Growing up, I had a Kelsey's in Thornhill within walking distance of my house. There were so many classics I loved and used to eat at so many different locations over the years. I soon started seeing a huge decline in quality & service and actually stopped going all together after the disastrous visits to their Markham Road location in Markham - which thankfully closed down because it was just horrible! Fast forward, to this year. It was our first visit back to a Kelsey's in just over 5 years. Our location of choice, this Kelsey's in Markham at Woodbine. It was my first time back to this location in almost 10 years. With plent of parking out front, it too no time to find a spot. Walked in with the fsm and we were seated within a few minutes near the bar. I love the cozy vibe here, music playing, tvs all around playing sports. Staff is very attentive and regularly checks in. Now let's get to the food! Fajitas - classic, love these, one of my fav places for fajitas - generous portion when not sharing, but they do have the option to double up your protein or add a second protein if you want to have chicken & steak. We ordered steak, the cut was seasoned well and cooked to the perfect temperature which left the meat very tender and easy to bite into. I def missed having these! 1/2 pan or Double pan Nachos - tortilla chips smothered with generous portions of three-cheese blend, queso, tomatoes, black beans, green onions, jalapeños, shredded lettuce, salsa, and sour cream. There is also the option to add beef chilli for an additional cost. This is a fam fav! Steak, Bacon & Swiss Sandwich - grilled sirloin, bacon and swiss cheese on a toasted Ciabatta bun with pesto mayo, tomato and peppercorn ranch sauce. Steak is super tender and seasoned so perfectly with a nice smoky flavour to the steak. The ciabatta bun is lightly toasted and has a nice outer crisp to it and soft on the inside. I have taken half a sandwich home many times and warmed it up in my small oven and the bread is so crispy, the best leftover sandwich! Build your own burger - double patty burger. Choose your bun, toppings and a side. I highly recommend their thick cut fries! The burgers are so juicy and never dry. Four Cheese Spinach Dip - served warm, with baked or fried pita chips. This is made in-house with a four-cheese blend, spinach, red peppers and onions. The fried pita chips are insanely good with this! Cheese & Bacon Potato Skins - Potato wedges topped with double smoked bacon, a three cheese blend and green onions. Classic potato skins, can't go wrong with this app! There are plenty of options for kids in their kids menu. Kids Hamburger, Mac & Cheese, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Cheese Pizza, Chicken Tenders, Build Your Own Pasta, Rotini Pasta with Grilled Chicken. I am genuinely surprised the reviews are so mixed. I am visiting from out of town and my friend took us here for some pub fare. I had the burger, with bacon and it was delicious. The meat was moist and well seasoned and the bun was the perfect balance of soft, tenderness while still holding the burger together. I also highly recommend the cheese dip with fried pita chips. We didn't get much attention from our server as she was too busy looking after many clients, however this Filipino lady was very welcoming and she came to us with bright smile each time. I hadn't been to this Kelseys location in years. I finally broke that streak last Thursday. Kelseys had chicken wings going for 50% off when you order through its app. This offer was available last Thursday only. I decided to take advantage of the offer. I love wings. I used to frequent this location often over a decade ago. My friend lived up the road on Woodbine Avenue. We'd spend time eating, drinking, and catching up. It wouldn't be unusual if we were here for at least two hours. Ordering on the app was straightforward. I placed a large order of wings (15). My favourite are the non-breaded salt and pepper ones. In the past, non-breaded was dubbed New York-style on the menu. Perhaps that term didn't catch on. Maybe New Yorkers were offended and there was a movement to have breaded everything?! The app let me know that it would take twenty minutes to prepare my order. Sweet! It was enough time for me to casually drive up and fetch my food. This Kelseys is located at the Woodside plaza on Highway 7, a block east of Woodbine. The name still throws me off. I think of Woodside Mall in Scarborough. Anyway, this eatery faces Highway 7. Unfortunately, all box stores next to the eatery have since folded (Michaels, Pier 1 Imports, Bouclair, and more). It's a bit sad to see, but the cheerful lighting outside this restaurant helped a bit. There was plenty of parking. I pulled into a spot and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a woman. I indicated that I had a mobile order. "Mary, right?" she said. "Yes!" I said, feeling a bit shocked and like a VIP. "It's right over here. Come on over!" My food was in a sturdy paper bag with my name in huge letters. It was sitting at the bar counter. I grabbed my food and thanked the woman. We chatted for a bit. She was so happy to be working again. York region recently went out of full lockdown mode, so we can dine in and shop, with some restrictions. I saw a few folks dining. It was nice to see things looking a bit closer to what we used to do before this pandemic. I wished this woman a great evening. She reciprocated. I happily headed to my car and drove home. When I got home, I had dinner. Man, I have missed these wings! They are just the way that I like them. Crispy. Juicy. Flavourful. Yummy. I got a few sticks of celery and carrots. I believe Kelseys tends to be stingy on veggies with wings. The veggies were fine. My wings also came with a bottled drink. I got a Diet Pepsi. It tasted as expected. I came to this Kelseys after a work event, and it was the perfect spot to meet. It has a great location, and free (ample) parking. This location is always busy, which is a good sign to me. Busy, however, I can always get a table. Servers that I've had here are always friendly and attentive! They do a good job hiring here from my experience. This most recent visit, I got the Salt n Vinny Fish & Chips, and let me tell you, these were maybe the best F&C that I've had at a non-fish & chips place. The fish was battered in salt & vinegar chips and it made for a delicious, layered, crispy experience. It was SO GOOD that my tummy is rumbling just recalling it! Kelsey's seems to have revamped their menu recently, and it was a welcome change to all of the chain restaurants I've been to lately, where it feels like the menus are identical. tl;dr if you're east-Asian, only come here if you want to be belittled. This waitress or a.k.a "supervisor/owner" of the restaurant was blatantly rude which in turn made us both want to leave the restaurant right after we placed our order. She has blonde highlights with hair past her shoulder, and she was wearing blue eye makeup. I've never been to a Kelsey's before, and I was very excited to try them out. As we entered, we were greeted by Rob and then this other waitress with her hair tied up to escort us. We sat down and proceeded to examine the menu. It was our first time here and I wanted to see what they had to offer as I take my food quite seriously. I ended up choosing the "build your burger" option. As I was going through the options, I had some questions on the difference types of ingredients as I did not want to gamble and choose something that I'll regret. This so said supervisor/owner gave me some karen-like attitude. She was insanely condescending saying "are you serious? You don't know the difference between 'American cheese' and 'swish cheese'??!?. This time around the gang headed to Kelsey's at Highway 7 & Woodbine for dinner. Kelsey's needs no introduction. Think Boston Pizza. Think sports bar. Think American food. Think drinks. This location had plenty of seating, good lighting, and an overall cool atmosphere; what you would expect from this chain. Our group of 12-15 came in after working out most of the day, so appetites were strong. We started things off with their flat pan nachos. A friend had previously told me that the dish was substantial in size, but I wasn't quite expecting the big boy serving that came to the table. Have a look at the photo, but for perspective, four of us split the platter, and we were more than satisfied as far as an appetizer goes. As for toppings, the three colour tortilla chips were covered with three cheeses, Roma tomatoes, onions, ground beef, beans, and we had salsa and sour cream on the side. (We requested the jalapeños on the side too, but no luck there.) The nachos weren't just sizeable, but they were plenty tasty as well. That being said, I would have preferred if the ground beef was a little more manageable so that it could be more easily dipped with the chips. We had to use a little elbow grease, and eventually a fork, to pry away that meaty delight. Hopes were high going into the main course, (considering the good experience we had had with the nachos), but the good times just can't last forever. The folks immediately surrounding me and myself all got burgers. I personally ordered the All-Day Breakfast. The sandwich comes with smoked bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, a hashbrown, and a sunny side up egg. If you're thinking, "those ingredients sound delicious!", you would not necessarily be wrong, but this burger sucked away that enthusiasm along with any moisture it may have had. I.e. it was very dry. Not even the sunny side up egg could rehydrate the meal, especially since it was a little too far done. The same sentiment goes for the rest of the group who got burgers. So where do I fall on Kelsey's? If you're going to relax and watch the game with a plate of satisfying nachos and some drinks, you've found your home. If you're looking to appreciate a first rate meal, at least as far as my group goes, you'll probably want to try your next dinner option. The chef here has a very different definition of rareness. I asked for black on blood (Chicago style) for my steak and it came out pretty white and stiff. Hubby ordered rare and they were the same level of whiteness abs stiffness, borderline beef jerky. Good steak seem to have been broiled right through. The acoustics are really bad in this restaurant. This Kelsey's is located at woodbine and highway 7 in the huge plaza near Moore's and Staples. A friend and I were hungry and in the area, so we decided to stop by here. I mean, who can go wrong with a chain restaurant like Kelsey's if you're extremely hungry? Lots of parking, as soon as you go in, you're greeted - they're pretty polite. The restaurant though, surprisingly is quite small. We got a booth. The décor is pretty general and normal, I love their framed hockey jerseys though - they're on point! The food is as good as any chain restaurant - the waitress came by to check on us several times and was very attentive. During the winter, the patio is closed but I've been here on a different occasion in the summer and the patio is beautiful in the fall and the summertime! If I could give this place a zero, I would. I'm not sure if I ordered a jar of ice and got lucky with a shot of sangria or a jar of sangria with extra ice without asking for it. When I was asked how my drink was, I told them politely that it's a bit too much ice. The server said she'd ask what she could do for me. Kelsey's has a new summer menu for lunch and dinner! The following review is based on our experience of their new menu. After a night out at the movies (at the new Markham Cineplex Centre) with my family, we decided to have a late night dinner at Kelsey's. We ordered: Spinach Dip: cheese, spinach, red pepper, and onion - served with deep-fried pita triangle chips. I've had really good spinach dips from Jack Astor's so I wasn't honestly expecting much from Kelsey's but I have to say that Kelsey's version of the dip is good - almost as good as Jack's. My whole family enjoyed it so I was pleased with this order. Popcorn Shrimp: We didn't like this one as much. It's basically shrimp lightly coated with a mild jalapeno seasoning and served with a Thai chili sauce. It was okay - the Thai chili sauce was mediocre - not as authentic and flavourful as could have been... and the shrimp was plain breaded shrimp. Not that special - in flavour nor in texture. A bit soft for my expectations. Regular (10 pieces) Wings: We chose Mild for the sauce flavour since we had a couple of people who don't do well with spice. Surprisingly, the wings here are delicious. We didn't think that Kelsey's would do particularly well with wings since this place isn't specifically a wings place but they do them well here. We'd definitely come again just for the wings. They have a Thursday special - half-off wings so maybe I'll pop by on an upcoming Thursday night. Funnel cake fries: Golden fried strips of funnel cake topped with cinammon sugar, served warm with French Vanilla ice cream and a choice of strawberry, peanut butter, chocolate, or English toffee caramel sauce. We picked the strawberry sauce. We found this dessert to be good but it doesn't beat funnel cakes from Canada's Wonderland. For texture, these funnel cake fries were good but not as crispy as I wanted them to be.. instead they were more soft and stiff. It was a decent dessert but I think I'll try something new next time. This is the best Kelsey's i have been to! After visiting two restaurants at Markville mall with no air(its been in the 40's here) we walked out of both and headed to Kelseys. Thank you to them for actually having air conditioning!!! The food was fantastic, fast and friendly waiters. Wow there fries are to die for! read more

I haven't been to Kelsey's in a really long time. Their food used to be mediocre. My sister suggested coming here after a weeklong trip in HK and eating Chinese food. She craved a big burger. I won't lie, I was a little skeptical but decided what the heck. My sister is pretty trustworthy in her food choices. And so, we ordered a bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel bun each. It was pretty damn good! Two beef patties with bacon and peameal bacon, cheese and all the toppings. The buns were really soft and nice, and the burger tasted awesome. Came with fries, but also had a choice to switch to a salad. The service was great too, the hostess was really friendly. I would come back to grab a burger. read more

This kelseys has been at this location for years... haven't been in a very long time but my girlfriend wanted to eat something closeby and not Chinese food.. Lol... choices were very limited..So we jus stopped by here. We happened to find out upon arrival that it was wings night.. so mite as well... I guess Kelseys is really goin down the drain in terms of quality... server wasn't smart enough to bring us all water when we asked for 1 glass but there is only a party of 3 people... how can you not bring 2 more glasses? we ordered wings, appetizers, salad and one main course. Wings were super dry to a point i felt like i was chewing rubber... that is bad... wonder if it is because its half price? salad was overdone with Caesar sauce... way too creamy... not enough croutons.. Potato skins arghh...when I'm charged like $10 for potato skin I expect it to be ok.. not without any ingredients on the first and last piece. Sighs.. Seafood pasta.. linguine was overcooked...to a point it was close to disintegrate. Into chicken noodle soup. Al dente is on the package for goodness sake. Follow the instructions.... gosh... Server forgot our order... we had to remind him.. feel sorry for kelseys that they are so not up to par with the competition.... and it's not cheap... read more
