The food was what you would expect as bar food. Not fine dining but definitely tasted good and got the job done, plus we didn't go in there expecting fine dining we went in and got exactly what we had planned on getting so I feel it was very fitting. The only thing I would say is for the fries, is if we would have had the malt vinegar and ketchup brought out. Everyone was enjoy their time and we met lots of nice people. The servers were kind and brought us some water out for the pup. The pup enjoyed himself and meeting everybody. He even made himself comfortable to take a photo and promote. Great Wings and More…read more Mad Flavorz is hard to describe. First and foremost, it's a wing shop - a very good wing shop. The wings are big, chunky, meaty, tender and smothered in a variety of unusual (and unusually tasty) Flavorz. I highly recommend the bone-in Mad Flavorz Bourbon Wings - a lot of flavor with a balance of sweet, heat and tang. I'm running out of adjectives, so I will simply say that these are some of the best Wings I ever ate. As the name would imply, it's also a Lounge with a full service bar, relaxed atmosphere super friendly service and extensive list of beers. It doesn't get much better than a pile of world-class wings and an ice cold Red Stripe. We were impressed with the diversity of the menu - everything from Burgers and Hoagies to Salads and Seafood. The Coconut Shrimp was institutional but delicious. The Specialty Sides are as good as the Wings.. The French Toast & Chicken Tenders Plate was a mixed bag. The Toast was disappointing (not restaurant quality), but the three good-sized Chicken Tenders were nicely done - crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Fish Whopper Sandwich lived up to its name. The very large filet was golden brown, crispy and served on a fresh soft bun. Add a side of perfectly fried Okra and you have a satisfying meal. The Jamaican Beef Patty - much like an oversized empanada - had a nice crispy shell filled with flavorful minced beef. It was extra tasty with a little of the Cajun Jamaican Jerk Sauce. My biggest issue with Mad Flavorz is that they are often out of several menu items and beers (Lobster Pops, Banana Pudding, Cheesecake, Red Stripe, Modello to mention a few). I hope this is a temporary situation. Having said that, I still very much enjoy eating at this somewhat quirky eatery.

If I knew the little cup of dressing was a dollar, I would not have taken it. Then there's the now ubiquitous 3% charge to use a credit card. I totally get that the card companies charge the fee and this is painted as 'transparency', but it just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe restauranteurs and other establishments that add the card fee could look at the sales with and without credit cards and just raise the menu prices by that percentage so it's not in people's faces. There's enough 'extra charges' in my life and it would be great to see one disappear.

I would not recommend the mashed potatoes, but the burger was delicious. The sweet potato fries, another had as a side, looked good, as did a salad. Service seemed good at first with the drink and food orders. But once the food was brought out, I don't think we saw the waitress again until it was time for the checks. A bill with a credit card for another guest at a different table was even brought out with the processed checks. So make sure you get the correct credit card back.

Nice presentation and clearly, whoever prepared it is truly passionate about their job. The portions are large, so expect leftovers. We ordered a fried shrimp appetizer (similar to bang bang shrimp) and a chicken quesadilla as starters. Each could have been a meal on its own and both were delicious. (It's typical bar food - but done well.) For our main dishes we ordered Shepherds Pie (server's recommendation and favorite menu item ), Northern Fish Fry (cod); and a simple cheeseburger with bacon.. everything was tasty, nicely prepared, and again...large portions. The Shepherds Pie came with fresh steamed veggies that were wonderful and a nice surprise. *Note that cod is the Northern Fish Fry- but they also offer a catfish version. The wine was 50% off both by the glass and bottle, I believe that is their typical Saturday drink special. They have a prime rib special on Saturdays as well that is supposedly delicious, and served only until they run out. There is an 8oz or 12oz option. The server was fantastic as well. She was very attentive, knew the menu, and clearly enjoys her job. What more can you ask for? Prices: Our total bill (before tip) was $127 which included a couple drinks from the bar for each of us. The dinners we ate ranged from $16-$20. The starters were a bit pricey (~$18 for the quesadillas) but again, it was meal size and truly delicious. If you are hungry for a burger or typical Irish bar food, then give this place a try. Hopefully you'll have an experience similar to ours!
