They never have your food ready when they say they will. This time when I went they let me know I'd put my order in five minutes before when I had a timestamp of 35 minutes before that. Which means they just forgot to put it in and did not want to tell the truth. No apology, no hurry. Just let me look like I didn't know what I was talking about.They are so laid-back and they just can't figure it out. Every time we call in a pizza order we are put on hold for a good 5 to 10 minutes. I think I'm done at this point. I have really wanted to eat here and support local. They just can't figure out how to manage an actual business. As I was leaving they told the guy next to me they didn't have an order for him as he'd been waiting 10 minutes. Ridiculous. Still the best!!! Pizza Joint makes pizza that puts any national chain to shame, and best of all, it's local!!! I used to live really close to their Mesa location and would frequent a few times a month, and even when I moved further west near Franklin High, would still hit up the Mesa location when I wanted some good carry out. Imagine my elation when I saw that signature "Pizza Joint" sign go up in the old Andre's Pizza location. Having gone when they first opened, it was absolute chaos. They were slammed and I don't think they were prepared for the overwhelming response they were going to get. I knew I would have to wait before publishing a review to when things calmed down and they hit their stride. I'm glad I did. My most recent visit was fantastic even with a solid crowd present. The pizza has a slightly sweet crust that has a nice crunch even though it's hand tossed. Personal favorite pies are the Jimmy Pesto and the Fungi. They also sell pizza by the slice in a wide variety. If you've never been, imagine big ol slices of pizza you see in the movies from New York that you have to fold in half. It's an amazing treat. Lastly, I love that they pay their respect to the location and the previous tenant Andre's, by still offering the Greek Salad with Andre's dressing, and I think they also will be selling the great subs Andre's used to serve. The interior is a complete overhaul and is brilliantly done in psychedelic Pizza Joint styling. This is my kids and my favorites pizza place in El Paso, yes they are pricy but the pizza is large and delicious! The thin crust is how i like it, not a cracker crust how some thin crusts are but soft with tasty sauce and plenty of cheese. This is one of the few pizza places I like the Italian sausage. I really love this place! I went for the first time back in 2011-Ish to the location on Mesa. I remember it being ok so I decided to try the Westwind location and it was sooo good to me. I hate thick pizza so this place really hit the spot for me. Their slices are thin and delicious. I will definitely be eating here more often. Went there for my kids fundraiser night, and the first thing you notice, is that the prices are sky high. My kids being picky eaters, we ordered the Pepperon-E pizza. $23 for a large one, yikes, oh well, we are helping the school after all. We sat down, and waited for our order. They were very fast in delivering. We were told to be careful, as the pizza was very hot, and they ran out of spatulas. (?). The pizza was OK, the crust was actually tasty, but the amount of pepperoni in the pizza was rather small. The sauce and cheese were OK. Maybe the other types of pizza were better, but if you cannot make a great pepperoni pizza for $23, I don't want to find out that the fancier ones taste like for about the same money. I ordered a pizza for my daughter. I was told 15 minutes. I arrived and was told 10 more minutes. They burned my pizza. I couldn't believe it. We had the most awful experience last Saturday and it was such a shame because we love the Pizza Joint. We arrived around 5:15 and ordered two pizzas and a salad to enjoy while we waited. The restaurant wasn't crowded, so we grabbed our drinks and tried to find a clean table in the mostly open restaurant. We noticed other patrons complaining that their orders were taking much longer than expected and hoped that wouldn't be the case for us. After about 30 minutes of waiting for our salad, I went to the front to ask if it was ready and there wasn't an employee to be found - there was one on the phone informing a take out customer that their order would be ready in 30 minutes. After waiting another 30 minutes (it was now 6:20) we asked if our pizzas and salad were ready and we were informed that our pizzas had just come out of the oven. After about 10 more minutes the pizzas were brought to our table (badly burnt) and we were further informed that they just began to make our salad. We asked for a refund on the salad as we wanted to enjoy it as an appetizer, and had to pick around the mostly burned pizza crust. This was such a disappointment as the pizza joint has consistently been one our favorite spots. Hopefully they get some better managers - I would hate to see this location go under. Unfortunately, we will probably be making a trip to another location next time so we don't have to deal with these employees again. read more

Struggling to start. I really enjoyed pizza from the pizza joint on Mesa so I was very excited when they opened the store near my home on the west side. I have visited three times since they opened and sad to say they're still in a chaotic state. They have a lot of employees but they just wander around bumping into each other by the register and the few in the kitchen are working hard. I stopped after work on a Friday night for a slice of pizza but there were none available so I waited 13 minutes for fresh pizza. Then when they told me the pizzas were ready, I had to place my order and wait five more minutes for the pizza to come out on a paper plate. They don't have any sunshades on the store front and it was unbelievably hot as the sun was amplified by the windows across the whole store front. Honestly I could not wait to get out of that restaurant, what a hot box it was. When my pizza finally came out it was really just average pizza. I hope they hire a process engineer to get things in order before much longer. read more

the pizza is pretty good, but the service is lousy! unfortunately they will lose business because they have kids working, n i understanding young people need to make a living, but really i waited 20 for two slices of pepperoni, n watch two of the employees try n put together a take out box...really! at another occassion i walked in, no one but a lady who ordered her pizza but some how they managed not to make it, she came to pick it up n noone could find her pizza...really! so that told her they'll make it right away....ok. two employees were trying to figure it out, the mystery baffled them, so then young lady ask me if i'm ready to order, i was waiting for her not that i didn't know what i wanted, so i once again order two slices of pepperoni to go n waited a few minutes while she rang it up then gives me a ridicules price, i paid 6.46 on my way home from work, but evening prices go up apparently by $2.00,,,r u kidding me! then they charge u for the take out boxes. when i asked y so much the young lady responds, that what it is all day, so i left w/o the pizza, cheaper to come during the day or when someone knows what they r doing...don't know if i will be going back anytime soon...but i do enjoy the slices, guess i'll go to the other ones. so my rating above is not for the food, but because of the service, and wait time and inconsitency of the prices!!!! read more
