If you find yourself on campus and looking for a more kid friendly area (aka slides and splash pads) I would recommend a walk on down to the park! It has a large bank of tennis courts (with evening play available due to the lights!). It also has a pool! Many times when I've been here there is some kind of swimming competition occurring in the pool. Last time I stopped by they had some new fitness play equipment for adults. I have an interest in unique playground equipment so I thought this was pretty cool considering the retirement facility located right on the edge of the park. You can grab picnic supplies at the nearby Safeway or takeout from the nearby Thai restaurant and enjoy the beautiful summer weather in Spokane. I frequently see people picnicking here. One really important part of Mission Park that I must mention is the memorial to Otto Zehm. He was a mentally-ill man killed by the Spokane police in 2006. The simple memorial was placed in 2012 as part of a settlement with the city of Spokane. As a community it is important to remember the legacy of Otto Zehm and I think a visit to this memorial is an important visit for any local or tourist.

It cost me about 50 bucks for two kids and two hours on a Saturday. I made my kids stay the two hours because it cost so much. Tip, I think fifth graders are a tad too old for this place. I would say it's better for nine or younger. Another tip, unlike the last kids play place at the valley mall, you can't drop your kids off, regardless of age. So if your plan is to drop them off so you can walk the mall, that's not the case. (I'm not complaining, just warning) Overall, we had a good experience and it was nice the kids had a place to run around. Also, maybe this is unsafe, but I love that the staff didn't bark at them to quit running like they do in some indoor play places.

Don't expect the equivalent of a "lifeguard" or other such staff to supervise your child. But if you're even half a parent, you'll be watching your child anyway. The party package pricing is comparable to similar venues such as Flying Squirrel, etc. (which means not cheap - but you'll pay similar anywhere) The reason for only 2 stars is lack of organization and poor communication. When we arrived for my granddaughter's party, were told we had 2 hours (which we knew) but they added, "no worries on time, kids usually are worn out and ready to leave in hour and a half" After that, it was all on us to organize the time (how long to play, how long to eat, how long to play more before cake/gift opening, etc etc) We were halfway through last part (gift opening) when suddenly I was told "you have 5 minutes to get out or you'll charged a late fee" WT actual Hell??? Where was THAT speech as we were checking in? We had to grab and dash and finish the party in the freaking food court! I did Flying Squirrel last year and that place was MUCH more organized. They assign you a concierge who guides you through how long you have for each segment of the party. We play was a fun experience up until that whole bum's rush bit at the end. If they're going to watch the clock on you they should tell you that up front (and give guidance to ensure no one party segment runs too long so upset the ones that follow) I Will not be using them again

A good sized parking lot is located off Tekoa for easy access. There's plenty of open space for picnics if you bring a blanket and one picnic table available with a few trash cans. It was pretty crowded on the day that we visited and park was clean and well maintained.

This part of Manito Park is sometimes referred to as Upper Manito. It has the splash pad area. Often people end up at the duck pond playground looking for this part of the park. When I come to this area of the park I generally drive here because Manito Park is quite large. It isnt really a straight shot to get to this wing of the park from the duck pond area. It is on 25th and Tekoa. There are two banks of swings and two play structures. One of the structures is smaller and suitable for toddlers. The larger structure has some fun climbing options for older kids (but not the huge climbing options of lower Manito). This playground can be busy but I have always found people to be really nice and friendly. They encourage their kids to share toys and be kind.

The play structures are great for bigger kids and toddlers and the swings have big kid and baby seats. Huge grassy park area and a little wooded area fun for outdoor scavenger hunts with little kids! The entire park has a walking path that goes around it that's good for dogs and kids with bikes. Plenty of parking available around the park makes it easily accessible! Summer can get crowded with what appear to be camp programs. Overall highly recommend!
