Super cute little shop! They had a decent verity despite it being side the market. Everything looked so beautiful and healthy! There was one employee who was super helpful and really nice! There were so many things I wanted so I definitely will be back! I also saw they have an only shop as well that you can get delivered with in 10 miles or schedule for pick up. I might utilize that feature next time. Especially when it's busy at the market. I got a beautiful succulent and air plant! The succulent was apart of an event but I payed $6-$7 for the air plant which I think is definitely a reasonable price! There were also some useful plant care tools! Overal great experience and looking forward to going back!

Stopped into the East Market today heading to check out The Plant Gays to pick up a little gift. I had such a great experience I wanted to hop on Yelp and leave them a review. I easily found street parking and made my way into the front entrance of the Historic Trolley District: East Market. The shop is located in the front center, just behind the foyer of the main entrance. This was my first time visiting The Plant Gays and met David who was working the shop today. I would have never thought I would have so much fun talking about plants, plant care, types of options for different environments, and learning more about thier business and services! There is all kinds of cute stuff here. After browsing a bit, I picked out a Norfolk Island Pine, and also found a cute cactus and a fun looking air plant. The cactus and air plant were perfect for two decorative little planters that I have been wanting to put something in for a while. In addition to the variety of plants, they have gifts & accessories like watering cans, little jars of moss, plant tools, spray bottles and much more. They have different types of planters, vases, and offer plant services too. You can schedule in-home design service, or schedule a re-potting service and bring your plant in (or they can do a home visit for larger plants). Stopping in made my day. Super friendly and great customer service. I even grabbed a Loyalty Card for future visits.

First time at the East Market and at The Plant Gays. The Plant Gays is the only store that sells plants in the East Market. Don't be fool by the size of the store. It's a small store but packs a lot of stuff. There are so many different types of plants and others things like pots, candles and ornaments. There are many different things you can pick for yourself or for a gift. Soon as I entered the store a gentleman welcomed us and showed us different types of plants and when we picked the plant that we liked, he repotted it and gave us instructions on how to take care of it. He was super nice. Will definitely visit here again for our next plant needs.

The Plant Gays is a unique store specializing in house plants and flowers, as well as handmade planters and other plant accessories. The business is in the East Market in the Historic Trolley District. This was our first trip to the East Market, and we had a great time. David was very friendly, helpful, and patient as we decided between various plant options. My wife picked the fern plant, while I picked the cactus. Both are beautiful (and I don't even like houseplants)! If you are looking for a vendor who offers something different than big box retail stores, give the Plant Gays a try, and you will not regret it!

I happen to love a good plant shop and the Plant Gays is adorable. The staff are super friendly and so nice! It was really fun to have a browse and talk about different kinds of plants. They also offer some cute local gift items, including candles and stickers, along with a selection of just really healthy looking plants and some interesting plant pots. For sure worth a visit and a return trip!

This is such an adorable shop in the East Market! Great parking is available and there are tons of other vendors to visit for snacks after you shop for tons of awesome plants, plant accessories, and locally made giftables. They have lots of smaller plants and event planters for them-- you could create a really adorable indoor garden just from visiting this one shop. I loved the little plant hats they have for cacti. So cute. The owners are in the shop almost every day meeting with customers, and they even have some of their own artisan-made work, like unique pottery, available for sale. It's the type of place where you stop in and sort of want everything. I especially enjoyed all of the little jarred living mosses they have, and the adorable Christmas ornaments they have in stock right now.

The Plant Gays located toward the back of the East Market and easily spotted along with all greens. I love this little stand filled with all the greens. They have variety size of plant to select. The owner is super nice and patiently explain on the care instruction for the plant. Other than that, they also have some accessories for plant and some interesting gift options as well.

Another fabulous yelp event where you discover a new place in a city you've lived in for over 30 years! The East Market recently opened and The Plant Gays are the only non food store in the Market. The space is small but well organized and the owner was very helpful. Got the free plant but also bought another one that he potted for me. Excited to come back with my loyalty card.

However, I found the prices to be a turnoff. I saw several items that seemed to be vastly over priced. And it made me a little suspicious. For example- pulleys. I couldn't find one under $125. But I have bought several of the same quality for $40-$70 apiece. Similarly- old doors. Some of the doors marked $425 can be easily found elsewhere for $50-$100. Certainly some were worth the price but I was shocked at how many plain wood doors were marked up that high. All this being said, I don't know much about what the Columbus market will bear and they do have some truly amazing stuff here. I saw a phenomenal stained glass window- appeared to be from an old church? And glass door knobs- they had a ton of those as well as other hard to find hardware... Bottom line, I might stop here if I have my heart set in something in particular but it will have to be an investment piece... And something super special...

I find that Studios On High has a female slant. Many of the artists are women, many of the themes in the work deal with femininity, and much of the work is aimed (in my opinion) at female buyers. A lot of the art features animals and nature as well. I most appreciate Studios On High for its history as a Columbus gallery; it's been around since the mid-1980s. Many of the artists who leave end up opening their own galleries, case in point, Jeff Hersey of Terra Gallery. If you visit, you'll catch a handful of the artists in the studio; sometimes they're in the process of creating something, or perhaps they're just knitting. The artists are very inviting and don't mind if you hang around to watch them work. My favorite pieces at Studios On High are always the blown glass vessels by husband and wife duo Scott Conover and Lisa Horkin. The tiny vessels are so colorful, and they all have great shapes. I saw Scott and Lisa last summer making the vessels on High St at a Gallery Hop. They also make bowels and vases. The colored pencil drawings by Rhonda Bartoe Tuckers are also phenomenal. They are so smooth that they look like they were painted. Since Studios On High is a collective, there's all kinds of art to be seen (in all kinds of genres): prints, paintings, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, drawings, knits, glass, ceramics, etc. The artwork changes often.
