring rolls). However, it did make our lives much easier. I ordered one order of the shrimp spring rolls and my partner and I got the Pho Dac Biet with rare steak, brisket, and tripe (you can choose 3 meats), all vegetables, and a side of spicy peppers. I asked for extra cilantro, onions, and scallions and was happy for my request to be granted. The food was definitely fresh, and the broth was actually really good! The portions were decent, although there was not a lot of meat -- I didn't expect that much as other restaurants give around the same. Overall the noodles were yummy and they gave us a separate plate with the extra cilantros, onions, and scallions which elevated my noodle experience. I would definitely stop by again for a simple bowl of pho noodles after this trip. I think this would be a very cute place to meet up with friends or to come with a date. It would be the best option if your friends are all indecisive and cannot make a decision with a huge menu. If you're looking for a huge selection of Vietnamese food though, this might not be the place for you.

The billing correction was then handled in a confusing way. We were given two separate receipts: one showing the full amount with a 3% credit card fee added, and another showing the smoothie being deducted as a separate transaction. It wasn't immediately clear how the two receipts were meant to be read together, especially since one of the totals appeared higher than the original bill. To be clear, the 3% charge itself wasn't really the issue. The problem was that while correcting their own mistake, no one took a moment to explain what was happening or offer even a simple apology for the confusion - or for the missed order, for that matter. That was really the theme of the entire experience: forgetfulness, confusion, and a complete lack of acknowledgment. They seem to have a very robust delivery service with orders going out fast, so this would be a good takeout option as well. *Update - I thought seating was limited but turns out they have a whole second floor I haven't seen yet! I'll have to go back soon!

A casual dine in spot with ample amount of seating. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and we liked all of them. We got the stinky tofu (not as stinky as you would get in Taiwan but still good), Taiwanese fried chicken, oyster pancake, crispy fried intestine, beef noodle soup, & pork rice cake. Our favorites were the fried pork intestines (fried to perfection), oyster pancake, & beef noodle soup.

Turned out to be a great choice. Although not easy to find on the tail end of a nondescript commercial strip, we saw its sign and walked in to a decent sized dining room with a half dozen booths along one wall and about a dozen tables spread across the remainder. Plenty of original watercolors displayed and for sale on the walls. David the proprietor seemed to be handling most of the operation himself. He sat us, took our order, disappeared into the kitchen to participate in its preparation and served our four courses to us in traditional style - separately as ready. The food was excellent. We chose from both the lunch and regular menu, which were integrated seamlessly. Fried Pork Chop, Crispy Fried Intestine, Fish Fillets in Chili Sauce from the mains, and Orange Beef from the lunch list. I started with Hot &Sour Soup, which was flavorful and loaded with tofu, sprouts, pork slivers and potent vinegar. Loved it! The Pork Chop was deboned and pressed thin. The result was a crisp sliced Katsu-like cutlet with nice flavor and long crunchy chew. The Intestine was also crisp and filled with green beans that mixed well with the hardened shell and soft innards. Not my fave, but my lovely partner ate it enthusiastically. The Fish and Chili was very good, with tender lightly breaded white fish fillets and red chili sauce that included small pieces of celery, sprouts and cabbage, in a large bowl. Finally, the lunch sized Orange Beef was delicious with sweet and spicy amber sauce coating the pieces of lightly crisped beef. Ubiquitous broccoli sprigs added color to the dish. Service was friendly and accommodating. David was happy to interact and talk about his business there. Red Onion is a Five Star keeper.
