Where else can you get good pie and coffee in a 1920ish settlers cabin. Maybe some Green Chile Stew if lucky.

We enjoyed talking the owner and the servers But the capstone was the pie. Breakfast is the perfect time to have a piece of pie with ice cream. We had the apple pie and most apple pie is disappointing. This was seasoned just right and the crust was perfect (hard to get good crust in a pie). We even took a whole pie with us. If I lived nearby I would be 300 lbs, as this is huge win. I had wanted to come to this place for some time, so arranged our travel this year and I'm so glad we did. Don't miss stopping here. A true American cafe experience

We came to pie town to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday because he loves pie. We stopped at Pie O Neer and immediately felt unwelcome so we left (you can read my review on their yelp). Went there first only because I knew it was open late on Sunday. A short drive down the road was The Gatherin Place and we saw their hours- we got there maybe 20 minutes before closing but they were warm, welcomed us in and fed us. Food was pretty alright, pies were limited but I imagine that was because they were about to close. Pulled pork was great, simple. Fries were kind of hard. The green chile wasn't hot at all. But we got some pie to go since they kept eyeballing us- I assume because they were closing or because we are city folk and thusly ones to gawk at. But we got way better vibes here than Pie O Neer (good lord that place is horrendous- I wouldn't recommend.) But at least 1 restaurant out of the 2 in pie town filled our bellies after a long drive and were welcoming, funny even! Their pies were tasty- crust is lovely and the tartness of the cherries is nice. Apple/green chile with pinions was a winner. Thanks Gatherin Place!

So, we had seen this place on the map many times while driving to New Mexico, and I've always said…read more"oh we should go have pie in Pie Town." We finally did! First of all, this place is pretty much the town. I'm not sure of the history - - which came first the cafe or the town, but there's not much more to it than this place. My son looked up the population of the town and it's under 200. This place is absolutely adorable. There's a big front porch with tables, and there were people sitting at the tables when we arrived. Inside there is a lot of Americana decor and antiques. We just stopped for pie, and ordered an apple pie, a peach pie, and a custard pie. They were all absolutely amazing - - the crust is to die for! I wish we hadn't already eaten because they also have quiche and pot pie and lots of other things on the menu that sounded delicious. If you find yourself you're not very remote area, you have to stop and get a piece of pie, if not an entire lunch. You won't be sorry!

Waitress came to our table to tell us we needed to order up front then proceeded to take another tables order at their table side and ignored us at the front. No menu in sight. We saw 4 sad pies in a rack. In all of pie town there are two restaurants, I would steer clear of this one. Happy to take our money elsewhere.

I get desperate sometimes for food from home. They were amazing. Just stopped off for some more while in NM. Still excellent. What makes them perfect is she uses enough anise, many people don't. Texture and taste are perfect. Wish I had her recipe since she does a better cookie than any of my relatives. Owner is also really flexible, went out of her way to meet me after hours and sell me what few cookies she had left. We ate them slowly, with happy noises.

I had to mail some things from the Post Office and there it was! They just opened for the day. She had a display of the days offerings. Not as big as the ones in Albuquerque, but very tasty and great looking. The day's offering were: Blue Berry Cheesecake, Fruity Pebbles, and a Chocolate Covered Marshmallow, this one looked heavenly. Cupcakes were $2.50 each or 6 for $12. I forgot to note the dozen price. We got 6 to go. There is a place to sit and enjoy your treat. My daughter said that would be perfect for her and her friends to come, sit and enjoy. This place is a little hidden, at least to me. If I had not parked where I did for the Post Office we would not have spotted it. While there we checked out her custom order cakes. Very creative! My daughter likes to have a place to get just one cupcake, you know for after those finals!
