I enjoyed how she encouraged individualism and creativity. Each of us started with the same supplies but had varied end products while learning the same sustainable skills of wreath making! Kyla also taught us a tucking method, so that we could repurpose our decorations and the wreath for other seasons! This further added to the value of the workshop. Of course, there we're plant things (watering cans, gloves, seeds, etc.) but there was also home decor items, candles, pillows, swings... I could go on and on! It was actually pretty organized and everything was presented well. When we got outside, to actually shop for what we came for, there were endless amounts of sections and row of flowers. Just beautiful! We were looking for plants on my front patio, which gets full sun. When we were just walking around, an employee asked if we needed his assistance and he helped us find the perfect plants for my house. Checkout seemed chaotic, but it went pretty fast. The line was backed up into the plant section, and we were worried that it would take years to checkout, but to our surprise, very fast! By far the most important way they could improve is if the male owner would at least try to hide…read morethe fact that he is extremely racist and sexist and maybe try to not let every remark that comes out of his mouth be unnecessarily rude. He is extremely demeaning towards employees, customers, and his wife who is a co-owner . He is short tempered, yells all too often,and talks to any and everyone as if they are complete idiots. He has employees do tasks that are quite dangerous and way above their $8 an hour pay grade, all the while yelling at them to to work faster. If you aren't finished with the job at hand before he even finishes asking you to do it you are incompetent and he will quickly tell you that he could have done it faster and better. His employees should never deceive themselves into thinking that they did a god job because he will always find something that you did wrong. They should also never stand up for themselves because they wil surely be fired. Part of your job duty there is to let this miserable old man talk to you as if you are worthless and stupid and by no means worthy of being shown an ounce of respect. "But how are the prices?" Surely this cute little old couple are reasonable with it. I'll just say this, more times than not a customer will come in wanting to purchase something and ask the price trusting that this nice old couple who have been in business for many years would never try to get over on them by charging not only one arm and leg but every limb on your body plus and money on your person. and once they are told, after they ask one more time to make sure they heard correctly because the answer is quite shocking, they will quickly change their mind because there aren't too many people that will pay double even sometimes triple what they can pay another store. In conclusion, if you want to robbed of your hard earned money by paying an ungodly amount on something that has been sitting on a shelf so long it has cobwebs on it, witnesses a miserable old man talk to someone, possibly you, as if you are a complete moron and if you're really lucky receive a racist or sexist insult, then come in to Plant World today. Or you can go just a few more miles up to Cleggs and find what you are looking for half the price and actually have a pleasant experience. But I'm just a former employee, what do I know.
