For $13 you get a meat and two sides. I went with the brisket, habanero corn, and mac and cheese. The corn was great. I didn't really taste much habanero, but it was still really good. The mac and cheese was also great. Same with the brisket. The sides were massive. I easily made two meals out of my $13 order. I do wish they had more types of BBQ sauce, especially a spicy one. I'm spoiled by BBQ restaurants with Carolina style, sweet, heat, and more. They could also use a soda fountain, but they do give free water bottles which is a nice gesture. Rexburg has a surprisingly growing food scene and I'll try and stop by again in the future. read more

I booked Pit BBQ for a picnic following my husband's memorial service in Idaho Falls. Delivery was over an hour late with no contact. I finally got hold of the office and they explained that they were short-staffed and were on their way. In all that time, I never got a phone call, email or text to keep me informed. It was more than frustrating. The food was good, but no bread/buns came with the meat. Kinda hard to make sandwiches without that. Contact and communication was definitely a problem throughout the ordering and delivery. Had I been contacted that delivery was running late, I could have arranged to pick up the food. I came back for more! This place just doesn't disappoint. Got ribs, brisket, burnt ends and tacos (they're the bomb). And some queso! All of it is delicious! I got so much good stuff, I couldn't eat it all. I finished it for dinner later that night. This is a small place. You might miss it driving by. This place smells like great bbq when you walk in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered pork, brisket, brisket taco and both of their sides; chips and salsa & coleslaw. The sides were good. The salsa was simple consisting of fresh tomatoes, cilantro and fresh lime juice. It was very refreshing and had a great bright flavor. The coleslaw was good without being overpowering. I especially liked the chop and crunch from the cabbage. The meat was cooked to a very juicy finish. It was exactly how I would want it. The only thing I was missing was more smoke flavor in the meat. This was redeemed by the fantastic flavor from the house made mustard based bbq sauce. Some of the best mustard sauce I've ever had. They were to cater a wedding for my niece. Showed up almost two hours late, food was cold , taste was marginal. According to some comments by the two people who finally delivered the food, seems they had double booked and put this one off. Owner said over the phone when (they finally answered) that even though it was paid for and booked months in advance before meat prices had gone up, we should be " thankful" we even got what we did. I understand and can sympathize with the current state of employment in the food industry because of Covid. However, this was likely not the cause of such poor service. Took my Granddaughter today and had the 3 Taco/2 side plate, $12. The tacos were fabulous and huge sides. One of the sides was combined because we both wanted chips and queso. The chips were piled on a food tray with two sides of Queso. Very good! The Food was great! The service was great too! Go and enjoy for yourself. read more

My wife and I got the 2 meat combo with burnt ends and brisket with sides of Mac and cheese and chips and queso. Service was good, however the meats were bland and so was the Mac and cheese. Catering service for my friend's wedding was awful. They were two hours late to serve 300 people and didn't communicate the entire time. They have since not answered phone calls and messages left by the bride and have made no attemp to right the situation. Very disappointing. I will give one star because the food was good. read more

First red flag, you couldn't smell the smokiness from outside of the building, if you're going to an establishment that specializes in BBQ you would expect to smell them smoking the meat from the outside. The food was okay. But 85% of it was cold. We asked for it to be warm and they brought out a new taco but not new meat. We waited for a long time, well over 30 minutes and they even told us that some of our food sat there ready as they served the tables before us. It was quite frustrating. I tried almost everything on the menu: brisket, burnt ends, ribs, slaw, tacos, and nachos. The brisket is so tasty and perfectly cooked that I wish I could eat it every day. For me, it was the perfect amount of smokiness and seasoning. When they said they cook the brisket 10 hours, I knew it was a labor of love. Went there to try their ribs because I heard they were good. Maybe they are. They were out of them, so I still don't know. Instead we tried the brisket and the burnt ends. They were okay. The coleslaw was okay. The brisket elote side was good. It's a corn dish similar to Mexican street corn with some brisket added. read more
