I love shopping in this store to find cute clothes, but the prices are definitely a little high to ask for especially since it's a "consignment store," prices should be more reasonable. I've also sold here multiple times and I'm often surprised by how few items are accepted, even when they're in excellent condition and on-trend. I understand that inventory and demand affect buying decisions, but it would be helpful if staff explained what they're currently looking for so sellers have clearer expectations. The process can feel inconsistent, especially when bringing in similar items at different times. I'd appreciate more transparency about what brands or styles they're prioritizing. read more

Very disappointIng experience. I will never go back. Much better consignment stores in Atlanta that will offer much better prices to people for their items. Store is run by a handful of teenage girls. I have yet to see an older adult working in the store. The young girls are very hard working and professional. TREATED HORRIBLY!! Very disappointing visit today after spending 100's of dollars in the store. My daughter (a nurse) found cute nursing socks and I was going to buy them for her along with several other items. When we got to check out we were told the tag on them was incorrect and it was a brand that they don't sell so someone must have "dropped them" during drop off. I expressed I'd still like to purchase if possible. That did not explain why there was a tag on it and they insinuated that we put the tag on it. I asked to speak to the manager and after a long wait, she came out and told me that it was not a product they sold but were willing to sell them to me ( at a higher price than was ticketed.) Mind you, tag said $2.99, and they offered to sell them to me for $3.99. Money is not an issue, but the fact they were trying to charge me more so they "win the argument" was insulting. They told me this was at the discretion of the owner. I asked when the owner was in and they told me she never was really there. I asked for her name and contact and they refused to provide it. Again if they tag said $3.99 I would not have even hesitated buying them but the fact that they were being that manipulative AND THEY ACCUSED US OF PUTTING A TAG ON IT OURSELVES was beyond unacceptable. HORRIBLE customer service. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. AND they were NURSE socks! Come on now!! read more

Eh. My kids like the selection. Customer service lacks. They wouldn't let me (mom) share a dressing room with my daughter. Yet they have allowed 3 teen girls in one room while I sit and wait on my girls to finish. I've seen a teen boy and girl come Out of the same dressing room. Yet I couldn't be in the same room with my daughter? Hmm... The teens they have working here aren't paying a ton of attention to anything but hanging clothes on hangers. read more

I've been a customer of their sister store for many years. Now that my son is older and moved into young adult sizes, I find Uptown being my go to place. I can get him anything from jeans to athletic wear without paying full price. They have email coupons and text coupons and all types of promotions. I even got a discount for my birthday month because I gave my email and became an "Uptown Insider!" I shop for myself with the new product because it's a fraction of Altar'd State and Dress Up boutique with very similar styles. All in all I think they are doing a great job and keeping my business for a long time. read more

Unorganized and over-priced. Most items were from Old Navy, Target and stores like Papaya or Charlotte Russe. There is nothing wrong w/those brands, but those stores are pretty inexpensive when clothes are brand new and this place is charging almost as much for these same items in very used condition! I'm not buying a used Old Navy T-shirt for 9.99 when it most likely cost that much brand new (if not cheaper). This store is very comparable to a Goodwill and I agree w/another reviewer that you may as well go there; you will get much better deals on the same type of items. Also agree that the sales associates could have been much friendlier and "stared" less at people and helped more. I feel like the other reviewers must be used to shopping at Goodwill. This is a different kind of store--upscale consignment. Comparable to Style in Cumming but for younger clientele (teens to early 40s instead of mid-30s and up). I'm not sure about the lack of large sizes, since I'm small. Nice clothes for a pretty good price. Also reminiscent of Alexis Suitcase. If you're looking for clothes at $5, then hit Goodwill. This is my new favorite boutique consignment in Cumming. read more

ARE YOUR CRAZY? I came here looking for "props" so I needed something that was old and worn. I think many of the items here are actually gently worn. They had a large selection of items ranging from tons of jeans, tops, sweaters, shoes and accessories. I went over to the "new" items and noticed that the price tag was outrageous for the item. We are talking about cheaply made garments made of synthetic fabrics, they have already lost their shape. One was $30 and the other was $35. You can definitely find better quality for a better price at other stores. So, after seeing his ridiculousness, I decided that I did not need to see any more and left the store. As far as I am concerned, this store is not really worth the trip. If you really need to buy second-hand items, I think that you will be better off going to the Goodwill store just down the street. I brought this to the managers attention and they tore the 9.98 brand new store tag off and kept their price of $13.99. Their prices are too high on everything! I've been to this location many times and am always impressed. The employees are always helpful and polite and the store is clean and well organized. Every time I visit I always find the clothing items on my list plus some! Great shopping experience! Amazing how much money you will save shopping here instead of department stores. I'm so upset. I went to this uptown cheapskate yesterday trying to trade in some clothes. It was extremely busy and I understand having to wait but they did not inform me it would take 5 hours. I stood around waiting in the store and I eventually left after about 45 mins. I came about 2 hours later only for them to tell me since I had left the store it would take them 3 more hours. I wouldn't mind waiting I just wish they would've told me it would take that long so I could just leave and come back. So I told them after that I would have to come back tomorrow. So here I am today, I come back and get the money and I ask for my clothes back. I filled out the form stating I didn't want to donate and they still donated. It was not in the 24 hour window either. I dropped off at 3:30 yesterday and came back at 1 today. I am just so upset none of the staff told me any of this. They just gave everything away. read more

Horrible experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I spring cleaned my closet and was going to donate a lot of clothes to Goodwill. Someone told me about this store, so I reorganized all of my clothes into what was in a good condition and folded them carefully and gently so I could sell them to this place. I went there today and decided to take a look first. Most things were very overpriced, being that they were from brands like Papaya and Rue21, which I love, but you can get new clothes there for the same price as Uptown Cheapskate was selling it for. Well, as I went back to my car to pick up my clothes, the detector went off on me, so an employee came up to me asked me if I had taken anything (basically, shoplifted). I said no, because the same thing had happened when I first entered the store. As I came back into the store with FOUR LARGE BAGS of clothes, no one helped me or even acknowledge me for a few minutes. Then, she had me fill out some forms and said it was going to take about 30 - 40 minutes for them to evaluate my clothes, which I was OKAY WITH, but she amended, saying they might not finish in time because the store was closing in 1 hr and a half. Like, you won't finish in that amount of time? Up until this point, I was STILL VERY UNDERSTANDING, as I work with customers and I know how upsetting it can be. So I decided to wait around and picked up a few clothes that I'd liked. After around 30 minutes, they called my name at the counter and that's when things went sour. She said they were going to pick up any of my clothes because they were "over 2 years and out of style". EXCUSE ME? I'm 23, not 83! I might not be a fashionista blogger, but I know damn well pairs of jeans from Levi's (not high-waist or anything, just basic!), a black jacket and a trench coat are ALWAYS stylish no matter how many years pass (and that's among other things!). Plus, how can she know I've had the clothes for 2 years? It's not even true, there were some almost new clothes in there, some of which I'd never even worn or wore just once. They were spotless and clean. With no apology whatsoever for the less than polite attitude, I was very humiliated. From now on I'm only going to donate, which is what I was going to do in the first place. At least Goodwill doesn't reject my clothes. I was thinking of leaving this place with a smile and being able to tell everyone about it. Now, I'll make sure to tell them never to set foot there. I wasted my gas and time for nothing. I didn't expect to get a lot of money for the clothes, but if they won't even accept them, I'd rather not go through the experience of being humiliated again. read more

In this specific uptown location, I felt i was discriminated. The fact that all of the teenage employees took items from other caucasian buyers and gave them $20, $30 and even $50 yet when they looked through my stuff, it took no longer then 5 minutes and nothing was bought. I had well kept iphone X cases, a michael kors wallet, a victoria secret makeup bag and several champion clothing but when they "finished" looking through my things the employee had the nerve to say I can leave the items they did not take, with them. That was ridiculous. Also I witnessed several looks that the employees were making toward an African american woman who was shopping close by. Never stepping foot into this store again until the employees are changed or taught. read more

Was excited about the store opening, but sadly disappointed after I saw the prices. MUCH higher than Plato's and even higher than the UC in Johns Creek. The staff (who consists of teenagers) are distracted, unhelpful and a taste snobbish. I walked around for almost a hour without one person greeting me or asking if I was 'ok', or needed anything.
