But we got some pie to go since they kept eyeballing us- I assume because they were closing or because we are city folk and thusly ones to gawk at. But we got way better vibes here than Pie O Neer (good lord that place is horrendous- I wouldn't recommend.) Inside there is a lot of Americana decor and antiques. We just stopped for pie, and ordered an apple pie, a peach pie, and a custard pie. They were all absolutely amazing - - the crust is to die for! I wish we hadn't already eaten because they also have quiche and pot pie and lots of other things on the menu that sounded delicious. I get desperate sometimes for food from home. They were amazing. Just stopped off for some more while in NM. Still excellent. What makes them perfect is she uses enough anise, many people don't. Owner is also really flexible, went out of her way to meet me after hours and sell me what few cookies she had left. We ate them slowly, with happy noises.

Batter Than You…read more Pop-up bakery that operates out of a commercial kitchen and shows up at local festivals and events. I bumped into them at the Festival of the Cranes Art & Crafts Fair. They had Biscochitos & Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies, as well as a slew of chili-based sauces for sale. I bought a pack of oatmeal cookies (I got Biscochitos from a different vendor), and they were crispy and delicious. The only drawback was that they were cash only and didn't accept any forms of electronic payment, which is a mistake, in my opinion, but what do I know? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wish I could've bought some of their sauces to take home, but we're not checking any bags, so #NextTimeGadget.
