The Pilates Center of Ft Worth on Camp Bowie is my happy place! From the first day, Heather, the owner called me by name and does so each time I go to class. All the trainers there make a point of calling us by name. The classes are different each time and those of us who attend always feel comfortable with whatever circumstance we are in at the time--never feeling embarrassed or self-conscious. Everyone so friendly and encouraging. Jacqueline and Aimee teach the classes I attend twice a week. I love how they each pay close attention to every person in the class, telling us how to position ourselves for the most benefit of every move. After even the very first class I started noticing improvement in my flexibility, strength and posture. And after attending for only a 3-4 weeks, I started noticing a lot of muscle tone forming. I had not worked out for many years, yet this was SO immediately effective and gratifying. And it feels good, too! Testimonial First of all I have done about every type of exercise known from Tae kwon Do, to yoga. from basketball, volleyball softball track, running, jump roping, dance, soccer calisthenics, step aerobics etc. I started doing Pilates because it was intriguing and I like reading abut the benefits of this for exercise and I needed this to help get me in line and keep me in line most of all. I appreciate the alignment basis of Pilates,learning how to breathe properly , core strengthening, and all over lengthening of my body. I used to go to Beth and I loved her keen sense of humor and the way she cued you to do the different moves. I now go to Heather and she has challenged me many of tes with new and harder Pilates core moves. All I can say is I love love love Pilates and tell everyone I know abut the benefits and there isn't anything else out there that affects our body as Much as Pilates does. read more

I am new to Pilates and I've been attending classes since the fall of 2013. I started with duets to ensure proper form then the group equipment classes. After back surgery, I was looking to strengthen my core and back muscles. With the attentive and knowledgable instructors, Pilates has far exceeded my expectations. My posture, core and overall muscle tone in my legs and arms are vastly improved. The stretching is an added bonus in my opinion and I am more flexible now than I have been ever. I walk and bike ride and garden, but really needed to build up strength and flexibility. Some gyms I had tried before were not informed about what types of exercise someone in their 60's is capable of and they were not great with adapting things to what I could do. Travis and the other trainers are so different. They encourage you to do your best, but are ready to adapt different exercises to your level. We go 2 to 3x a week and I can't believe the difference. You are never left on your own, someone is always there helping you and making sure you are not doing an exercise safely. Luis and Becky are so helpful. Here is another thing I really like. The circuit class is almost all day. You go when you can, you are never late to class, and you come when you can and warm up, then do the circuit for that day. It is different and challenging. Travis has adapted exercises for my husband too. His work with MS helps him with understanding any conditions or injuries. Yolanda's yoga class is also really great. She helps us stay strong and flexible. The friendly encouragement and fun from all the folks at the gym helps the workout go fast.
