Unassuming pizza store with decent pizza selection right in downtown Merrill. We ordered 3 meat and chicken and green peppers pizzas for dinner. They were alright...the crust is different from the thin crust or stuffed crust I had in the past. Tastes kind of like pastry crust, which is pretty greasy and crumbly. The crust caught my attention right away. It has a thin layer of crumb under the sauce across the entire platform. No gum line. The slice held flat when lifted. Despite the rigidity, the crust crumbled with little effort when chewed. The crust also had a hint of sweetness, was golden brown, and without char. Some described the crust as pastry like, and I certainly agree. The sauce and sausage had good flavor. The cheese was 'general duty' and was barely just enough. This is my favorite pizza place in the area. It's worth the drive from wausau. The house and extra sausage are both so good. Just tried the cheesy breadsticks and they didn't disappoint. The wings ate also very good. The sauce is really good and they don't put too much on, so the toppings can shine. Just the right amount of cheese. To me the real star is the crust. It's crispy and almost flaky. It even reheats well. It will probably be a stop everytime I am in the area. read more

It doesn't look like much when you walk past. There is limited seating for dining in but the customer service is amazing. We usually carry out our Large (14") House Special pizza. It's phenomenal. Try the Cheesey Breadsticks- they are pretty amazing too and for the price, I love them. Family owned business. They also have frozen pizzas made up various toppings- buy one get one half off. Queenie's Pizza is AMAZING! I used to live in Merrill and now live in Madison, WI. Having eaten just about every kind of pizza in Madison, I have yet to find anything like the taste of Queenie's. Whenever I go back to Merrill, my family there knows that we HAVE to get Queenie's before I leave--sometimes even 2 or 3 times. Someone should open a Queenie's in Madison, because I know it would totally impress old and young alike. Their crust is unbelievable, with a sauce that complements the flaky crust and squares of mozzarella that they place on top. Don't pass through Merrill without trying it out! read more

I love this place! I have eaten their pizza since I was a child...(I think Ron may or may not have asked my mother on a date almost half a century ago). I am from Rhinelander with local family ties and now live in Portland, OR- aka foodie paradise. But still, nothing compares to this pizza...my absolute favorite. Although yes, it can be greasy but what pizza isnt? If it wasnt would it still be pizza? If you're worried about grease, eat a salad! Sometimes I blot it but I do with other pizza too when I remember. Even my uncle in AK likes to have it when he comes back or is lucky enough to get one shipped to him! Between the unique crust and the sauce...idk. I wish I knew how to make something similar myself since I'm pretty much cut off now...I'm salivating thinking about my favorite pizza and all those carbs that I disregard when I can get my hands on it! P.s. I only eat cheese- not a vegan i just prefer cheese and with this pizza hard to compromise with hubby because they put the pepperoni under the cheese/a layer of cheese so you cant really pick it off without tearing it apart unless you do so before cooking so I just do 1/2 & 1/2. Also I highly suggest having them cook it if possible cuz it's just better and more crispy, even when using a pizza stone. Ive tried it twice now and it's just not for me. I tried the cheese pizza the first time and it was weird. It was mostly like cheese on a cracker type of texture. There wasn't much flavor. It reminded me of a pizza you buy in the freezer isle at Walmart. But I decided I'd tried something else the second time. I got the "cheesy" breadsticks and some brown sugar bourbon wings. The wings were good. A little bit too salty but I ate them and would get them again. As for the breadsticks, there was nothing cheesy about them. They had crusted cheese on the sides but that was it and they tasted like they were smothered in garlic butter. Don't get me wrong I like garlic as much as the next person but it made me nauseous at the smell of how much garlic there was. All in all, I've come to the conclusion this place is not for me. My girlfriend and her family love it but I don't see what all the hype is about. If you do go, I'd get the wings but that's it. The wings is the only reason they got 2 stars from me. read more

Lets just say this is a staple with my family. And, when family from out of town comes to visit it is always requested. The crust is the secret..... And, a special one at that. They offer several different kinds but the House special is favorite. You just have to try this pizza if you are new to the area. You may want to call ahead, as good pizza takes time. I know on weekends and events such as Superbowl you do have to wait sometimes. Friendly people working there and excellent product. Is the rumor true that they may open a shop in Wausau? This is a favorite when I return to Merrill, I never leave without ordering a pizza. The House Special is the usual go-to, but also just a simple sausage & mushroom or plain cheese is delicious. The crust is my favorite part, I haven't been able to find anything like it elsewhere (which is why i hoard all the crust pieces when the pizza is placed on the table at our house).
