What an awesome place! Huge indoor and outdoor seating area including what looked like a small meeting room. Inside, think ski lodge with an alpine theme. Outside has ample seating for the nice warm days with friends. In winter there is a really cool little ice rink and outdoor fireplace. Such a great addition to the small city downtown shopping and dining area. The coffee shop has a nice selection of hot and cold drinks with a limited breakfast and lunch menu. I tired the avocado toast and thought it was very fresh and tasty. Definitely a great destination for lunch or coffee with friends. Unfortunately it was still a little too cold to sit outside this morning... so the inside seating was hard to find. read more

3 issues that have driven me away from here. #1 they don't take cash! Well this seems to be more of a convienece for ownership and mgmt than it is a hassle to those who want to pay cash. I was given the "lame" excuse that it was easier on the employees to not have to make change and it reduces employee theft??!! Well that comes down to a management issue and simply training the employees correctly=lazy mgmt. #2 it's a hike and a complete hassel to park and walk there. #3 the prices! A medium medium 16 oz iced latte is pennies short of $7! More expensive than Starbucks.......they should be BELOW $$ Starbucks for no drive up, and Starbucks takes good old USA currency$$ read more

Great place for kids! Not so much for adults if you want to get some ice skating in. Kids everywhere. I suggest they implement a time slot. It might be different on other days as we went right after Christmas when school was out. Picture perfect, Hallmark Christmas experience. Nice addition and money maker for a smaller city. Convenient location right downtown, lots of very close street parking. Great, long hours for the weekend. Extremely affordable for families! There is no time limit of shaking, once you pay you could spend all day skating if you want. Cashless system is important to note, as well as that they have no locked storage systems for your bags or shoes or anything that you cannot bring on the ice. Luckily most of the area is within sight line so you can always see your stuff, but leave anything valuable in the car in case. Especially considering the cubbies are right in front of the wide open entrance to the establishment. Inside it's like you're transported to a fancy ski resort. Very log cabin cozy vibe. I was unable to get a Christmas themed flight of coffee or espresso (more about that below) so I ordered their custom Plaza drink which was delicious and sweet. They also offer some limited food and snack options. Outside there is gorgeous gas fire pits in stone with tall chairs around them to enjoy your foos/drink and be able to see your party of people, even if they're on the ice and you can still relax. There is an outdoor window to order more drinks without having to go inside if you have your skates on. The waiver for skating is simple and easy to complete, even while you're in line for skates. You get a sticker to wear so that the staff knows you paid to be on the ice/ for the rentals in the next window. I understand this theory works but in practice the stickers fall off so easily and seemingly no one checks them except moving from window 1 to pay to window 2 to get skates. It was a very busy day/night and they had one girl doing a great job in the small rink to make sure kids were not pushing or racing or endangering others. The rink is not large and they should consider on busier days it's difficult to skate as there are too many people on the ice and figuring out a better system than the free for all they have would be helpful on those days. They clear the ice to run the Zamboni regularity which makes the rink fresh to skate on which is awesome. This location is not ideal for atmosphere. There is a towering apartment complex building being worked on daily right up against one side of the ring. Definitely an eyesore and is going to be very loud for the new tenants and makes the space feel small. Also with being in this location traffic is going and going too fast. One of the main crosswalks to get to Plaza from the Main Street and main areas of parking is around a bend and cars do not look or stop, very dangerous, they could use a light or at least a sign from the city to make it safer. Something worth talking about is the fact that you may not be able to get the flight coffee. We visited on a Thursday weeknight after the winter holidays. Firstly I want to say I again completely understand that you have to do this and I think it's great to take that load off of the young workers when it is busy and takes awhile to get through all the orders they have coming in much less having to worry about creating small flights. But I think they should post when they are unable to do flights or at the very least hang a sign so that the poor counter workers don't have to deal with every Karen that came in wanting a fun flight and trying to fight or complain to the worker to get what they want which I saw a few times the one visit I've had. read more

I've been a customer here many times in the past, however, I have never been so rudely treated as I was today by their staff. Long story short, I wasn't planning on coming to Globe today so I had already gotten my morning coffee somewhere else, then last minute plans were made to meet a friend before she had to work in Neenah, so naturally we met at Globe, our usual meeting place. Now, I do understand that they have a no carry-in policy, however, I attempted to make up for that by purchasing food items and my friend purchased her own coffee. Ultimately, I was told by the male staff member that "we have a very strict no carry-in policy so you can't have that here". Ok, that's fine, but I wasn't even able to explain the reason for having it with me before I was told "there's a sign right in front of your face that says no carry-ins so you need to throw it away or leave". I was absolutely dumbfounded at how rude he was talking to me, as if I was a repeat offender. I then asked the other staff member why two other people were allowed to have their own carry-ins (two girls had their own Stanley bottles or yeti's or something) to which I was told "they work here" so apparently it's "no carry-ins except for employees even if they aren't currently working". My friend and I decided we would leave and after leaving, I was stopped by two other women who told me they also could not believe how rude the male staff member was to me and that they had actually decided to leave as well because of that, so I know I'm not just overreacting and being salty about it. I ended up letting the other staff member know that while I understand the policy and I apologize for creating the situation, the way he handled it was beyond outrageous and absolutely did not call for him to be so outwardly hostile to me. I felt like he had a personal vendetta against me from a past life or something, it was asinine. So we took our food and drinks and headed our way to Lawlss Coffee, where I was then treated with kindness and not crucified for having a different drink. Funnily enough, the other two women also ended up going there because Globe coffee was "not very good anyway". So take what you will from this review, whether you agree with the policy or not, or the fact that I was technically in the wrong for having a carry-in (yes I agree that I shouldn't have had it so don't come at me about it, but I wasn't about to let a fresh ice coffee boil in the car), the way I was treated regarding the issue was horrendous. read more

Walking into Globe feels like walking into an Aspen Ski lodge. It is so cozy and with the Plaza ice skating outside, it feels like the perfect winter coffee retreat. The food menu offers three different sections, breakfast until 11am, lunch 11-3 and ice rink 4-close. I really enjoyed the Carmel latte and vegan panini. This seems like it would be a really great spot to work from during the week as well. This is a great addition to Neenah. read more

The Globe is such an amazing space. However- I ordered a raspberry Italian soda. The girl made it with: a can of warm Sprite, ice, and raspberry syrup. I was thinking maybe this was just a different way to make it, but soon realized it was just completely not it. Lemon lime soda is NOT a replacement for sparkling water. If a barista doesn't know how to make a drink, they should politely ask for help or say "sorry I'm not comfortable making that for you". I specifically called ahead to see if they had Italian sodas also. I hope she learns how to correctly make one of the easiest non-coffee drinks ever! read more

Friendly and comfy. This is a bright young place to sit and watch the world walk drive or skate by. Inside or outside it's an easy place to go alone or with a big group. They make my coffee the way I like it but I know nothing about coffee. My granddaughter likes their drinks. read more

It's Random Acts of Kindness Week, and I just heard a tip to leave a positive review for a local business as a way to honor that. I often work at The Globe on my laptop a couple mornings a week. My order is a breve in a "real mug" and then I ask for a saucer (to keep my drink hot; I put it on top). Mind you, the mug is chunky and not a saucer-type cup. After a few visits, the staff started bringing me my drink with a teal blue saucer, saying "Here's your saucer to keep it hot." I have lived in many cities including the more urbanized areas like Milwaukee, Chicago, etc. This coffee joint is everything I wanted from different cafes all in one spot. You're greeted by fragrant woods and treats, with sweet trails of coffee beans in the air. I noticed their prices are significantly less for high quality tasting beans as well. A normal chain may charge $6-$8 for a drink that costs less than $4 here. I also study in cafes, specifically languages... it can be overwhelming to hear lots of noise and big blenders. It felt as if the wood interior drowned a lot of sounds better than other buildings , therefore making it a prime study spot if you like quiet areas. The baristas are also very sweet and were quick to make my Iced Lavender Latte. One thing is: they do not accept cash (at least when I went), so bring a debit or credit card. That's no issue for me personally, as I only use cards anyways. All in all, I will certainly be returning with my textbooks next time and staying for a while :) Give this spot a try! read more
