Calamari W dips.
Gary M.

April 8/2022: This was very mediocre. The service was painfully slow. Our server "Carmella" was a delightful young lady but certainly did NOT move with any sense of urgency. It's took 15-20 minutes before our initial contact with our server. After that our drinks took way too long. As for the food...spectacularly mediocre. The calamari was all but tasteless & very overcooked. The dips were just as tasteless. My main was a corned beef sandwich w salad. Sandwich serving was very small as was the rest of the meal. It tasted ok but it wasn't worth the 40+ minutes of wait time we had. I left still needing to eat something more. This place isn't good enough for a do-over.

Buddha Bowl, sauce, and dressing. Yum!

The location parking lot was busy and I did curbside pickup. Even though I am from out of town and couldn't find it, the lovely person who answered the phone helped me and brought the take out to me as I was double parked outside the restaurant. The Buddha Bowl is delicious!

The unappetizing fig and spices margarita

The rating is just for the server and Bartender. I ordered Fig and spicy margarita and it was so bad. I think they just added sugar syrup and ice and blended those. There was no alcohol and it was just kept getting worse with each sip. I think the server did not want us to be there, she made us feel like we don't know anything and kept asking us if we want anything or she gets us the bill... we were there to celebrate our anniversary and she ruined our day.

Wow, I could've sworn I've reviewed this pickle barrel location a couple years ago but I guess not? I also could've sworn it was a 4 or 5 star review and that I was coming back today, to demote them to 2 stars. BUT, I guess my one and only review will be a 2 star review. As other reviews have said, this location has really taken a downward spiral over the years. They used to be the go to spot and now I'm literally boycotting all pickle barrels. Don't get me wrong, I still love their spaghetti and meatballs. It's my go to dish here and I was just here a few days ago and it still tastes delicious. However, the service here has gotten so terrible. Why did we wait 15 minutes for a smoothie and 20 minutes for a side salad? I've had waaaay too many disappointments recently with pickle barrel, that I'm just done. Tell me how I'm STILL waiting, till this day to get a "text back" saying my table is ready from February of this year? My bf and I came for the early dine special and we were told we had to wait and they could send us a text when our table is ready. The restaurant was DEAD, so I asked, are you guys super busy or understaffed or something? Because I couldn't understand why there was a wait, given that there was no one in the restaurant. Long story short, they never texted me back and we didn't even bother going back to ask because the early dine special ends at 6 and we were there at like 5. Through the years I've been served raw chicken and had glass on my seat but STILL for some reason kept coming back. Well those days are done. My bf and I are officially done with pickle barrel. BYE

Went to Pickle Barrel with friends for the first time, and I had a very positive experience. First off, the place is very clean and the service was great. We had the option to either dine inside or outside the restaurant, and we chose to dine inside. We were seated and our drink orders were taken almost immediately. I had ordered the Cajun Spiked Chicken Taco, and considering the price I should have expected for a small portion size, however I was pretty surprised when I received my order. Regardless, the Taco itself was delicious and flavourful, and I enjoyed every bite of it. Next time, I would probably get something bigger now that I am aware of the sizes, and I'll definitely go back to eat there.

Mushroom swiss bliss plus daily soup

The service was quite lacking from what I expected. Don't get me wrong, the server was really nice, but he kept forgetting to check on the table. I probably saw him four times in the whole 2 hours I was there. Also had to ask for my water to be refilled twice before he remembered :( Food itself was alright, nothing extraordinary. I got the mushroom swiss bliss with the daily soup. I'm a sucker for mushrooms, so I liked my meal. Only thing is that the burger was quite dry. I would think that the sauteed onions and mushrooms would make the burger juicy but if it had some sort of sauce in it, that would've made it a good burger. As an appetizer I got sweet potato fries. Now, this was kind of a rip off... it was $7 but the plate was quite small. I definitely expected a slightly bigger portion, but at least it tasted good. Overall, I probably would choose to come here if it were my choice. There are a variety of pubs that I could choose from, and this isn't the greatest.

Super disappointed with my experience here. I've come to this place a couple of times and it's always super busy and understaffed. However, today was exceptionally bad. My family waited an hour and a half for appetizers, waiter forgot parts of our order, and some orders were wrong. We spoke to the manager about concerns and she did nothing to rectify our situation. Don't think illl be coming here anytime soon unless new management takes over.

Pretty decent spot for food. We were here for brunch on a Sunday, wasn't very busy. We were seated right away by our host. Our waitress Jancelle attended us pretty much right away. We ordered the 3 eggs and the PB big breakfast. We also had an americano macchiato and the special latte for drinks. Overall the food was truly delicious. My eggs were cooked exactly how I wanted, the latkes were so tasty and the bread was fresh and tasty. We had a variety of jams and PB, syrup, ketchup and hot sauce. The biscotti with the latte was also so tasty! Our service was also great, with Jancelle checking in on our regularly. We substituted the pancakes for French toast and omg those sticks were delicious!! I enjoyed my food, although I wish the place was a little bit more well maintained, felt like the booths were a little dusty. Nevertheless, enjoyed my brunch here and would love to come back for those French toast sticks!!!

Bacon and eggs breakfast.

Made a plan for a Sunday morning breakfast here. I love the ambience and decor of the place each time I step in. Barely any customers so got a preferred table right away. The pros: The regular bacon strips and multigrain bread. Delicious. Looked quite appetizing as well which is always nice. Fresh fruit! Even though they could've cut better. Fair price for the food. Great selection of options. The cons; The eggs, bleh. No option for anything inside the eggs, no veggies nothing. Just plain scrambled eggs ( done with a bunch of oil so it doesn't stick.. I could tell). The potato barrels were crap. Overdone, un appealing. My partner had eggs benidict,..it was like warm but tasty But the biggest con was the slow inattentive service. My coffee got cold waiting for the milk. One poor server running around trying to get everyone's order. Felt bad for him. Had that not been there I would've given 3 stars but poor service is one of my biggest pet peeves in a restaurant. Even getting the bill took 10 min. Overall might visit again, but not for breakfast at least. Cora's and Denny's still rule those two.

Blue cheese burger $12 approx - also comes with pickle and small coleslaw salad

Pickle Barrel is one of my favourite franchises, but this one at Bramalea really disappointed me. We went at 8pm (last call is at 8:45pm), which MAY have explained the bad food and service, but I don't think that should really be an excuse. SERVICE - Slow service, took a while for the waitress to come by and get our bill, take our order or check up on us. We didn't even have cutlery when our food came, and waited for someone to come by.. but no one did, so we had to just take cutlery from other empty tables instead. FOOD - Meh. Disappointing how it's worse than other Pickle Barrel's I've been to. + Blue Cheese Burger $12.99 - comes with fries, pickle, and a coleslaw salad. Fries were not that hot and felt like it was not that fresh (may have been because we went at 8pm..) Patty was kind of dry.. had to squeeze ketchup to make it more edible. I wouldn't get this again. + Cajun atlantic salmon penne $16.99 - comes with crostini (standard.. you can't really get this wrong), as well as soup or salad. The caesar salad was quite a big portion as a side salad, which was nice. Salmon penne was okay.. salmon was a tad dry. My friend also found a tiny piece of plastic in the penne.. she didn't bring it up to the waitress cause she didn't look pleased to serve us already (we should have mentioned it now that I think about it.. but oh well.) Sigh.

Pesto chicken linguini. It was better down town.

We were the only ones there at the time and I loved it - felt like a private lunch. Some heated patios still feel cold, but it was actually really warm here which I love. We had a great server as well who brought us free hot chocolate, the hot water we asked for as well as additional water without even asking! We both ordered their Mushroom Sirloin which is my go-to whenever I visit a Moxies and this was probably the best one I've had up to now. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and they were so generous with their mash potatoes and veggies portion!! I think this was probably double the portion of what I got when I visited another location. Overall, we had an amazing time here and will definitely visit this location again now that restrictions are lifted!

The steak was hard as rock even asking for it to be medium rare. The waitress and host also noticed that it was over cooked twice as I couldn't even cut the steak up wit the whole table shaking. The were nice and offered complimentary dessert and took the steak out of my bill however it left a really bad taste and not a good experience with the food.

I arrived around 7:00 PM for dinner and was able to get seated without a reservation, though it was clear that many guests had reservations as the restaurant quickly filled up. They offer a full bar with a great selection of beers, cocktails, and spirits. The dinner menu features an excellent variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. I started with the Chicken 65 appetizer and followed it with the Punjabi Goat Curry and Chili Garlic Naan. The Chicken 65 was absolutely phenomenal--wow, wow, and wow! The chicken was perfectly cooked and tossed with onions, garlic, and tomatoes that were blended and cooked down into a rich, flavorful sauce. Every bite was packed with bold spices and authentic flavors that made it one of the best versions of the dish I've had. The Punjabi Goat Curry was equally outstanding--tender, rich, and bursting with flavor. Paired with the Chili Garlic Naan, it made for a memorable meal. The portion sizes were very generous and could easily feed two people, making it an excellent value for the quality and quantity of food served. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and energetic. If you're looking for authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant. The Chicken 65 and Punjabi Goat Curry are must-try dishes. Thanks to Avreen for the recommendation--I'll definitely be coming back again!

Our start was the Cauliflower Bites ($12.00). They were heavily deep fried with a chipotle dip. The bites were very good & hot. The dip was tasty & hot but not too hot. The mains were the Butter Chicken ($21.00) & Tandoori Salmon ($28.00). The Butter Chicken was delicious & tasty. Little more chicken in the order would have been good but the sauce was fabo! Even though I'm not a salmon fan, the grilled salmon was delicious as well. This was all made possible by a chilli naan ($7.00). The wait staff were polite & very willing to serve. The ambiance showed as clean & well cared for. I did not use the washroom. This is a 100% do over!!
